I will start saying that they have another hostel close by that looks way better so better if you go to the other one. I would say that the only good thing about this one is the location (which btw is not really for tourists but for locals so sometimes we felt a bit awkward in the area) the rooms are nice but noisy, the bathrooms can be improved and the staff sometimes it's not there and the door is closed. It was kind of cheap and we stayed just for one night. The owner it's a really nice guy but he's normally at the other hostel.

Abdallah is the best dude ever! We had an awesome time. It’s right on the beach which is epic!!!!! Mega good views out the window of the Red Sea. Everyone’s super cool. Perfect stay, if I could put eight stars I would

I hate to be that person but I believe this hostel is too expensive for what it is. We were there only one night, and the music from the bar kept us up until 3AM. Also the room we had had no proper window so we would get mosquito bites all night long. I would advice people to go to Hakaia instead, it’s cleaner, better located and more welcoming. If that hostel was 5 DIN, I think it would be fair!

By far the best hostel I've stayed in! I wish I could rate this hostel higher. The owner and his son truly turned our trip around after having a bad hostel experience in Jerusalem. They set us up with the cheapest snorkel tour and wadi rum tour by far, invited us to join them for free lunch twice and gave us great advice on everything else. After heading to Petra for a few days we returned for an evening before catching the ferry to Egypt. They let us stay there, in the AC, for the few hours we had waiting for the late night ferry. They offered us free tea and water and got us a good taxi to the port. Once we arrived the taxi found out the ferry had been cancelled. This rarely happens and wasn't announced anywhere. We returned to Al Amer and they saw we were upset we lost a day in Egypt and gave us a nights stay FOR FREE. Truly incredible people that really are in the business to help people travel affordably and enjoy their country!

This hostel could really need some improvement. The location is great, but there is so much noise from cafes and bars at night. The place is not really well maintained, and bathrooms are a bit dirty. The breakfast is good, and the owner is really nice and helpful but I think it’s a bit expensive compared to what you get.

This was a great hostel and they are so welcoming and help us with any requests. There is even free tea to drink and chat in the reception. The view is amazing with a wonderful sunset and you can walk onto the beach. They also organise diving trips for you with a very professional service and the coral is incredible.

Good stuff about this place 1. Nice location to South Beach, diving locations 2. Very good lively environment. You can see how locals enjoy their time off. Nice access to some local bars and cafes 3. Incredible stuff. Super helpful. The owner is amazing, and all the guys that worked there are super friendly 4. Great breakfast, coffee. Bad stuff about this place 1. Loud music during the night. If you are a person who likes to go to sleep early and is annoyed by music from bars, avoid this place. For us, it was very ok even with music around.

I stayed there last year around this dates so I was checking it out on Bookingcom. (I booked through it) and over there this place has bad reviews and I have no idea why. That's what prompted this late review. We were 4 people, stayed in 2 rooms. The rooms were spacious and well furnished. We all had an amazing time there, booked 2 nights and ended up staying one more. The owner/host was simply the best, he provided everything we needed from music to ice or towels, (his team of employees are excellent as well) he treated us like family. We played cards in the big spacious area outside and he and his employees gave us incredible service he even sent a big plate of Kunafa to our table. I would love to go back to Aqaba and I would absolutely return to Al Amer Chalet 2.

To put it simply, Abdullah is better than words can begin to describe. His hospitality, kindness and open-heartedness is second to no-one. Abdullah’s ability to make you feel completely and utterly welcome is beyond what one would expect, let alone even dare to hope for, in a host. His hostel is equally beautiful, set on the beach providing unchallenged views across the Red Sea and the sunset, the hostel makes your stay feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of Aqaba. In all, the experience was incredible and outer worldly, I would recommend Abdullah and his hostel to anyone with the highest degree.

I booked one night in a 4 beds dorm and for the price it was totally fine. There is even a TV and aircon in the room! The highlight of the place it;s the staff and the location (right at the beach). Ibrahim and Murad are just the best guys, super friendly, fun and helpful. I enjoyed my time in Al Amer and decided to stay one more night :)

I just showed up to this hostel needing a place to stay, and i was greeted by the owner.....This is a nice and clean hostel. The place is right on the water...I do highly recommend and will stay here again. The place is well kooled by AC in the evening, and the private rooms have their own AC and ocean view(which I got 22jod/night). Enjoy! Use whatsapp to contact.

as others write in the comments, the owner is a thief and a fraud. Be careful and you can't stay in the hostel because loud music plays until 5 in the morning. He took money from me in cash and later wanted to charge the card.

The hostel and rooms were clean, modern, and well located by the local beach in Aqaba. Our room had a lovely view of the bay, and beach in front. The standout for the hostel was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. We were greeted with tea and a discussion to help us get the most out of our stay as well as the local area. Abdallah was most helpful to us and organised diving for us, even providing us transport when the local taxis were on strike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and our time was maximised by the staff here. Cannot speak highly enough about this hostel and its wonderful staff!

Great location, close to the market and right on the waterfront. The real highlight here is the service. Our Cali boy at the desk hooked us up with a great deal on experiences and accomodations for scuba diving and explorations to Petra and Wadi Rum. He is great guide to the area and provided advice on navigating the local market along with restaurant suggestions. He did everything he could to accommodate us at the facility and was eager to ensure we felt comfortable.

Very cozy and valuable place. Staff very friendly, room a bit dirty but nothing special. We had the room without sea view so apart from the view it was better due to less noise

Would not recommend - aircon broke and flooded our room, washing came back destroyed with many clothes stained orange, thumping music through the night. You get what you pay for unfortunately

We had an amazing time in aqaba, thanks to the owner. We felt very welcomed and included. Everything is easy going and always done with a smile. One of the best hostel experiences so far for me!

First of all, there is a lot of noise from the restaurant below that last untill 4 AM and makes it difficult to sleep. Furthermore, one of the people who work at the hostel decided to sleep in our room which was not told to us beforehand. He snored all night and because of this we couldn't sleep at all. We found this to be highly inappropriate. Also the hostel itself is not very clean.. Though the people who work at the hostel are friendly and reasonable, if you are looking for a clean hostel and good nights sleep, don't go here!

The location has it all (on the beach), relatively cheap prices combined with comfortable furnishing & direct care from the owner. Honestly it's one of the best out there.
