(Translated by Google) Wadi Rum, also called the Valley of the Moon due to the similarity of its terrain to that of the moon, and a tourist valley located in the Hisma Desert in southern Jordan, 70 km north of the coastal city of Aqaba. [1] [2] Wadi Rum is the common name used in the media for the whole region. Although most of the tourist sites and camps are located outside the village of Rum. It is characterized by the presence of relatively tall mountains in it, as it has the highest mountain peaks in the south of the Levant, namely: Jabal Umm al-Dami and Jabal Ram. The main road to Wadi Rum and the small village of Rum slopes east from the desert road at about five kilometers to the south of the city of Al-Quwirah and twenty-five kilometers to the north From Aqaba. From there, the road extends about 35 kilometers across the desert and ends at Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum is one of the most touristy areas in Jordan that tourists come to from all over the world due to the naturalness of the site, which was not made by any human being, but rather it is an act of nature despite the presence of Thamudic and Islamic inscriptions. In the Wadi Rum region, there are many tourist camps that replace hotels, as it is a nature reserve, and hotels are not allowed to be built in. Wadi Rum is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the world. During the day it is a tremendous, silent, breathtaking panorama. During the night it is a place of tranquility and peace under the dark sky as the flames of the campfire mixe with all the desert stars. Nowhere do the stars shine as brightly as in Wadi Rum. Our tours aim to help you experience the wonders of our ancient Desert home. We offer tours by Jeep, Camel and on foot of the incredible sights of Wadi Rum. Come try traditional Bedouin cuisine and spend the overnight stay right in the Desert surrounded by peacefulness and stars.

Beautiful landscape of granite and sandstone. Amazing to be here and see the beauty of the land. We went around Wadi Rum via truck and saw all the main points of interest as well as a few view points to see. I see why a lot of the movies use this as a place to film, definitely looks like Mars. Amazing place, nice camps to stay at and you don’t get bothered too much which is really nice as well. I definitely recommend checking this place out!

Wadi Rum is a protected desert wilderness in southern Jordan. It features dramatic sandstone mountains like the many-domed Jebel Um Ishrin, and natural arches such as Burdah Rock Bridge. Many prehistoric inscriptions and carvings line rocky caverns and steep chasms, such as Khazali Canyon. It's a beautiful desert. It's a protected area. Beautiful nature. Beautiful sunsets. Cold and warm breezes make you feel so calm. Great views of the landscape and delicious local food. Accommodation was basic but good and each unit has its own A/C. 4x4 is recommended as the camp is completely off road otherwise a pick up would be arranged. The aromatic food prepared in the fire pit was a delight. Enjoyed the dancing after dinner and the early sunrise jeep tour. If you ever have an opportunity to come visit this place don’t miss this place. Don’t worry if you are staying in luxury camping or a normal one it’s actually the place it self is so amazing. I would recommend taking a safari jeep in order to see more places in the valley. The guide was really cool and very experienced when it comes to deserts, he shared with us lots of different facts about Wadi Rum and its history.

My visit to Wadi Rum in Jordan was a truly remarkable experience. Exploring the desert in a 4x4 allowed us to delve deep into the natural wonders of the landscape, from hidden caves and winding canyons to towering sand dunes and refreshing springs. At each stop, we were greeted with the option to purchase refreshments and enjoyed the complimentary Arabian tea, which was a pleasant and authentic touch, reflecting the Bedouin culture's warmth and hospitality. However, the most memorable part of the trip was spending the night in a Bedouin tent. The Bedouin hosts extended their genuine hospitality, offering us a taste of their traditional cuisine. Sitting around the campfire, engaging in conversations, and relishing their food provided an intimate glimpse into their way of life, fostering a profound appreciation for their culture. I highly recommend the complete Bedouin experience for anyone looking to fully immerse themselves in the captivating world of Wadi Rum. It offers a unique opportunity to connect with a culture deeply rooted in this rugged desert landscape and create lasting memories.

Wadi Rum is a fantastic place where there are charming golden sands, rocks and huge mountains. It is said that its nature resembles Mars, but Wadi Rum remains the more beautiful. There are wonderful and very generous Bedouins. You can spend there a good time in the bubble hotel. Note (do not forget to watch the sunset)

Very unique, almost otherworldly, especially given that the movies the Martian and Star Wars were both filmed in Wadi Rum. The same is very fine and blows easily, consider a neck gator to ensure you can just see the same versus breathe the sand. Landscapes, rocks, sand, and bedouins make this a very unusual and amazing place.

Wadi rum is an amazing desert! We came during winter and it was very warm during the day - but pack some warm clothes for the night. We were also luck enough to catch some rain while we were there. You can go out for a camel ride or hike some nice spots. Just be careful, that your trip doesn’t get too touristy.

This is fantastic and unique desert! I mean it. There is not so much about the sand but about red mountains formations like sculptures. What is unique? The rock seems to be like "melted". The view everywhere is beautiful and I couldn't stop admiring this God huge sculpture. :-) We took a jeep for 2h but it was far too less for what this desert has to offer. The driver will have some stops here and there to some "hot points" at some big tents where you can drink a tea, ride a camel and buy some souvenirs. My advice: go early in the morning, put on you some clothes to cover all your body, on the head some thick cotton, because for example in april, at 12pm it was crazy hot and we got burned once again after Petra. 😭 And take 4h to enjoy this amazing place.

One of the most popular deserts used in movie settings. It has a bright red color and mountains view making it different from other deserts. Staying over here at night in the bedoin camps to get a spectacular view of the night sky and stars was a truly amazing experience.

I spent here 14 days, this place will be definitely in my heart! My second home, I cant wait to go back again! When you arrive, you can leave your car on the parking next to the Rest House and then you can just check the village. There is not much to do, but the local people are very kind and you can get a great coffee in the restaurant near to the parking. Then you can head to the desert of Wadi Rum for incredible night in the camp or for a jeep tour. 1 day here is not enough to absorb the atmosphere and enjoy the simple life without stress.

Do not do the same mistake as I did to go there just for 2 nights and a full day. Stay at least 3 full days or 3 nights. It worth it! Super sad that I didn't stay more time. You really feel disconnected from the world and the people and from everything around you. It's a must seen and I suggest you a stay in Desert Bird Camp with Tawfik

Wadi Rum was one of the highlights of our trip to Jordan. It's such a calm place, with very interesting rock formations. The colour contrast of the orange sand and blue skies is beautiful. I recommend you go on a 4x4 tour to see the best places.

Very popular among tourists. Unique rock formations, sand dunes, desserts, red planet, sunsets. Camel rides are a popular event but most people in our group were complaining it was too long a ride afterwards. Beautiful red landscapes remind me of Utah and Monument Valley in US.

(Translated by Google) Rum reserve is one of the most beautiful deserts in the world. I enjoyed the view of the dense stars and the planets were very clear and the sight snatched the dogs, the atmosphere was hot in the day and cool at night even on hot summer nights. A light jacket must be taken at night, the most important thing to visit the Rum camps: 1. See the stars in the sky. 2. Night walk over the fine sand with a guide from the camp. 3. Exit before sunrise to observe the sunrise in certain places known by the camp guide. 4. Walking barefoot in the daytime (possible at night when there is good lighting) over the soft sand to unload negative cargoes for more health and psychological comfort. Wadi Rum or the Valley of the Moon is a desert area in the south of Jordan. It is a popular tourist destination for visitors to Jordan for its natural beauty. Several tourist camps in the valley provide comfortable accommodations in tents and cabins, equipped with decent amenities. Visitors may undertake jeep of camel safaris to explore the vast protected area of the valley which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sunrise and sunset in the desert are breathtaking!

What a great experience. Honestly book with a guide and also try to stay in one of the pods overnight for a mind blowing experience. We actually just drove in paid about $5 or so to get in then made a deal with a driver to take us to some of the key locations. Well worth the $40 we paid for 2 people.

Magical place! The colour of the sand, the dunes, the light and the shadows caused by the sun, it was amazing. Definitely worth a visit with local drivers that know where to take you. But don't bring fancy shoes, they will get very dirty in a heartbeat and it's hard to clean them afterwards. Don't forget your sunblock, water and a hat!

What an amazing experience I had with my friends at Panorama Camp in wadi Rum Jordan. The service is super good, the food was amazing. We had lunch, diner and breakfast and all meals were yummy and clean with many varieties to choose from. Make sure to ask for your hot cup of tea, that by itself was an experience. Thanks Hany and Salem for the great time, I will make sure to come back again when I visit Jordan again.

The place it’s very nice, peaceful and diferent. The desert are crowded of 4x4 car carrying tourists around the desert but it’s quite quiet at night. Actually I was hoped more about this place but it’s only a opinion, the desert is original and I think you have to see and take your own opinion and experience. Maybe my expectations were very high and perhaps that was my problem.

Wadi Rum was absolutely breathtaking. As cliché as it is to say it, it really does feel like you are on another planet. Make sure you have something to cover your eyes and face, because the sand can kick up a bit in the wind. This is a must-see on your travels through Jordan!

The food was excellent especially the grilled chicken which was cooked under the earth on desert sand. The jeep trekking was excellent. The rum balloon camp was excellent room for nice bed and toilets.

Amazing experience in such a beautiful place! One day is not enough. The terrain is very wide, it is impossible to quickly inspect everything. There are many nice places to see. We found a perfect guide near the enterence. Good price for jeep tour. Everyone was giving us tea. Even teach us some arabian words. There are little shops inside the desert where I was able to get scarf and other souvenirs.

It's a beautiful desert. It's a protected area. Beautiful nature. Beautiful sunsets. Cold and warm breezes make you feel so calm. You have to book a camp in this desert. It's the camp's responsibility for your transportation, food and safety. It's a must visit place in Jordan. But I have a request to the government authority to look at the plastic pollution it is causing to the desert.

One of the best places visited in my life. A mix of nature, friendly people and luxury resorts. I suggest to bring sun cream, heat and water. You can find water also in the desert for 1JOD/ bottle. The best moment is definitely the sunset and the night. Amazing colours and unique sky full of stars. No place on earth 🌍 is comparable to Wadi Rum! It is amazing how you feel relieved after being there. The vastness of desert, the colors, the rock formation, the healing sands, and the serenity of the place is just mind blowing. Try walking on the sand (dunes) and feel the relief, or try star ✨ gazing, it just feels like you are on different planet in the galaxy. Very magical Bedouin atmosphere. Tea from the bedouins 👌 There's a small shop at Lawrence of Arabia hideout I think. A steep dune to climb up and if want to slide or roll over. Beautiful place to visit, can be too crowded so it can be boring at some place because everyone want the same pics for Instagram. I recommend sleeping outside in the desert and not in a camp. Camps has to be in a range of 6km of the main starting village and are close to each other, when you sleep outside in the desert : no range ;). Ps: forget bubble hotel, and ufo hotels, they are not event in the protected area and are not authentic & Expensive places.

Only Wadi Mujib was for me on the same "adventure" level. It is worth to go only for this to Jordan. I recommend to spend also a night on the desert in Beduin camp. Amazing!

Amazing camp to stay for the night. The guide and the host is really kind and welcoming. We did the desert tour with this camp and it was really fantastic. I recommend totally. They made a homemade food in bedouin style and its incredible to learn this culture. Go and enjoy

Beautiful place. Amazing rock formations and red sand. I feel sorry we only took a 2-hour jeep ride. It is definitely worth to stay longer or better - stay overnight in the desert.

We booked overnight stay, but we all agreed it would be great to stay two nights. We stayed in Rahayed Camp and it was outstanding experience! Our 11yo son said it was his highlight of the trip

It is the perfect desert!!!!! It's not a dull landscape It has mountains. At of movies have been filmed here like Star Wars, Martian, etc.... It is worth to take a ride on the camels for the sunrise or for the sunset.
