I was very much looking forward to a desert stargazing experience, but unfortunately, this is a bit of a missed opportunity from the way its run. I've given two stars, one obtained for purely existing and the second obtained because the guides were actually very good, they were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I did learn a fair bit and we saw some interesting things through the telescopes. The negative review is derived from three key points. Once again, I thought the guides were very good. 1) The group is too big - You're packed into a room at the start for a presentation, then split off into two groups, one to look at the sky with a naked eye, the second to look through telescopes. You don't get much telescope time or time to ask questions to the guide as 40 people per small group is too many. Groups should be staggered into approx 10 maximum, this should be achievable. 2) The location is surrounded by camps giving off light - it would've been nice to ho slightly deeper into the desert, so trucks and surrounding light weren't disturbing the view. 3) It's a bit of a money grabbing exercise - For 20 JOD (25 EUR, 22GBP),you'd expect the groups to be a little smaller than "up to 80". To continue under the current model, about 8 -10 JOD would be more appropriate.

Very nice experience. Really worth giving a try. They take you 15/20 mins deep into the desert. The guides were actually very good, they were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I did learn a lot and we saw some interesting things through the telescopes.

Bit unlucky with a full moon, but our two hosts were excellent with informative and amusing tales of stargazing. Good chance to try some powerful little telescopes and enjoy the desert night sky. Wearing the "Jedi" robes was a nice bonus 😁

A fantastic experience! Looking through the telescopes was fascinating and the hosts were super knowledgeable and engaging. Even on a cloudy, low visibility night (due to a bright moon) it was still unforgettable. Loved seeing the planets up close and having the flat earth theory proven wrong 😉. Highly recommended while you're in Wadi Rum and definitely worth the expense!

Yazan gave me some new lessons and thought me about how to handle the telescopes! I saw the Moon up close, I saw Saturn and Jupiter too. It was a great star gazing experience over here. Whenever you stop by at Wadi Rum make sure to check them out too!

A must do activity if you are wadi rum, the team consists of a bunch of enthusiasts in star gazing who give great education about stargazing and have 4 telescopes for viewing the stars n planets

I was looking forward to this experience, but left feeling unfulfilled. The process has two parts: 1) an overview of the night sky and constellations, including how to navigate by the night sky, I found this both interesting and informative. The second part is using telescopes to see celestial elements. This is where I felt most unfulfilled, there are 5 there's, one very large one, and 4 smaller ones. Each has been selected to review different objects at different distances. I think I was looking for more substance and visually stunning imagery versus looking at white dots many light-years away.

Great place to chill for the night when traveling in the area. Really nice staff, food on - don't expect French 2 stars ⭐️ Michelin 😀, and the tea is just fantastic. Pool is great at the end of a hiking day, and if you can enjoy watching camel ride in pictures instead of riding one that would be nice ... highly recommend star gazing at night, especially if you arrive when the moon isn't too visible. Enjoy the area ☀️

This could have been such a great experience but as other comments here mentioned: the group was way too big and looking through the telescopes felt so rushed. This is not what you expect for 20 JOD. Either charge less or make the groups smaller. Also for this price - it wouldn’t hurt with a cup of hot tea since it was getting quite cold at night. Another huge con: how surprised i was to be driven for “stargazing” to a place that is located just next to a road and a little town. Lots of light pollution!! While they could have literally found any other more secluded place in the desert for that. On the pros side, it was a really cool experience to look through the telescopes. The guides were ok although really throwing many jokes that was not everyones sense of humor.

The explanation and the guy was really good. The second part where they show the stars was not good. The young woman Marrah, wasnt terrible. The whole experience was underwhelming. Not worth doing it. Seeing 5 stars via telescope was good but not worth the money. We booked in advance $45 per person. But on the night they were selling for $30 which is a cheek. Try somewhere else not here.

We were looking forward to a desert stargazing experience, but unfortunately, this missed the mark. I have given 2 stars because of the enthusiasm and knowledge of the presenters however the experience itself was sub par. The area they take you to has lots of buildings around and you are basically surrounded by light ! They use an area with tented walls with no roof to try to mitigate this but it doe not ! I can see as many stars at home in my yard with the naked eye. We were expecting a more dark sky experience. To topp it off you can either stand or sit in the sand in this area. The seating is directly in the sand , Bedouin seating would have worked better but nothing to sit on was provided. They initially gave a presentation in one of the buildings and split you into groups however the groups were still large. Overall something we were excited to do and the sky was better on the drive to the event.

The guides are personable and funny. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy night when we went, but we were still able to see some stars and they still made it interesting.

This is an awesome experience. Due to the total absence of artificial light in the desert you can see stars very clearly . Everything is just perfect and the team great.

Expensive (30 bucks) and not very good. If you’re expecting something out of the beaten path this is not it. Maybe worth it in the summer when you can see the milky way.

Incredible experience in the Wadi Rum desert, looking at the stars with the patient and expert guide of young students. I surely recommend this alternative view of this enchanting natural beauty!

It was an eye opening experience and the way in which the concepts was explained was funny yet engaging. My daughter now thinks she should study astronomy. That's how imoactful it was.

The telescopes fogged, in only one guy to clean them. The same guy who did the presentations. Not worth the time.

👍👍 The nicest experience we had in whole Jordan.
