What a great way to start our break in Avila. My wife is Coeliac, and we asked for a table outside, but we were taken inside, where there were two servers who spoke excellent english. My wife was advised on dishes, i chose what i fancied, the wine and food were superb, if anywhere near this area again, would go out of our way to eat here again! A definite 5 stars from us!

We were blown away by the value for money. Everything tasted really good and the price was very reasonable. Their Chuleton would’ve easily fetched £100 in London. It’s probably one of the best steak I’ve ever had and I’m not even big on steaks. Their omelette with crisp Iberico ham was seasoned very well and their vegetable tempura with molasses was such a revelation. I highly recommend this restaurant. Just to add as well, as most restaurants in Avila, they close at 16:00. We arrived 15:15 and stayed until almost 17:00. They even allowed us to have desserts. Oh and just to add to the steak as well, due to the language barrier, they probably didn’t understand that we wanted ours medium well done so they brought it to us medium rare. We had to ask them to cook it a bit more and it was no trouble at all. If anything, it became even juicier. Excellent service. You also feel old world luxury on their setup with their heavy table cloths and starched napkins. All in all, this alone is worth a trip to Avila. Feels like a bonus to see the sights as well.

Amazing food!! We ate on the terrace, right in front of the cathedral, we were the first people for (Spanish-time) lunch at 1.30. We had the ensalada de rúcula for a starter (delicious, sweet/tart honey dressing, goat cheese + cranberries) then the enscalope de tenera (seemed a bit simple but good) and the solomillo de avileño (juicy perfectly wood grilled steak, makes my mouth water thinking about it again) for the mains, sorbete de limón for dessert. There is a 10% charge for eating on the terrace, and they bring bread automatically and charge for it, just be aware. The wait staff were incredibly nice and accommodating- splitting the two main courses and bringing them one after the other so we could share. I would definitely recommend this place!

I am so glad I follower The Fork recommendation. Definitely the highlight of our day trip to Avila. The Chuletón D.O. Ávila is worth it, I am sure any local meet cut would be very good. The location is excellent and service was warm and attentive. Recommended!

This wasn't the best restaurant on our tour of Castille & Leon, the service was OK but all the tables seemed to be booked at the same time so the staff had to run around a bit. I had the Chuletón steak because it is typical of Ávila, but I cannot recommend it, the steak was tough and not great, I don't normally order steak and I don't think I ever will again. Probably not the restaurants fault, but I'd give it a miss even if it is a local specialty.

PROs - The spaghetti was lovely. The meatballs and cous cous were great but there were no vegetables as advertised for that dish. CONs - My husband ordered the steak entrecôte medium but it was thick cut and came out rare, even after sending it back 50pct was still rare. We were Also the only guests in the restaurant at the start of lunch service however we were constantly leaving our table to find wait staff to serve us. Lastly they charge for bread which they put on the table without you ordering. so you assume it’s complimentary and it’s not.

Fantastic! Definitely a highlight of any visit to Ávila. The service is great, as the waiters are all very quick and polite (and good with wine suggestions to pair with any meal.) The duck breasts and Iberian cheeks are the mains to get here, as is the Castilian style soup. Their cheesecake is also excellent, very light and fluffy. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to truly enjoy food.

Wonderful cuts of beef seasoned to perfection, paired with amazing wine at fair prices. Our server was very professional. Set in the shadow of the historic cathedral square. Stairs lead you up to an intimate dining space with lots of light and views of the cathedral. A slice of old world charm in Avila. Get the chuletón (t-bone) and Castilian soup for a real treat.

Excellent restaurant with incredible meat from Avila on offer. I have had lot of steaks in my life but this was the best. The carpaccio was also perfect. It is in the perfect location, nice atmosphere, elegant, but not too elegant. And it is moderately priced.

Great food, much too bright and not very romantic. Would have liked to have been offered after dinner beverage. But was not. A good evening.

👍👍 It is a bar restaurant with homemade food. It currently has a menu of the day at €12.00, the beef fillets were large and it took very little time to serve the food. We recommend it.
