Just make sure to get a beach permit before you park at the beach. You can get one at the nearest Stripes. They're not expensive and they're good for a year; way cheaper than paying a fine. If you're gonna go on the weekend during peak season I would recommend getting there around 9 or 10 so you don't have to search for a parking spot on the beach. As for the beach, it's great for relaxing! Pretty clean and safe for swimming. Fun for fishing too.

Great place to start your morning with a beautiful sunrise! You can bring your vehicle right on the beach. If you forget to bring your umbrella, they are available to rent. They set it up for you for full day. There is a parking lot close to the beach, where you can use restroom or shower, clean beach toys before putting them back in your car. Overall, a nicely managed and maintained beach.

Nice sandy beach! The sand is so fine and soft here. Great beach for playing in the sand and little waves that constantly roll in. The water was brownish, but I think it was because of the fine sand that gets swept in and out and not something murky (if that makes sense lol). I'm sure it gets clearer if you go out further. We loved how you can pull your vehicle right up on the beach! We were able to find a spot right at the entrance which was nice because we only had our family van and wasn't sure if we could go further in. We did see a lot of cars making it though tho, so maybe it just depends if the sand is packed down or not? We also loved how there were a lot of families that were hanging around. Felt very family friendly!

Cleaner then Galveston but not Hawaii. Our kids loved playing in the soft sand and jumping over little waves. Neat that you can drive on the beach. Make sure you purchase $12 parking pass at most locak gas stations or there was a truck driving around beach at times. There was one bathroom along beach that i saw.

We have had some memorable times at this beach although at the time we visited in June 2023, seaweed had filled the shores on one of the days. Still it is one of our favorite beaches in the area. A few things to know: (1) You can drive and park on the beach and even open your SUV or hatchback and relax in the back. Watch for vehicles especially if you have young kids running around on the beach. (2) Remember to get a beach permit before you park though ($12 or so for a year) - available at the local IGA Market, Stripes stores or gas stations and avoid a hefty fine. (3) Great place to run or walk in the morning around 6:30 or 7:00 am and watch the sunrise (4) Come early between 9:00-10:00 am and avoid the crowds (5) Lot of good restaurants in the area also. (6) There are multiple entrances and exits to this beach and the beach is free to use (no entry fees) Enjoy!

During our Corpus Christi tour in 2021, along with South Padre, we thought of exploring North Padre Island too and we decided to visit Whitecap Beach after learning that you can drive your car on the beach (with a parking permit of course which costs $12 and is valid until the end of the year). If you don’t want to drive your car on the sand, there is a free parking lot. There is no entrance fee and it is open 24/7, all year long. Overnight camping is allowed on the beach, as well as beach fires and grills. The beach also offers fishing, biking, jogging, surfing, or walking along the beach. The beach offers free parking, clean facilities, showers, and dressing rooms to make your beach day even more enjoyable. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset while walking on the sugar-white and super-fine, velvety beach sand.

We went on a weekend and were surprised to find not a lot of people and plenty of parking. It turns out we needed a pass to enjoy this beach, which we didn’t find out about until the end of our excursion! I’m not sure how or where to get a beach pass, but I do recommend you finding out more about it because this place is beautiful! Maybe the pass deters crowds from entering because it was a great experience without all the people.

The beach is pretty clean and actively patrolled. Some rules are posted before you drive in (yes you can park on the beach!) If you dont have a parking permit you can purchase from one of the gas stations. Rated 4 because the fishers on the Jetty leave dead fish/old bait laying all across the walk way.

This beach was incredible we’ve been to Corpus Christi many times but never realized whitecap was such an amazing beach. Super clean, people respected keeping their distance and our kids had a blast. We were able to spread flowers as a memorial for my aunt who had just passed. It was absolutely beautiful

On the way to the beach, we stopped at the Stripes and bought the $12.00 beach pass when we filled our cooler full of ice and drinks. Great place for kites. The beach has a few porta potties if you need them. Enjoyed a short drive on the beach to find a spot to have a picnic and get a little beach therapy. Water was still cool but was nice to go barefoot and feel the sand under foot. Lots of coastal birds to enjoy. There were some small jellyfish to watch for on the beach but no worries. Several beach enforcement trucks patrolled while we were there.

We absolutely love this place! Clean, great family place! Our grandchildren loved it here! Bathrooms were decent for our grandkids, outdoor showers. The sand was so soft on you're feet. The waves we're great. Make sure you get a permit to park at the stripes store. Was fun to watch the 🐟 jumping out of the water! The full moon was AMAZING!

It was a great beach. My husband and son worse shirts in the water because someone had been stung by a jellyfish right before we went out. We had a great time! Do not forget sunblock!

First time at a drive up beach. Like that the place is well maintained meaning that beach is clean. From what I saw any car can be driven onto sand and parked at desired spot on beach. The sand was very soft and water nice and warm. Perfect beach weather in September. Lots of fun during my visit.

Awesome beach that you can drive and park next to you. There wasn’t any seaweed when we were there. My only suggestion is more rest rooms. Great sand and it’s shallow that children can enjoy the water with less fear. Golf cart friendly as well.

Very beautiful, nice and peace beach. Shallow and warm water, nice breeze, small wave. What else do you want? It’s definitely worth the parking permit price. We went for 2 days in a weekend. Saturday was quite crowded but Sunday had much less people on the beach. Will come here more next year.

Family friendly beach. Didn’t see any jellyfish at all. Has bathrooms, showers and trash cans everywhere. We got parking permit for $12 from park patrol who was driving by the beach. It was extra windy so we couldn’t grill or put a canopy up but we enjoyed ourselves.

Best Texas beach I've ever been to. Screw galveston! I could actually see my feet in the water! They also have showers down the way to rinse off when you're done, and they offer people bags for their trash to keep the beaches clean!

It was a nice clean beach! We saw man o war jelly fish, hermit crabs and plenty of those tiny beach clams. You can park on the beach with a pass. It’s $12 and it can be bought at one of the nearby stripes. Totally worth it, it’s good till the end of the year! Definitely be alert about the flag warnings.

Today was the first time I visit there. I highly recommend to buy parking ticket at the gas station near the beach before you enter the beach. Should bring umbrella

Enjoyed the place much. Area near the south packery channel jetty had relatively clear water than the other area we visited. Restroom is not available everywhere. The beach area east of the south packery channel has a restroom and a shower tap for quick rinse.

Pet-friendly and kid-friendly. There are portable restrooms by the beach entrance. You need a parking permit. We were staying nearby so we just walked, if you do the same place your things on the "parking row" so no one parks behind you and you pretty much have the entire space parallel to your stuff to yourself. There was a purple flag, which means venonous sea creatures, and we saw dead Portuguese Man 'o War. Fortunately, kiddo followed instructions and didn't touch any. I used a shovel to get them and put them the trash. The water was sandy but clean. The sand was fairly clean, although one of the days someone left cigarettes. It was a big windy, which makes it feel not as hot but beware around 11 am that sun will BURN even if you already have a tan. Even with SPF 50, my hubby got burned, especially by the feet since he was by the water often. It was a nice place for a mini beach vacation.

White Sandy beach that you can drive on and park. Great place for family and getaways. Be aware driving on the sand and what vehicle you have. 4x4’s are a bonus.
