I
had
the
opportunity
to
attend
a
traditional
Kathakali
show
at
the
Thirumeny
Cultural
Centre
and
it
was
a
truly
fascinating
experience.
The
show
focused
on
emotions
and
how
to
portray
them
through
body
movement
and
facial
expressions.
The
actors
were
dressed
in
typical
Kathakali
attire,
which
is
characterized
by
colorful
costumes
and
elaborate
makeup.
Throughout
the
performance,
the
actors
used
a
range
of
facial
expressions
and
body
language
to
convey
a
variety
of
emotions,
including
joy,
sadness,
anger,
and
fear.
The
musicians
provided
the
perfect
backdrop
for
the
performance,
helping
to
capture
the
mood
and
ambiance
of
the
show.
It
was
impressing
how
they
used
their
voices,
drums,
and
other
instruments
to
enhance
the
experience.
The
second
show
I
watched
was
Kalarippayat,
which
was
a
warrior
fight
performance
that
showcased
the
incredible
athletic
ability
and
skill
of
the
performers.
The
fight
sequences
were
intense
and
thrilling,
and
the
performers
displayed
incredible
strength
and
agility
as
they
executed
their
moves
with
precision
and
grace.
Overall,
both
shows
were
a
fantastic
cultural
experience
that
gave
me
an
insight
into
traditional
Indian
theatre
and
martial
arts.
I
would
highly
recommend
anyone
visiting
the
Thirumeny
Cultural
Centre
to
check
out
these
shows
for
an
unforgettable
evening
of
entertainment.
