My 2nd job has us in a different hotel every weekend throughout the NE US, so that's where I'm speaking from. I've stayed at worse hotels but I wouldn't choose to come back here unless I was homeless and they could work out a 900\mo deal. But even then I might just sleep in my car and shower at the gym to save money. You get 2 soaps that didn't tend to soap as intended, 1 shampoo slightly better. 2 towels, 2 medium & small rags. An ice bucket. Some plastic cups. TV. Bed. Trash can. Desk. Chair. Oh and tissues! They have WiFi that wasn't horrible. Nothing is horribly stained, cigarette burned, or extremely nasty. That might change if you get a room of one of the many long-term guests. I saw a bunch of cats & dogs in windows as well as Halloween decorations... This is however the 1st hotel I've been to that not only didn't allow a late checkout, free or paid (outside of Wildwood NJ) but the guy was pretty rude about it when he answered. From his tone to choice of words and body actions. Like I offended him. Checkout is at 11am and housekeeping walked into my room without knocking between 930-10am. Which wasn't a turndown service, that you will have to ask for and hope you don't offend the guy. You can walk to some light\fast food. Drink, cigarettes, alcohol, etc, within about 10 min, as well as the convention center. There are 2 great pizza places in the immediate vicinity that deliver as well. But you're getting bare minimum here, a rude manager, etc. There's another hotel just as close to the convention center with better hospitality for similar prices and opportunity distance. If you want a 2 star hotel without a 2 star experience...

The front desk staff are so rude.manager is an aggressive b....ch. The cleaning staff don't wear masks when they enter your room. I got corona in this hotel. You should call front desk million times that they come and clean the room. On Saturday nights no one is answering phone on front desk. There were big drug parties every Saturday nights with loud music. It is filthy and dirty and rude staff. The urine stains on restroom' door and urine stains of dogs on entrance door.rooms are so dark. No hairdryer. Small restroom. Very scary people. It is a hub for cheaters. Around 1pm I was hearing people had seks in next door. They were checking in same day and checking out next hour after finishing their job. Argh. Never again.

This place will give you the creeps. First room they gave me was occupied - when I walked in a couple was testing the bed springs. Second room smelled of cat or pet urine. Looks like the place is being used as long term living for many folks. It doesn’t feel safe, if you worry about that sort of thing. I dropped the keys at the front desk and went to the Holiday Inn that is just a mile or two down the road. Much, much better and just a few dollars more. Never stayed at a Red Roof Inn before, and now I know they aren’t for me.

Concerning Red Roof Plus Timonium 111 W Timonium Rd Timonium, MD Date of stay: 11/10-11/12 2023 Room: -Filled with a dozen or more flies -Nasty odor that smelled like decomposition in room -Roaches seen in sink and bathroom -Sounds of rodents in walls and ceiling -bathtub stopper broken -yellow liquid pooled at bottom of toilet -Dirty floors and mirrors -Sparking outlets -Shoddy repairs, such as the lampshade held on lamp with a twist tie -Door did not shut properly Facility: -suspicious dark red stains on walkway -inadequate number of handicapped parking spaces -Large amount of trash and debris scattered all around property -Outside trash can lacking lid (attracts vermin) -Person camped out in breezeway overnight, vomiting and talking to herself -Resident registered sex offender -Resident drug dealer (yes he offered drugs) -Guest with multiple aggressive dogs in room despite policy of one pet per room. There were multiple rooms with more than one pet -Guest walking pit bulls dogs off leash -Food placed outside for feral cats (attracts more vermin) -Rude, unhelpful and disinterested manager and front desk staff- over 20 minutes to check in, being waved away when I went to the front desk with a concern -Disregard for state and local laws and ordinances During our stay I was walking my small dog in the parking lot when she was attacked, suddenly and unprovoked, by another guest’s aggressive dog. This guest did nothing to prevent this attack. He was walking 2 dogs at the time, one off leash and one on an inadequate leash. He did not have and keep a secure hold on the leash nor have any control at all over the dog. His dog ripped my dog out of my arms and did considerable damage to her. The front desk staff did nothing, even when asked for help in finding the closest emergency vet. It wasn’t much different when I spoke with the manager a few days later. In addition to calling me “sir” she claimed there was no liability on their part whatsoever, seemed to suggest I was somehow at fault, and strongly implied I was a liar. She also failed to address any of the complaints about the room, the staff, or the facility. She was extremely unprofessional and downright rude, not allowing me to finish a sentence but instead repeatedly cutting me off and insisting I was wrong. She seemed deeply insulted that I wasn’t over the moon with the refund for our room cost. Due to the negligence of the attacking dog’s owner and the gross negligence of the Red Roof Plus staff in allowing this dangerous situation to exist, we are now dealing with thousands of dollars in vet bills and lost wages. The motel has now ceased communications with me. To sum up, a cave would have been safer, cheaper, far less traumatizing, and more comfortable. Unless you’re looking for a crime-ridden no-tell motel that looks like it belongs in a Rob Zombie movie then I strongly recommend giving this place a hard pass.

Filthy as all Indian owned motels and hotels. This is not a hotel. It is a motel. You see animal urines on doors and walls. The staff are very disorganized. The manager and front desk are so rude. The cleaning staff dont care if you say you dont need cleaning. They even opened the door when I didnt have dress. Im going to file against this motel for that reason.

Room was very clean. Bathroom sink is spa like not the bathroom, no complimentary snack box. Big reason for star down. Only the person making the reservation can check in. No spouses and credit card must be in the name of the check in person. However they will happily cancel a reservation without the person there that made it. Very odd. They said the couldn't verify my husband was allowed to check in for me. But they gladly let him cancel the reservation under my name and then book his own room. Picture of bed was before we touched it. Great price compared to Baltimore rates and right off 83 after reading the response from the location - 1 - they should advise guests when they are making the reservation that only the name on the credit card is allowed to check in, no spouses. We were crystal clear on the phone when we were not able to make the reservation on line due to their technical difficulties. Each individual family member has to become a member of the red roof club in order to get the discount. Singles hotel instead of a family one.

Worst place I ever ben in and the guy at the front desk was sleeping, then was very rude when he finally woke up, and to make things even worst we spotted a roach while entering the room so we checked the mattress and there were bed bugs all over the bed we ask for another room witch Mr sleepy wanted to give us a hard time about that. So we just requested a refund and went to another/better hotel

Not a great place to stay. Mattress was old and cheap felt the springs when sat it. Needs to be replaced. Cracks in the ceiling from water damage not fixed very well and air conditioner looks like it was there from the 50’s dirty and rusted. Noisy all night All staff could say was sorry 😞. Not a great stay.

Filthy. Nasty. Dangerous .Very disordered.dry up pee on the walls and doors. Internet very slow. Flies inside room. The manager doesn't care about your requests and gives false confirmation when you ask for something. I asked for first floor nut she gave third floor room while there were rooms available on first floor. The room close to my room, the fan was making horrible noise and I couldnt sleep. They never fixed it. The days they must clean the room, they don't show up and the days they should not show up , they open the door, no matter on which situation you are. Every Saturday there is drug party there. Once 10 people were in adjacent room and didn't let me sleep until morning until I threatened to call police to shut them up. No need to mention that no-one was on front desk on Saturday night. Also another day there was an alcoholic person in next door and I told manager to tell him to go inside instead of shouting outside. She didn't care about my request. Here is a bad omen nasty place to stay that is owned by an Indian guy.

AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS! I can honestly say this was the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever had. There were already several negative reviews of this place, but also a few good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Based on the price point, as well as Red Roof's business model, my expectations were reasonable (clean bed, clean bathroom, safe conditions). I didn't need a breakfast, didn't even need Wi-Fi, just a place for my son and I to rest between lacrosse tournament days. To check in, I had to speak with the staff member through a security-type window with a small opening barely large enough to slide room keys or credit cards through, even though what seemed like a decent lobby was closed for cleaning. (?) The staff member who checked me in was very short and had no employee identification whatsoever besides the fact he was behind a locked security window. In fact he was wearing a track suit. I had no choice but to pay for my two nights in advance .. I've never had to do that before. After getting my room key cards (which were bent), I walked past several rooms which wreaked of marijuana to get to my room (220) which had dog poop in front of the door. To no surprise, the keys did not work. I went back to the staff member, who angrily asked me what room number I was in (even though only a few moments had passed). I was immediately given two new key cards (like .. immediately) which means I was either initially given the wrong keys on purpose, or that it was a mistake but he wanted me to come back again and ask. That seemed very strange. Upon entering the room, you could smell the stale stench of cigarettes, alcohol and marijuana. The beds were made and the sheets appeared to be clean. There was no remote for the TV, and several gnats were near the curtains. The shower head leaked, kicking a stream of water back onto the wall which had been eroded away (hence the gnats). The vinyl floor was free from debris, but did have small sticky spots. At this point, my son and I just wanted to get some rest, so we slept with our clothes on and planned to shower in the morning. Despite the leaking showerhead, the shower was great. Sink worked fine as well. It was a cold morning that was going to warm up quickly by mid afternoon, so since we packed light, and considering our experience thus far, I decided to bring our belongings with us so my son could change between games. I placed the "Privacy Please" card on the door based on what's transpired thus far. As we left the room, we were greeted by the same dog poop from the day before. When we returned that evening, not only were we greeted by that same dog poop, but found the Privacy placard removed, and our room door propped open by the fold-over privacy lock. We entered the room to see if anyone was there (nobody was) and then immediately left the property and stayed that night with one of our team families. Thank goodness we brought our belongings with us. I'd certainly like my money back, but most most importantly make the public aware of our attempted stay at this hotel. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!

The room is not great. Looks like it's been through a lot. The floor and bathroom sink look updated. The shower had hot water and good pressure but the curtain was gross. The outlets had no covers on them. The TV volume was stuck, couldn't turn it up. AC unit was cold but it was rusted and the filter was filthy black so I assume I breathed that in all night. Homeless people outside asking for money. People in room next door were smoking weed and I was smelling it the entire time. It is a convenient location, right off the highway. But convenient doesn't always mean good. Thankfully the parking lot was illuminated all night long. The lady who checked me in was busy gossiping with another lady about a coworker who called out. She didn't really pay me any attention. Maybe she just hates her job. The guy on check out was cool though. I wouldn't stay here again, but if you're on a tight budget it might work.

This motel was truly disgusting. Got into my room and there was dead roaches and live roaches in the fridge and in the room. We had no working phone, no remote for the TV and it smelled so very bad. Several people came down to the office stating that there was bed bugs in their room and that some even has mice. The front desk is so unorganized with only 1 person working! Will never book here again

i paid a little over 100 dollars a night because it was pet friendly. It was not worth it. The room I had smelled of stale smoke. I had to go purchase odoban to attempt to rid the odor. Many locals stay here on the lower level and hang out. I saw needles in the garbage out back by the dog area. I did not feel safe. And if that wasn’t bad enough, as we were loading our belongings into our vehicle, the front desk locked our keys before 11. The check out on the door says 12. Never again will we be staying here.

Man! The elevator tech secretly pleaded with me not to use the elevators. They scam you with the “premium rooms” which is no different than the regular rooms, all the shower heads are of poor quality. The manager “Mr. Patel” knocked on my door at 10pm in plainclothes asking if i’d left sidewalk chalk markings on the ground outside my room. I said yes, my son and I were making the best of our time. He rudely insisted i wash it away, I suggested the rain would take care of it. He then ordered me to leave the property immediately and gleefully stated that he would keep whatever money was left on my reservation. It was almost midnight, and just me and my 5 yr old autistic son. I’ve never experienced such unbridled evil in a customer service experience. Red Roof corporate offered no support, because they are a franchise. I didn’t know humans could behave in such a callous manner. Red Roof Inn is dead to me. I tell everyone i encounter to AVOID THIS COMPANY AND ALL ITS LOCATIONS.

We travel a lot with our beagle/Bassett hound Bailey. She is a rescue ❤️ miracle with her own pacemaker. RedRoof Inn has always provided free pet friendly rooms. Bailey enjoys laying on her pet bed at the foot of our king. The room was clean, the room reservation said there was a hair dryer. There wasn't, and since we had a handicap room, it was too difficult to go back to the front desk and ask. The cleaning crew was very kind, and although we didn't ask for our room to be cleaned, the did give us fresh towels and washcloths.

Spent the last 3 nights here. The guest next door must have been running a nighttime kennel from the room because every night the were several dogs barking through the night until 3 o 4 AM. Got very little sleep because of it. Got in the room and saw towels on floor (probably from previous guests). Had to go to a store and buy new towels to use.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and I must say, I am very disappointed with the way they handled my request for an invoice. When I made my booking, I had specifically requested an invoice through the special request section. Unfortunately, upon my arrival, I was not provided with the requested invoice, and instead, I was told by a lady at the front desk that it would be waiting for me in the morning. The next morning, when I approached the front desk to collect my invoice, I was met with a different response. Two staff members informed me that they were unable to issue the invoice for me. This was not only frustrating but also a clear breach of the commitment made by their staff upon my arrival. To address the issue, I was given a card with the manager's phone number and email address. I promptly wrote to the provided contacts but received no reply whatsoever. I also attempted to reach out through their official email and the booking platform, but, once again, I received no response. This level of unresponsiveness and inability to provide a simple invoice for business purposes is not only inconvenient but also goes against the legal duty of providing invoices when requested. It's essential for any hotel to fulfill such requests promptly and efficiently, especially when guests rely on these documents for their business needs. Overall, my experience with this hotel's handling of my invoice request has left me extremely dissatisfied. The lack of communication and failure to meet a basic obligation has marred what could have otherwise been a pleasant stay. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves their customer service and responsiveness in the future.

Several of us were there for 2 weeks for work, they clean the rooms maybe twice during that period. Several rooms had major issues. A raging from cracked showers toilets it didn't flush properly broken bathroom doors and crack toilets.

My girlfriend and I have stayed here 5 yrs in a row for the Beer, Bourbon and Barbecue event at the fairgrounds. If not for the excellent location and low price we would never stay here. It is sufficient for a place to crash after a day of drinking, but it could use a remodel. It is clean and good for what it is.

I use a wheelchair part time and after check in ask were the elevator was.Told us near the room.I get to the elevator and it's broke and it's the only elevator.I had to leave my wheelchair out in car and go up the steps. I end up leaving my wheelchair out in car and I shouldn't have to .I had to walk up the steps . The next day I end trying to get money back for the next night first the guy tell me he can't do it than all the sudden tell me he can. This is against ADA standard

Nice surprise, thought getting close to Baltimore would be sketchy but pleasantly surprised. Easy off/on, good parking, friendly front desk, great room w/nice TV & comfortable bed, definitely stay next time thru town.

It should be called Red Roof Inn MINUS. rooms are not as big as they look in pics. Bathroom is tiny. I'm exactly 5 feet tall, if I laid down on the floor I would have to bend my knees in order to fit. Broken lamp shade. Light bulb out over bed. No coffee maker. One usable outlet behind the night table. Two clothes hangers and on and on. The only good thing was the person that checked us in (gold caps). Don't know his name. Very professional and helpful.

The clerk was very friendly and welcoming! The neighborhood is safe and quiet but the rooms are nasty. We saw a roach crawl into the wall behind the toilet and several other bugs around the room. As soon as we walked into the hotel room all you could smell was cigarette smoke.

  • 2/5 Tom R. 1 year ago on Google
Room had flies in it and smelled like cigarettes. Had to buy a room freshener and fly swatter. Lysol spray didn’t do the trick. Room freshener didn’t make a dent. Mattresses were very old. Heating/AC unit needs to be replaced. I didn’t take pictures which I regret. Positive the room refrigerator stayed cold. I won’t be staying here again. I rather sleep in my vehicle.

It’s not the worst experience I’ve had at a Red Roof Inn but the smoke detector in my room had been pulled off, the light above my head wasn’t working and the coffee maker, with a cord that went into a cutout behind the fridge, was unplugged. And when I tried to plug it in somewhere else, it still didn’t work. Noise through the wall facing the walkway is a bit of a factor, too. But thankfully, I was facing the office buildings, not Timonium Road.

I completely understand that I'm not able to get pillows after what seems to be 5pm. But the front desk attendant didn't need to raise his voice. He practically yelled at me. I understand that red roof isn't a top tier establishment, but still. Oh and expect roaches. I've seen one but the one inch space under my door doesn't help...

  • 3/5 Angela E. 1 year ago on Google
It was ok. Not the red roof in I remember. They took pride in there business. At the end I dropped the key off at 10:15 a.m and the female at the front desk was on the phone and did not give me any receipt. She just told me to put the key on the desk. I don’t wanna no one saying I stayed pass my time.

It is old and run done but the room was clean no bugs. And price was extremely reasonable. And after being up for 22 hours. It was a perfect place to be safe for a nap. The check in attendant was so helpful and kind.

They dont honor the traditional "week" as a 7 day stay, and charged me $100 more then the sign says. When I ask why the price difference they told me that the sign is only for 5 days. Last i remember, a week definition was 7 days. Very poor management, customer service, had to wait 2 days just to have my garbage removed from in front of my door. Then had to request a new garbage can since they never returned it.

This is by far a nice hotel but this is the second day in a row an I told them we need our room clean an fresh towels. I’m mad I dont have clean towels an I’m getting in at 2 am when all I want to do is shower an it’s cold who wants to go to the front desk where they are extremely slow so I’m furious now I’ll have to call an make sure some one cleans the room when I leave a bit much if u ask me.

  • 1/5 J B. 2 years ago on Google
It is a definite no frills kind of place. I was going to give it two stars because I could deal with the traffic, the meh bed, the door handle to the bathroom that was lose and wouldn’t open the bathroom door without jimmy-ing it, and even the extremely rude front office guy who just sat on his phone behind a security glass window while the lobby was “closed”. But I could not FATHOM my door being left open (security latch placed in closed position then door closed, essentially propping the door open) after housekeeping had been through. I’m glad I took my valuables with me. I’m not sure what the point of that is but I have NEVER experienced that before EVER in my life. I have stayed in some JANKY places before and even they will close the door properly upon cleaning! If you’re going to stay here for one night, just know it’s a roof over your head for the night. If you’re staying here for a multi-night stay TAKE YOUR THINGS WITH YOU when you leave for the day or better yet, go somewhere else…

You get what you pay for. It's right on busy roads. I stayed in their premium room, but it was missing anything extra... Like coffee maker, iron, etc. They brought up a coffee maker for me though. The door had huge gaps around it (picture of door at night from inside the room). The door leads to outside, so you can feel the wind blowing in and noise. The room was worn but clean. The front desk staff were also nice.

  • 2/5 George M. 2 years ago on Google
Room had no amenities, no fridge, microwave or coffee maker, no smoking room, yet plastic toilet seat had several cigarette burn marks. The door security latch was broken and useless. There was a mirror on the wall behind the door, it was in a place that reflects light coming in around the curtains and reflected in the face of the person in the bed closest to the window and door. I have stayed there a little over a year ago and it had several of the afore mentioned amenities. Really gone down hill. Will not be back
