I had wanted to give The Kitchen a shot for a while and finally made it happen. Overall, I was pretty happy with the food. The initial small bites and first plate were really not anything special (or downright not good) and I was a little worried at first, but some of the later plates made up for that for the most part. While the service was friendly, we were off in a corner and I felt like our table was not particularly well attended to. We were wanting more of certain things and most of the time never had the opportunity to ask without flagging people down. Meanwhile we saw other tables (or couples at the bar) getting MUCH more attention, special plates made for them, etc. We left dissatisfied in this regard especially for the amount of money we paid, there are some other restaurants in Sacramento that are near or perhaps surpass The Kitchen's food & service, in my opinion, for substantially less money. I think if I were to go again it would have to be solo or as a couple and try to get a seat at the bar. That experience seemed superior. Keep in mind the high drink prices, 22% mandatory gratuity, and then tax on top of that whole bill. Most of us left with a cost of ~$300 per person and we certainly weren't buying the higher end wines on the menu!

This was our first time at The Kitchen after hearing about it for years from friends and tonight was an incredible experience! I was blown away by the asparagus — ASPARAGUS! We didn’t really know what to expect from this level of fine dining and were unsure if the dishes would be too sophisticated for our palate but the first dish of asparagus showed us what we’ve been missing! The quality ingredients and sauces tasted so clean yet had rich, complex flavors. The evening was definitely off to an impressive start as that was the most memorable plate of asparagus I’ve ever enjoyed! It appeared we were the only ones to bring our child tonight and our 10-year-old loved it! She can be finicky with certain foods and vegetables at home, but she was a big fan of the asparagus dish, as well as the oysters (trying it for the first time), and the beef medallion (enjoying two servings). The wonton in pea purée was also spectacular. Peas never tasted this good before! Our family really enjoyed the evening together and we are so happy to experience The Kitchen. Before tonight we were also concerned whether we could slog through 4-5 hours of dining but the time flew by. The pacing was perfect and there’s so much going on in front of you and in the kitchen that you don’t pay attention to the time. The service is extremely attentive, courteous, and welcoming. The combination of amazing food and impeccable service results in a very comfortable way to spend the evening. Thank you to the chefs, managers, and entire team for such a perfect and memorable night!

Had dinner here tonight for the first time and it was amazing. Hard to describe all the layers of flavor in each dish. Even items that were not necessarily our favorites you could still tell the quality was there. Loved seeing a huge bundle of truffles in a wood box and yes they tasted even better shaved all over exquisite gnocchi. I'm a big guy and the small portions of rich food still fill you up. They encourage you to ask for more or a repeat course if you didn't get enough. I recommend waiting until the end though before you order more just to see how you are feeling. We were beyond full and happy. Loved the little surprise offerings throughout the night Update: dinner for the second time and in the new location. More space, great food, and people felt even more comfortable getting involved with the team. We really enjoyed watching other guests learn to sear scallops and plate tenderloin.

This is a very exciting and unique dining experience. There is an amazing and fun atmosphere and the chef does a fantastic job of being a big personality, an educator, and a party host. He will bend over backward to make the experience a memorable one for you. At the end of the day, my wife and I had a great time and ate a lot of food we otherwise never would have outside of a Michelin rated restaurant but a lot of the foods were just a bit too rich for us. We definitely didn't leave hungry but we weren't 'stuffed' either... just "done". I've had enough butter to last me until Thanksgiving 😁. Between dinner and the wine flight for two, we neared $750 out the door and to us, that is a lot of money for an experience that was more than memorable but just not really out thing. Our one big gripe was at $125/pp for the wine flight, they forgot our first drink, we asked about it 2x and both times we were told we would get it later but never did. Again, long story short; glad to say we did it, it was an experience but not something either of us will likely do again. I'd persuade others to try it, however. It was just a little lost on us for the price.

This was a dinner like no other. Not a stuffy high priced restaurant; they want people to enjoy their food how the diners wanted to. Each course was a well executed, technically complex, perfect bites. We did the wine pairing, which elevated the taste of the dishes. You could ask for seconds. You could ask for the courses out of order. The service was perfectly timed with the pace of the meal, and I truly felt like this was our own fancy kitchen with personal chefs at home. We walked around to watch how the dishes were plated and spoke to the staff as to how they're made. I see why The Kitchen is a draw to everyone.

This is an believable restaurant. The dining experience is something I’ve never experienced before, and I’ve trained all over the world. The chef creates the atmosphere by welcoming everyone and giving a brief, but humorous explanation of the restaurant. All patrons are welcome to walk around and see the meals being created and all questions. They also provide hors d’ oeuvres as you’re walking around. There is a kitchen in the back, open for viewing at all times for small plate prep and a kitchen in the front where many sit at the counter watching the hot dishes being made. I recommend sitting where you can see the back kitchen because it’s amazing to watch seven people prepare one dish. Each has their own responsibility for the dish. See photos.

Absolutely Breathtaking, Extremely satisfying and a Very filling, 8 course meal. There were so many different flavors, textures and aromas perfectly paired to provide me with the Best Culinary experience that I have ever had. Plus the Chef is absolutely hilarious. You definitely will not be left disappointed. Can't wait to visit again.

If you have not been to "The Kitchen," MICHELIN starred restaurant, and you're a foodie.. you love to cook , drink, and eat. You have to go to this restaurant at least once. I had a six course meal with a cocktail pairing and dessert. This was hands down one of the best dining experiences that I've ever had.

This is one of the best restaurants and it's our absolute favorite. The quality of the ingredients, the beautiful presentation, and the taste of each dishes are extraordinarily delicious. There's no word to describe the experience, you just have to come and see it for yourself. You can and will enjoy, relax, laugh, and have fun at The Kitchen. Special thanks to Chief Kelly and his whole team. You guys are amazingly talented. Thank you for all your wonderful delicious dishes. We really appreciated all that you did and allowed us to be part of it.

We dined for their early fall menu and loved it. There are a lot of moving parts to The Kitchen. This location feels more intimate than the previous one. Something about being right around laundromat and Taco Bell really felt like we stepped into our own littler universe for 4-5 hours. We sat at the counter and felt comfortable. Their staff is lovely and so attentive.

It was a good experience but not sure we will try it again. Yea there were a lot of flavors but it was all kind of the same. Potato and spinach puree. 1st course was asparagus, potatoe puree w truffles. 2nd was a dumpling on puree of peas. Then beef with potatoe puree. I was full but felt full on the richness of everything (potatoe?) You could order seconds but I didn't feel like it. Wine pairing was 125 a person. So whole course was 300+. It was an experience but nothing I will be craving to come back to.

Incredible experience all around! Every dish was memorable and the cocktails and wines were beautifully paired. Love being able to explore the kitchen and that you could always ask for more! Service was over the top. Amazing!

Amazing food, service and entertainment! You won't leave hungry, you can have as much of any of the courses as you want! They even let you stroll through the kitchen where they have random things to snack on before and between courses.

It was such a pleasant experience! I had some specific food restriction, but they modified the menu accordingly. We will be coming back. Highly recommended! I'd like to add that reservations cannot be canceled or modified. If one of the friends cannot make it, you can pass the reservation to a different person for the same day, but they don't have a system of reimbursement or modifying a reservation.

I've been here twice and it was stellar both times. The service is beyond impeccable, the chef is a ton of fun, and the food is the best part. There are no words to describe how much I love this place. It is worth every dollar.

A true dining experience! Reservations are a must and there is a waiting list so get on the phone and make yours now. Staff is amazing and it's entertaining just to observe the fine dining details and how efficient this operation runs. Chef Kelly has a michelan star and the food this evening reflected his talents. Make the commitment and enjoy a 4 hour dining experience like no other!

1st time experience at the kitchen. Beautiful ambience, especially sitting at the counter with full view of the chefs workings. Outstanding service, never went more than a few minutes without staff checking on our every need. The drinks specialist gave us a cellar tour and shared her extensive wine knowledge. Chef Kelly is so charismatic and hilarious! The food is simply amazing!

Legendary experience. You get to walk around trying appetizers/amuse bouches between courses. Completely open kitchen and you’re welcome to visit anywhere. Unparalleled service and exquisite food quality and drink pairings. More food than one can eat and yet you can double on courses if you choose—unlimited food. Somehow all done without the snobbery. Reservations are required. Set aside 3.5 to 4 hours.

This is a 4 hour dining experience and you can order seconds. Before the start of service there are plenty of appetizers peppered around the kitchen for you to graze. Cocktail and mocktail pairings are additional. Teas and coffee are complimentary. The lavender ginger tea I had was aromatic and flavorful; best herbal tea I’ve had yet. Staff are very helpful, friendly and encouraging. They encourage conversations, tasting of food, helping in the kitchen, and welcome all interactions.

Love the vibe on their new location. Impeccable food and service as always. But what makes The Kitchen what it is, is the people not the place! It is and will remain forever our favorite buffet restaurant! 😉😁

An amazing experience. Each time I've gone has been different, with the menu reflecting whatever is fresh, but the chef and his team always provide an awesome meal. The most impressive part is how they adapt for dietary restrictions, from vegetarian, pescatarian, or even just low dairy.

The best food I’ve ever had. This was the second time coming to the kitchen, but first time at their new location and it was just as amazing!! The new location is great since it offers much more room to explore and roam around the kitchen. They offer great food, service, and entertainment the entire time. Highly recommend
