Came to view the building, stayed for service. I'm not catholic but felt very welcome here. Obviously I had no clue what the protocols were but I was able to fumble my way along. Very interesting and heartfelt service. Beautiful cathedral with small gift shop downstairs.

The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento, California is a stunning example of neo-Renaissance architecture. On a beautiful day, the cathedral's white marble exterior gleams in the sunlight, and its twin towers soar against the blue sky. The cathedral's most striking feature is its massive dome, which is topped by a golden cross. The dome is flanked by two smaller domes, and the entire structure is topped by a series of ornamental pinnacles and spires. The cathedral's facade is also richly decorated, with a large central portico and two smaller side porticoes. The porticoes are supported by Corinthian columns, and the entablature above is decorated with a relief of the Last Supper. The cathedral was built in the late 19th century, during a time of great growth and prosperity for Sacramento. The city was the capital of the California Gold Rush, and it was attracting people from all over the world. The cathedral was built to serve the growing Catholic population of the city, and it quickly became one of Sacramento's most iconic landmarks.

What a beautiful cathedral! When you walk in, it only takes a moment to realize how much detail is in everything! From the ceiling paintings, to the sculptures, to the woodworking. It was awe inspiring. It’s in a great location that’s easy to get to (there’s a streetcar that stops right outside) and it’s definitely worth the visit if you love architecture!

A Roman Catholic church in downtown Sacramento, built in 1889, this spectacular structure is a monument to creative, gold rush era architecture, blending Italian Renaissance with a Victorian interior. If you like expressive architecture, this church is a must see. It has many ministries, multiple services every day, attracting locals and visitors alike. Riding by on my bike on an almost daily basis is one of the reasons I live here, and, over the years have attended many events.

The light is absolutely beautiful, the geometric construction is also outstanding, how can't a cathedral be so gorgeous. It's a place that only with natural light is calmly hypnotic, if you go to a place looking for peace, you'll find it here with the Blessed Sacrament. The only thing is the acoustic, I seat back at the last row and I couldn't understand the words, is so majestic.

Very nice church and not too crowded. Is in the middle of downtown Sacramento. It's easy to get here and lots of parking around the area.

If you enjoy historic architecture, this is a beautiful Church worth checking out. I cannot speak to the quality of services as I have not attended one. The Dome, over 32 meters high, however, is very beautiful and it is interesting the way the city has built the newer buildings around it to blend.

As Catholics we are called to partake in some sort of pilgrimage during our faith journey. The Holy Land, Fatima and or Rome may be on most of our bucket lists. However we have many beautiful, holy and faith filled destinations here in the lower 48 and locally here in Nor.Cal. The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Sacramento is a wonderful way to celebrate our faith and engage in some way of pilgrimage to a Holy place of worship. Highly recommend visiting.

Beautiful church, convenient weekday Masses. It's also nice that you have the option to remain in the church after Mass, as this is the time when the janitor comes in to clean. It's a nice time for quiet prayer. I highly recommend a visit.

This beautiful Cathedral is by far one of my most favorite places to visit in all of Sacramento. I always feel a large, comforting presence when I enter the front door and it is so tranquil and peaceful inside. The beauty is overwhelming.

This is a beautiful Cathedral. The choir and organist were especially good this week at 10am mass. A bit more of a formal service with altar servers and deacon along with a priest. I like the incense, singing the Kyrie, Gloria, Lord's Prayer etc.Fr. O'Riley does a good homily. I believe they have tours on Sundays. If you are visiting Sacramento, definitely check out the peace here.

Very beautiful church, the chior was excellent. Mass was somewhat revenant other than the strange homily about the priests dog. The priest also came down into the audience during the peace and hugged everyone in the front row. Honestly, the priest seems a bit out of touch and a little weird. I don’t see this guy inspiring vocations to the priesthood. Shame.

I am not a Catholic, I accompanied an 80 year old lady up from her home in Mexico who wished to attend a Catholic church. Many of the local churches said on their Face Book pages, " Closed until Monday" and then a time. I was surprised by the numbers that were closed. Closed during the week yes but Sunday closing for a church is probably a sign of the times. When we left the lady was very happy she had gotten to church as she missed some services. When we walked back to the car she had a spring to her feet and a beaming smile. She said she felt replenished and ready to take on the world. Which made me happy, I was just glad we found a church open on a Sunday but a long way from Yuba City as all those listed said closed!

Beautiful Church! The acoustics make it hard to hear if you sit in the church but still a great place to attend for mass.

Totally worth a visit. Although closed with the current lock-down, once it opens again be certain to enter and be part of the good energy. Amazing archaic tiles and art work. And a dove above. If you’re one to attend services, they are happening now I believe. 🙏

Beautiful old cathedral that unfortunately is inundated with homeless population. I walked down from the capital at 8:30am on a Wednesday morning. It is about 3 blocks away, about a block from the capitol things start to drastically change after Starbucks with police presence. Once past the next street it was devoid of people execpt for transients. At the building itself, it was still closed and several men started yelling at me and coming towards me as I looked the tourist part. I would avoid going at night or during early morning hours or if you are a lady by yourself.
