The cleanest lake I’ve ever seen (it empties and refills itself 7 times per year!). Having been blessed to spend summers here my entire life, it’s filled with some of my happiest and most stress-free memories. It’s literally my favourite place on earth.

The captain took me on a wonderful afternoon cruise on this remote lake. This lake is massive and the captain navigated his craft like a true professional. Recommend.

A favourite lake of mine in the area. The water is always warm in August and so clear/clean. Cameron lake is much colder. I would go early to reserve a spot as the beach there fills up quick.

Beautiful lake. Lots to explore. You can be social with others or find a spot all to yourself. Many nice areas for recreational water activities or just floating

Every few years I pass Sproat Lake to and from Tofino. It always looks inviting. This trip I did some research and discovered there are beautiful petroglyphs here. We scheduled a visit into our return drive and am so happy I did. The petroglyphs were fabulous, the walk there served as a great stretch from the drive and it's a perfect place for a lunch picnic. It will be a permanent part of our routine now. We even came across one of the park staff. He was so happy and friendly.

Can be accessed by 2WD if your carefull. Lots of turnouts to park and some spots for camping, but can be full. The views over the lake are glorious! A bit chilly, but worth a swim on a hot day too!

Sproat Lake is a picturesque serene lake located in the Alberni Valley of Central Vancouver Island, Canada. It is about 5 km drive outside the town of Port Alberni and just off Highway No.4. It has roughly 90 km of shoreline with beautiful mountains around it. In summer there are holiday makers who bring their outboard motors and can be spotted water skiing or fishing in the clear lake. There are many beautiful wooded bungalows on the lake shore where the owners come to spend the summer vacations. One can spot the vintage Martian Mars type waterbombers parked on one of the shores. The lake also has three provincial parks on its shores; Sproat Lake Provincial Park, Taylor Arm Provincial Park and Fossilli Provincial Park. We visited the Alberni Valley in June-2019.

My friends drove me here on October 23, 2019. The autumn leaves were what I wanted to see in visiting Canada in October. The trees, leaves and the lake here fully met my expectations!
