I appreciated the arepas which were really good, made with tasty ingredients. However, I was disappointed with their small size, which is why I’m removing a star.

I found Tumatey on our trip to Barcelona and could not have been more impressed. The food is terrific and we trusted our server to pick our meals. I’ve never had Venezuelan cuisine, but am now a huge fan. Loads of vegan options as well. The dining room is small, but cozy and the staff bends over backwards to make sure your are comfortable and well fed. I give Tumatey my absolute highest recommendation!

A lovely Venezuelan family owned place that I highly highly recommend. I love their traditional tequeños and maíz ones. They have a wide variety of arepas with vegan options as well. I recommend to order a side of their sugar cane lemonade, it pairs well with arepas and tequeños. Moreover, the service is extremely good, the staff are really kind and nice. The place is small and often gets packed very fast, so I’d recommended to book in advance.

My husband and I are only in Barcelona for 4 days and we are SO glad Tumatey’s was one of the restaurants we got to try! The service was fast & our waiter couldn’t have been any nicer. This was our first experience with Venezuelan food, and we fell in love with the tequeños and arepas (tequeños not pictured in photo bc we ate them too fast). I took my friends to this amazing place, so they can taste I little of Venezuela cuisine, we have a great time , the lady who served us was super nice and friendly, last but not least the food was beyond amazing and super tasty.

It was my first time trying the traditional Venezuelan Pabellon Criollo dish and was not disappointed . The staff made me feel at home and made me feel a part of there atmosphere. The experience there made me want to try Venezuelan food back home in NY but also it makes me feel unlucky since it can't be at Tumatey until I come back to Spain one day.

Probably the best place in Barcelona for Venezuelan food! I really recommend the Arepas, Tequeños and the Maracuya Juice - so delicious! Also the staff is so nice, warm-hearted and attentive, it's incredible! The restaurant is cozy, green and lovely decorated with attention to details. The restaurant is very small (enough room for about 12 people inside) so make sure to book ahead and the service is quite slow but very friendly.

I got the shredded beef arepa with plantain and black beans (which was one of the bestsellers) and was happy to gorge myself till I almost burst on it?? My friend also got their passion fruit mojito and it was amazing. Our total bill was only 32€ with one appetiser, two arepas and two drinks :)
