Nice trek close to Poppi. You can reach Pratomagno by a good condition road and park directly there. About 20 minutes to reach the peak. From there there are seval path, as you can see in the photos. Easy and recommended also for families. You can have a very nice view of the area (possible to see Transimeno lake or Florence). At the parking sport there is also a place where you can make your own barbecue. Recommended to stop for lunch at Paneolio in Quota, really typical and cheap place.

I would say this was one of the more magical experiences of my families trip to Italy. We are buying a house close to the area so we did our best to explore everywhere we could. We were there around 7pm and it was perfect. None of us were prepared, we wore flip flops and crocs lol. Next time I would bring a little picnic up there, and maybe some carrots for the horses. I highly recommend the trip to the cross.

Great, stunning overview of the tales... If you drive up by the car, be aware of gravel pit the last 8km. Otherwise nice place to hike and barbeque availability at the parking area.

Enchanting path on the top of a mountain. You can choose different starting points more or less long/hard to reach the cross. The view is spectacular

Superb views on Valdarno and Casentino valleys. Easily accessible, also with small children and buggy.

Nice walk up to the Cross, following the walking trail. Great view on top, on a good day you can see really far into the countryside. But when it is humid, the view is more limited. Be aware that it's much cooler on top than in the valley! We had about 18°C on top, while it was about 33°C in the valley.

If you come to Casentino Valley, take a few hours out of your schedule and go hike up to this place. It's best enjoyed at sunset. Breathtaking!

there are hundreds of photos of the cross, but few of the way to get there. we are at an altitude of 1500 meters, the climb is nothing impossible and the arrival is worth the effort

This is a very cool hike. We parked at the bottom and did the 3km up and down. Easy hike! Highly recommend to anyone in the area. It’s also free so that’s always a plus.
