Excellent pieces, just wish it were bigger. Paid 750 pesos and went through in about an hour (would have been nice for them to discount on the weekend like the National Museum of Fine Arts does). Lovely collection though.

My museum experience was truly impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed the new art exhibition. The collection on display was captivating, and the curation was top-notch. I found myself immersed in the world of art, and it left a lasting impression on me. If you're an art enthusiast, I highly recommend visiting this museum and exploring their fantastic exhibitions. Must visit, if you have time in Buenos Aires

Well curated and organized, clean, a lot to see, and comfortably air conditioned. The only thing I found is that every staff member I interacted with seemed unhappy with life. The upstairs cafe needs some love, as we decided not to have a coffee because there was trash on almost all the tables, and the staff was dismissive and just conversing amongst themselves. Either way, just come for the art.

This was an interesting Art Museum with different exhibits. The entrance fee was inexpensive and worth the quick visit. We enjoyed the coffee/dessert & service in the cafe and the view of the park was nice.

Didn't buy ticket in advance but line was short and staff was efficient and friendly, credit cards accepted. Nice collection although Frieda khalo exhibit is very small. Was able to walk all floors and enjoy entire museum in 1 visit with time to spare for other sites. Well kept facilities and in a beautiful neighborhood. Decorative art museum was close by and it was a nice day so was able to walk there.

The most impressive collection of Latin American art you will find, well, anywhere. It's an small museum in a specially built building, with some of the iconic works you usually see on t-shirts. The lifetime mission of a dedicated, art loving tycoon who worked for decades to put together a collection that explains and speaks volumes about our continent's history and culture. Essential.

3 star be ause my son likes the exhibits. For me, definitely not worth 1 hour walking over. It's nice to have English caption and staff are very friendly. Tickets only cost $1.5 for two people. Only showed the collection of one couple's abstract art works. More people are eating at the Cafe than touring the exhibit. Lots of construction and noisy. The giant wood chair outside is actually very breathtaking!

First time in Buenos Aires and really enjoyed this museum. Theres is an audio guide online in English that you can access with the free WiFi. Entrance fee was 3000. There’s a place to check your bags. You can buy tickets online beforehand.

Great museum to visit while in Buenos Aires. The chronological approach is really nice, and you see Latin America evolve during your visit. It is not expensive either. When the upper collection is closed as it was when we're there, it takes about 1,5 hours to visit it properly. Worth a visit, but be warned: like all other museums it only opens around 12 o clock, and when you're there at that time, it might take a while to get an entrance ticket. Still worth it!

Wonderful artwork and a beautiful facility! I loved the displays and how cohesive the rooms were organized. I got to enjoy the art and while I did it at a slow pace, it was also efficient so that I could visit other places. I will go again the next time I am in the area!

Excellent museum. It has information both in Spanish and English. Good for kids and for students. Permanent collections are beautiful. The only con is that it is too small (2 hours is enough to see everything).

MALBA has one of the best Latin American art collections in the continent, so if you only have time to see this part of the museum is well worth it. They also offer outstanding temporary art shows on a regular basis. Although the one right now (March 2019) is not my favorite! The store is also fantastic and the price of the museum is close to nothing. You always have drinks or lunch at their cafeteria! GO!

Outstanding museum. The permanent collection rooms have explanations in English and Spanish. The rooms cover varying styles of modern art, with links to Latin America. The temporary exhibitions change over time, but the work of Ernesto Neto was excellent. Entry is 280 pesos, and there is a free cloakroom. There is also a cafe, bathrooms and gift shop.

This place is fantastic. A quick tip is that it’s free for students every Wednesday! I also visited the national museum and must admit that I liked the larger amount of pictures. The pool and other creations at MALBA did evoke something in me but the lack of more is why I’m only giving it 4 stars. The visit did already end 45 minutes to 1 hours after we arrived at the place. I live to spent hours watching different art but this was not possible. So visit the place at a Wednesday if you’re a student!

Nice museum, good for kids. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool installation and the interactive party's of the exhibit on floor 2. The Museum Cafe is EXCELLENT! And the Museum Store is small but quite good.

I'm not a huge fan of museums, but this one definitely worths it. There are many interactive expositions to appreciate and have fun with no matter your age. One important information that we didn't know is that on Wednesdays the general entrance costs half the price and it's free for all students holding a valid international student ID card.

I had wondered why so many people was waiting at the entrance, but I got to know the reason in the end. Wonderful experience!! It focuses on the modern art of Latin America. Even its souvenirs are like art products.

A gem of a museum. The building is modern, airy and well lit, and yet the rooms are cozy and intimate. The collection is carefully curated and beautifully hung. I love it and if you like art, you will too.

I came with high expectations of what to find, and ended up being disappointed. Artworks were mostly scattered throughout the floors, and the setup didn’t make much sense to me. I felt like it wasn’t inviting or appealing to make me spend enough time reading the descriptions. Also, there weren’t any interesting facts about the artwork themselves, which made it difficult for the viewer to involve with them. However, I must say Alejandra Seeber’s collection was impressive — definitely the most enjoyable experience in the museum.

Great space and exhibitions. Only had an hour but it was enough to glance at everything. Another hour would be better. There’s three floors. Bottom has gift shop and restaurant, two floors above w exhibitions. One above also has a cafe. I loved the trans photo show that highlighted one photographer from each South American country from the last 70 years. There was another room of contemporary art, social concerns, paintings, video, sculpture. Top room showcasing a classic Argentine artist (name?!) from 1920s cubist. Great medium sized museum. Go!

I liked the temporary exhibition better than the permanent area. I found it a little small, but still worth the entry price. 'Leandro Erlkch - Liminal' was a real interesting exhibition.

Really enjoyed this experience! I believe it was around 750 pesos, they give student discounts with valid ID. They provide a bag check as you can’t take in your backpack and have 2 cafes you can recharge before or after. They had 3 floors and it was nice because it was quick, they didn’t try to extend the stay with empty exhibits where you could have done it in shorter time. We spent about 45 min and it wasn’t crowded at all.

Recommended by our local friends. I love this contemporary art museum that showcase the works of latin america arts. The size is not too big nor too small. 2 full floors of exhibits is actually quite enough and not too overwhelmed for a tourist like me which only have few days in town. Kinds of reminded me of a mini MOMA New York.

I thought it was bigger then it is, but the collection is definitely worth visiting! Brazilian artists and other LatinAmerican artists all over the place 💛✨ Loved the Friday Kahlo session and Cecilia ones were my favorites You can visit Ninina after the tour. Wish they had an ecobag of MALBA

Nice museum although it sounds and looks more promising from the outside than what it really has to offer on the inside. I was a bit disappointed with the audio guide. I'm sure the artists have clearly thought more about the design of their art than what is reproduced on the small signs and the short audio tracks. This makes it one of those museums that you walk through relatively quickly without feeling a real wow effect. However, the café with a solid selection of cakes, delicious coffee and a great rooftop terrace, as well as the museum store were great.

It had a good selection of artists and art work; videos, paintings, sculptures and art installations. It has three levels sectioned and categorized different time lines. The gallery has gift shop and also two coffee shops which felt great after so many hours of standing and walking around.

Just in comparison to the MALBA Museum, i preferred it here.A Wide range of Art and very nicely presented. Unfortunately not all in English. I liked the Room with the Inca Art.

It’s a really good museum of Latinoamerican Art. Where you can take a look of artists of Brazil, Mexico and many others. One thing that I wanted to see was the exhibition of “ La Pileta” that is a pool that I wanted to see. In my opinion, they should put this exhibition permanently because a lot of people get to know this place because they have this piece of art.

  • 5/5 Gloria W. 4 years ago on Google
Great museum and a really good collection that gives an overview on “Latin American” artists. Good information that should help visitors to learn a bit about art history (and not only for Latin America) and the presented artists. Well sorted book shop. Loved the MALBA. – my favorite works of art:

The top floor hosts Argentinean new artists with their interactive pieces. On the second floor, you can see Latin America artists work, from 1900 to 1970. On the ground floor, there is an illusion work and gift shop, which also sells Argentinean artists work. Take 3-4 hours for the museum

Thus preventing the care of those of us who take care of ourselves against the covid. The staff was very attentive but they should have more staff and better control the number of people entering and making the journey respecting the distance, which was not seen. Excellent museum very well done and logically organized. 8ts good to get an idea of all the Latin American artists under one roof. Although the photographic exhibition wasn't as impressive as the paintings. They have a very interesting gift shop don't miss it. It's good to combine it with a day at the park and evita.

Nice, interesting and well organized. If you are into modern art, still worth going. Although, not a 5 start for sure. Without explanation if the pieces of art and the authors, most of the modern art is difficult to be understood and interpreted. If you go on your own without a guided tour, if they offer one, you can only read the title of the opera and name of the artist. The museum itself is short, as I said very interesting. It is a mix of different periods and is organized by themes. The temporary exposition at the moment, July 2018, is good. Small but interesting.

It is a really good art museum. And they make the extra effort to make the signs and exhibit explanations in english and Español. Which is very nice. The exhibits were all great and I would definitely recommend taking time during your visit to see it if you enjoy art museums

Your typical modern museum. Very quiet and exhibitions have Spanish and English descriptions. They charge an entrance fee. Bathrooms are very clean. Few coffee shops inside for a quick bite. Small souvenir shop.

  • 5/5 Caleb G. 2 years ago on Google
Took around 30 minutes to go through the art. The cafe was great to have a drink afterwards.

Have lunch at Nininas and then tour the Malba. There is no better way to spend the afternoon!!! Amazing art beautifully presented. Classics from so many well know South American artists and then new and funky works from artists you need to be hearing about!!

Amazing museum showcasing latinamerican art. The building is gorgeous, has a gift shop, a coffee shop and a restaurant with outdoor seating. You will find paintings by renowned artists like Frida Kahlo, Pettoruti, Xul Solar, Berni, Soldi and more.

Please go. It’s one the best museums of South America. Very organized. The collections is breathtaking.

Nice and quite modern. But not that big, covers only 2 floors. Visited in one hour. But still worth it.

You should definitely visit it! There are incredible paintings and human rights arts! I didn’t know until I enter that Abaporu (the original) was there!!

I went to this museum on a Sunday and it was an amazing experience! It took me about one hour to see everything - even with a lot of people there. And it was really great to see Abaporu in person. The building is beautiful and it has a little inside store (with expensive prices). People working there were very nice to me, except in the store. But I think that woman was just on a bad day.

There’s 3 floors of some really cool art. We took around 40 minutes to see it all. You have to pay, but it’s worth it.

  • 4/5 Emiel N. 1 year ago on Google
The collection is well put together and nicely grouped in themes, sadly the 2nd floor was closed Feb 27 2023 for unknown reasons (likely because we can hardly speak or read Spanish). Also good lunch in the restaurant with Gluten free options (sin TACC)

3.5 stars. It's okay to good. Really only 2 floors with mostly contemporary and post modern art. I think the museum name is misleading. It sounds like the whole history of Latin American Art. It's definitely not that. Modern, postmodern and contemporary art only 900 pesos for a ticket

MALBA this is a lovely museum that is in a beautiful section of Recoleta and easy to digest in a morning or afternoon. The collection is quite interesting with some excellent works by Argentine and other Latin American artists. There is a nice café on the second floor with a spacious outdoor terrace and a small restaurant downstairs, more like a cafeteria, also with outdoor seating at street level. We had a great visit. This museum is highly recommended.

My favorite museum I visited in Buenos Aires. It has a lot of interesting and famous art. Definitely worth a visit. It also has a cafe downstairs with empanadas! 😄

Wow! You must visit this gorgeous museum of out-of-the-ordinary modern art. The collections here are amazing. Some very thought-provoking work can be found within these walls. I especially liked the round mirror suspended by a noose.

Nice collection of modern art and pleasant atmosphere with a very nice cafe with outdoor space. Worth a visit.

Honestly, I was slightly disappointed with this museum. Yes, there's representation of amazing Latin artists but i feel like the overall experience is lackluster. Some of the modern and contemporary art is beautiful and sometimes groundbreaking by seeing artists using mediums in very creative ways but it still left much to be desired. Art is subjective but some artistic art pieces are just complete nonsense. The exhibit is only on 2 floors by the way. I think it's lackluster because there just isn't enough to see. The Frida Kahlo display room is tiny but u can see an original painting by Frida and learn more about her life. This was obviously a highlight for me. It's just a decent museum for me, nothing truly special or captivating which is sad when you look at the overall rating of this museum.

Tickets are half price on Wednesdays, but expect it to be crowded. There was an enormous line for the Frida Kahlo exhibit. Avoid the lunch rush at the cafe!

We visited on a Wednesday because the tickets are half price. It was well worth it, with lots of cool art. On the top floor has fun and different art including a movie set.

I'm in love with the museum and exhibitions. Well organized permanent exhibition of Latinoamericano art from 20th century. Although I was expecting bigger exhibition containing Fridas Kahlo art. The temporary exhibition included works of Cecilia Vicuna and I was impressed. Architecture of the building is also interesting.

If you are an art enthusiast, I think it's worth a visit. However for me, I do not really understand the modern art that were displayed there, so we did not stay there for long and just looked through the artworks. Entrant fee was quite cheap, ARS3000 per pax, for my family of four, we paid ARS12000. One great thing is that you need to store your bags before entering, which I think is very convenient.

A beautiful place with lots of amazing art. I loved the nipple ball. Be prepared for lots of other people to be here if you go on a Saturday. Sadly I didn't get to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition as the queue was very long. Would recommend it if you are in the area.

A trip to Buenos Aires is incomplete without visiting MALBA. Their exhibitions are great, one is even dedicated to Frida Kahlo.

Wonderful place. Cecilia Vecuña's "Sonar de Agua" made me especially emotional. I love her work in general, both social, artistic and political.
