The place was perfect! The best's food in Calafate! And the attention from the owner was awesome! I loved the wine in bottle or for glass, is your choice! The greatest music! I'll be back for sure! GO FOR THE RIBS! <3

What a hidden treasure! Great wines, cool vibe and even more wonderful people. This place was awesome to hang out, enjoy a glass (or 2) or try something completely new. Staff is super knowledgeable about wines of the region and extremely helpful and kind. Being from Northern California and having had exposure to wonderful wines from that region, it was so great to experience something new and get an authentic taste of what Chile and Argentina has to offer. Stop by for some wine and enjoy some lovely company - you will not regret it!!

Our trip to El Calafate was complete after we were so lucky to have found La Trinchera! This hidden gem is nestled in the perfect spot to sit and chill with a beautiful glass of wine. Not only is the wine selection incredible, the owners are the so lovely, generous and adorable! We were greeted with warmth, conversation, and an awesome variety of wines from the region, near and far. As a native of Northern California, I can honestly say that this wine bar will not disappoint a true wine lover. They have it all! If you do not visit La Trinchera while in El Calafate, you will truly be missing out. Go and have wine here every night while in El Calafate, just like we did! It’s the way to live!

Good wine & beer ! Ambiance is really good. Don’t forget to try his local gin tonic (best I ever tastes). The owner is really kind and happy to talk with you. Our best bar in 5 days in El Calafate, thanks 👌🏻

Great little wine shop with yummy food and friendly staff! We had empanadas, pizza, and ribs. All were delicious. We also made our way through every wine by the glass and loved all of them. Also a great playlist in the background. Came back for a second night to grab drinks before dinner. Definitely recommend!!

We were keen to try this place after reading the reviews but left very disappointed. The potatoes served with the 3900 peso pork ribs were still frozen in the middle and when we told the waitress she advised that we just eat around them. No attempt to replace or reheat them. A side dish of sautéed vegetables (also served limp and cold) cost 1300 pesos. Most wines by the glass cost 1500-1600 pesos for 150cc. The owner sat at the table next to us and ignored everything that was going on. We felt none of the warmth or vibe the other reviews raved about. Definitely don’t recommend this place.

La trinchera is a lovely small bar on cafate attended by his owner, it has a really nice selection of beers and an actually surprising food made by a local chef. I highly recommend going there. Also the owner "conejo" gave us the best tips on where to go and what to do on calafate

Nice little gem off the beaten path. Very warm and helpful staff. Great Argentinian wine selection and a different yet local menu. We had the patatoes with blue cheese and ganacos as well as spinach tart. All was excellent.

Brilliant! Lovely young lady and a gentleman run the place. We had great food. I had my first ever draft gin & tonic in this place. We went back every night we were in Calafate because of the nice atmosphere chatting to fellow travellers....2 UK girls one night, a French couple another night and group of Brazilians on the last night. This place just seems to attract nice people.

We had a great experience here! The wine was very tasty, and the server we had took it to a whole other level and made it special. He was so much fun to talk to, we barely stopped the entire time we were there (to note: if you don't want conversation, it's certainly not forced - we're just social people who started a great conversation with him)! They had a huge selection of great-looking Argentinian wines, but my wife and I opted for their options by the glass. They let us try a few to make sure we got a glass we enjoyed, and the prices on the glasses were very reasonable as well. They had some great looking food too, but we had dinner coming up so we didn't indulge. Highly recommend!

Our server was so nice , a young girl. She gave us a great suggestion for a local Pinot noir. We sat outside while work was finished inside which was not a problem. I ordered the vegetarian caramelised onion pizza and my boyfriend the ribs. That is where this place left us so disappointed . My pizza was thick which is normal in South America however it was drowning in white tasteless cheese and raw white onion, if it’s not caramelised don’t say it will be. The ribs tasted like they came from a freezer, small amount of meat and drowned in a bland sauce. We do not usually leave reviews but are leaving this one as the place , the service and the wine was 9/10 but the food is not good but so easily could be good. Go here for a drink but that’s all I’d recommend

This place has something special, I don’t know, maybe the place, the staff, the food or everything. The wine is amazing and food! The ribs! *chef kiss*

😠 Amazed that this place has such a high rating. It was the only reason we came here. Do not get the Caesar Salad. It comes with cold breaded chicken cooked days ago. It has a mountain of cheese and a disgusting dressing. The Patagonia burger came with 6 chips. For better value and far better quality...
