An art museum holding various exhibitions that will likely take you hours to complete. No backpacks nor big bags are allowed to be brought into the exhibitions. There is a locker area next to the ticket purchase to store your belongings before entering the exhibition floors. Would recommend taking the elevator up to the top floor and then working your way down if it isn't too busy. Otherwise, going up one floor at a time, then take the elevator back down.

Aesthetically speaking, this is definitely a wonderful place to visit. The museum is a great place to explore, and has so many unique experiences and exhibitions that every time we come back, it's completely different. As its quite small, you can explore all of the different exhibits in a few hours, which means that when you're with kids you're not completely drained. The rainbow gives some amazing photo opportunities, just make sure to visit when it's bright outside for the best effect!

Wir waren zum 1. mal in Dänemark und auch zum 1. mal in diesem Museum. Die Stadt Aarhus ist eine wunderschöne am Wasser liegende Stadt. Schöne alte schmale Gassen mit vielen kleinen Geschäften.

Totally amazing museum! Eye opening experience. Fresh and deep look at the modern art. Fantastic involvement and long lasting impressions. Worths every cent of quite expensive ticket.

One of the nicer art museums in Europe: -special architecture with a "rainbow" on top which allows you to see the Arrhus skyline through different colours -a restaurant just below the top floor (beware it is quite expensive) -a well-curated permanent exhibition -good explanations of the art works as well as different lay-outs of each floor, chosen by the museum -some temporary exhibitions -a good gift store and cafe at the ground floor Staff is super friendly, lockers are free of charge and the bathrooms are gender neutral.

Great Museum! It proves definitely that modern art does not have to be boring and strange, but can be beautiful, inspiring and a great experience. The Vertigo exhibition was really exceptional. The many projections of dancing people, together with the music really gave me the feeling of being totally emerged in the project. Also the dried plant exhibition was really impressive. Read the text next to the plants.

Must visit place when in aarhus. It's a large museum with 10 floors but 6 are open to visit. Rainbow panorama is amazing , and it gives you the best city view.

I love this Cultural Art Museum. We had 2 Kids with us today. And they could walk around them self if they wanted, to se what they would. There is so much different exhibitions for All of us and we get a lot inspiration with us. The covid-19 restrictions were good and the most guest followed them. We'll be back. ✨🙌

I really recommend going here. There is a lot of stuff to see. The most beautiful part is berlberl - you must read the story, it is so great! But don't hesitate, it won’t be there forever. Also Installation art downstairs is really cool, you need to experience all the rooms. Some of them are more breathtaking than the others.

Great contemporary art museum. The exhibitions are constantly changing and you can see new ones every 3-6 months. It’s worth visiting the rainbow installation at the last floor. You’ll have the chance to see a beautiful view over the entire Aarhus.

Looks good on the outside with the rainbow structure on top but entrance fee way too expensive in my honest opinion. 20 pounds for art that I can’t appreciate. Very niche tourist attraction. Shop and toilets are good though.

Great Museum from the outside. The rainbow circle at the top looks great, and it is very entertaining, probably the highlight of the museum, something to remember. If you are under 31 years old, you pay 145 Dkk which is a fair price. Interesting modern art exhibitions in the inside but nothing spectacular, I must say. Some of the floors are not really part of the museum since there are closed restaurants or library or workshop areas which can't be visited. If you are in Aarhus, it's definitely worth visiting this museum, but I would not travel to Aarhus to see it.

A lot of exhibitions under one roof. It's all skewing a little bit too modern for my taste, so I really loved the exhibition showing various aspects of "human nature" portrayed through 200 years of painting. The rooftop rainbow installation is deeply fascinating and a must-see.

Nice gallery with lots of art (I love contemporary pieces). The rainbow passage is quite overrated but ideal for Instagram pictures

Amazing museum with lots going on. The exhibitions are varied and well-curated. “Far from Home” is especially moving and engaging. *Don’t miss out the 4th (public) floor: there are some interactive parts that allows you to “see” how you “see” (eye tracking) and also body recognition that’s really cool. We almost missed it because the floor looked empty.

An amazing place where you can spend at least 3 hours wandering around and discovering all the art. It also had an amazing view upstairs as a little reward after going through all the exhibits. It was worth every krona!

A very big museum, a must-visit when you are in Aarhus. The highlight is of course the giant glass-top with rainbow-colored glass. The museum has ten levels total, six fully "visitable". Also the museum shop is definitely worth checking out.

I mean even with all the hype this museum gets, it's so worth it to go!! Every floor gives you a totally different and unique experience! What I recommend you to do is work yourself from the bottom floor up to the top floor, the rainbow! That way you are rewarded with this absolutely amazing artwork and views all over the city!

Amazing and beautiful museum! A must visit place in Aarhus for sure! I bought the ticket some days before and it was perfect because when I arrived there was a long queue to buy a ticket. The museum have beautiful and interesting exhibitions.

Wow. What a museum. One of the best we have visited. Rainbow 🌈 terrace is wonderful. The light plays on your mind. You just go crazy taking many photos, instagrammers' favourite. Fabulous experience. Some of the exhibits like illustrations and Erro's work are out of the world. Really a great place to spend a day.

If you like art: modern, traditional and installation, then this place fits the bill. Plus the rainbow walkway gives a wonderful, colourful view of the city

an intetesting building with 10 floors. The top has a great rainbow walk to view the town from. Each floor has well presented exhibitions. the cafe and shop are also very good to visit.

Beautiful museum, I liked that the art was explained, so that I could understand it better. Nice restaurant, friendly service. The rainbow bridge on top gives a magnificent and almost magical panoramic view of the city

The enormous "Boy" statue and very cool rooftop rainbow promenade are the stars here but don't sleep on the incredible immersive installations in the basement and the nice gallery on the top floors. Super neat museum all around. You will easily spend 2-3 hours here if you are one to read descriptions.

The rainbow skywalk was ingenious. Also the different exhibitions are great. The art installation at the ground floor is definitely a must to see.

So so lucky to be staying so close to this incredible art museum!! Do not miss the incredible installations on the bottom floor that will transport you to other worlds, the BIG boy, and the rainbow walkway on the rooftop. The cafe and gift shop are lovely too!

I am not much into art, so maybe not the best reviewer. I went there to see the city from the viewing terrace and the rainbow walk. That was great, although the rainbow view vas visually "strange" in lack of better word. The exhibitions, I don't know what to say about.

So much art and so many different kinds of exhibitions! I loved the tour in the museum with my classmates!

This is an absolute must see when you come to Aarhus. The rainbow panorama is just something else and the rest of the exhibitions are interesting over 6/7 floors. I spend around 2 hours here to see everything. It is very accessible too. Highly recommended.

One of the best contemporary art museums in Scandinavia. They have a huge selection, a wonderful and well-known “rainbow glass” roof passage, and some amazing experiential art rooms in the basement. Cannot recommend this enough. Get there early if you plan on seeing everything!

I like this place due to its rooftop and modern paintings. One can enjoy the colours 3d show as well.

One of the best museums in Denmark. Very easy navigate around, interesting collections, something for everyone. The roof top is with amazing view, good restaurants. And the rainbow just a cherry on the top of cake. Must visit.

Cool museum. One whole floor was closed though which was kind of a bummer. The rainbow circle is nice to see.

It is a contemporary art museum with an expectacular panorama view. You are going to enjoy the visit.

Not cheap but with plenty of interesting exhibits and the awe inspiring Rainbow Panorama it is well worth the visit if you're in Aarhus. Has a pleasant cafe/restaurant on the lower level and (as always in Denmark) friendly multilingual staff on hand.

One of the best museums ;) I do like the art here

  • 5/5 tinytinchen 2 years ago on Google
Really nice museum with a magnificent view in the top. The rainbow windows are really incredible. Regarding the art, it is a very big mixture of different installations, paintings and statues. Absolutely not boring but kind of a discussion if everything should be called art. 😉 My tip : check the opening times before going there. On the weekend it sadly closes very early around 17 o clock

Nice place to visit. Had been visiting Aros more than 3x. The only problem is the elevator, it usually takes more than 5 minutes of waiting. We can't take the stairs since my husband is a wheelchair user.

Very accessible and clearly locally popular modern art institute. The rainbow panorama is a very special experience. It was lovely during sunset in early evening when it's not busy. Very good museum shop. The collection of my Danish artists, and local painting was interesting, as were the different changing exhibitions.
