I
went
to
Kipferl
to
get
new
professionally
made
orthotics
for
my
flat
arches.
And
unfortunately,
I
can't
recommend
them
at
all.
Everyone
working
at
the
office
was
nice
enough,
but
a
number
of
other
issues
made
me
lose
faith
in
their
services.
First,
the
custom
orthotics
appear
to
be
outsourced
to
another
facility
after
taking
some
very
brief
photographs
of
one's
feet.
There
isn't
anything
inherently
wrong
with
that,
but
the
resultant
orthotics
don't
appear
any
better
built
or
more
effective
that
custom
orthotics
ordered
online
at
many
less
times
the
cost.
I
had
other
previous
professionally
made
orthotics
that
were
meticulously
shaped
to
my
feet
and
felt
quite
sturdy
as
well,
a
far
cry
from
what
I
received.
Second,
the
office
seems
disorganized.
After
they
sent
the
orthotics
off
to
get
made,
they
informed
me
that
they
would
let
me
know
when
the
orthotics
were
ready
to
be
picked
up
and
schedule
another
appointment,
about
3
weeks.
After
a
month
and
a
half
of
hearing
nothing,
I
called
them,
got
redirected,
and
was
told
that
the
orthotics
had
been
there
for
weeks.
Some
point
after
that
they
called
me
asking
for
my
address
as
they
had
apparently
recorded
it
wrong,
and
mail
had
been
getting
returned
to
them.
Third,
reviewing
my
bills
after
the
fact,
it
appears
that
they
managed
to
nickel
and
dime
me
on
a
number
of
things.
From
new
patient
fees,
to
'cast
supplies',
to
'strapping
procedures'.
The
latter
two
being
especially
peeving
as
they
were
related
to
unnecessary
temporary
gauze
orthotics
that
I
would've
refused
if
I
had
known
they'd
be
costing
me
a
pretty
penny.
I
don't
think
it's
too
much
to
ask
to
inform
patients
on
what
they
may
or
may
not
be
charged
for.
All
in
all,
if
you're
in
the
market
for
orthotics,
it
feels
like
pretty
much
any
other
place
would
do.
