I cannot tell you enough how happy I was to come across this place. We meant to go across the street but kitchen was close. We drove here and I asked the guy helping the front “is it too late to come in” we were celebrating an unexpected job offer. He said. Come in. Order quickly. We did. Amazing food. Amazing service. Portions are so good. We all have left overs for lunch tomorrow. Prices are affordable! Food taste good. Great presentation. I mean. We were all so happy that we landed there. Will be back!

Great long standing restaurant in Andersonville. The food is top notch and service is super. I highly recommend the classic Chicago style sausage pizza. Prices are reasonable. Free parking across street.

Our first time here and love this neighborhood gem! Sandy was our amazing server! She could not have been better and more welcoming. The menu is extensive and inviting. My wife has an issue with salt and ordering can be difficult. This restaurant can accommodate diet issues. We will be back. A lovely dining experience.

I went with a friend on Saturday night, and that place was crowded. It's a very traditional Italian cuisine, the entrées, appetizers, pastas, pizzas, to dye for, authentic comfort food, and the wines list🍷 are amazing. I totally recommend this place to impress a date or family's 👪 gathering. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine selection. I had a great time at Calo's restaurant.

Came here a handful of times. Each experience i had was phenomenal. Yesterday i decided to try am eggplant rolled stuffed with ricotta cheese and mozzarella. It was delicious. Literally tasted like pasta. Would definitely get that dish again.

Food was amazing. Great menu. Tons of choices. Everything was delicious. Service was slow and seems way more disorganized than the last time we were there. We will try again as the food is worth it to give another try. The rotolo was so good and the chicken vesuvius was generous in portion size and delicious. We were sat immediately bit there was slowness to take the order, bussing was almost non existent. We were rarely asked for a drink fill or follow up order. Service was disappointing.

$50 per person (includes drinks + desert). Huge amount of food, you probably wants to share or take home... Amazing place, delicious plates, and grand ambiance. Reservations are recomendable. Definitively be back soon.

Great dinner out with family. They were really busy and it took a while to get our food. Most of the food was tasty, but the Alfredo was just a bit bland. The flourless chocolate cake was decadent and rich! Jhony C. Was a terrific and attentive server.

I was here recently celebrating an anniversary with my partner and we had a great time! I loved that the menu was a mix of authentic Italian and Italian-American classics. Plus the drink menu was huge. We were seated right away, the waiter took our drink order quickly and then we then they gave us free bread. One thing I wish I'd known is how big the portions are. We could have shared an app and one entree but we didn't mind going home with 6 servings of leftovers either.

Who knew one of the best Italian restaurants on the north side also has fantastic fried chicken? Calo has been consistently great with its service and quality for decades. While its takeout service has been just as good during the pandemic, in-person dining is strongly recommended with its vibrant atmosphere is quite an experience.

We ordered the FRUTTI DI MARE ALLA GRIGLIA and LINGUINI FRUTTI DI MARE dishes and they were a bit overwhelming with the seafood, the combination makes it salty and we were not able to finish both dishes....a bit disappointing but that being said, the BRUSCHETTA STRACCIATELLA was well done!

From the minute we walk in the smell of this outstanding and very delicious food took all of our attention. Octopus, calamari, mussels and tiramisu is VERY good. Service is amazing. Thank you , it’s our favourite spot now

Everything was absolutely phenomenal. It was my birthday and graduation celebration and the manager Saqib along with our amazing server AJ made sure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed. They made my day special!

Food was great!! We had a party of 4 and each had very amazing meals. We had the farfella Butera, veal parmesan(ask for it not on menu), veal Marmalade, and a seafood Romano. The food came out piping hot! Just like I enjoy it. Atmosphere was family oriented and intimate. Service was provided by Andrea.

We were pleasantly surprised with everything, from the moment we walked in the staff was attentive and welcoming. Brought menus immediately after we were seated. Gave us a few minutes to read the menus and came back to answer any questions and take our drink orders. Our waitress was great. All was well timed, from the fresh baked bread to their fabulous ribs and pastas. Our Margaritas couldn't have been better. We look forward to our next visit. 🙏 We were so engaged, we forgot to take photos. 🥲

Calo is one of the best Italian restaurants on the north side. Big portions, lots of options. Great antipasti, pizza and entrees, and amazing pasta dishes. Dinner for two, with a bottle of wine and dessert will run north of $100 but we always leave with leftovers, and it's a casual spot, never too dressy (sometimes you'll see Cubs fans come here after a game). Great bar and great service, this place is usually packed, even on a weeknight. Great place for a date or family dinner. Reminds me a lot of Vesuvio from the Sopranos. Never had to wait long for a table.

Great, authentic Italian fare, and featured on PBSs "Check Please", this food did not disappoint. We each ordered different dishes as it was our first time. Rotolo di Melanzana (Rolled eggplant parmesian) was delicious and beautifully presented. Grilled Octopus, one of the specials, was good and interesting, but just a tad overdone and chewy. Bucatini Diavola, a spicy red sauce, was divine. Generous portions as well as large martinis made this a plus on our checklist.

Calo is perfect for date night. Prosciutto appetizer was very straight forward. The free bread (two kinds) was a nice touch. Lasagna was hearty and yummy tiramisu finished our meal. I would come back and try the seafood next time.

A very classic old school Italian spot with delicious pasta in generous portions. Great service and espresso martinis too. Would most definitely recommend Calo - it’s one of my favorite local restaurants!

The food is fantastic! This is my third time going with my family and I love it. I think the prices is reasonable. They got their own parking lot across the street from the restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. It's great to have families, group of friends, and dates.
