😠 This place is pretentious and reeks of cultural appropriation. And yes, I've actually been here. I'm a local and I prefer to support businesses that cater to ALL people. People often mention love, coffee, store, Trade, shop, cafe, Roots, people, staff, nice,

My wife walked in to the store first. To give context my wife is African-American and I am a white male. My wife was not greeted by the workers at all and was ignored as if she did not exist. However, I walked in and received warm greetings immediately. I was absolutely perturbed to find out that my wife was ignored and I would love to know the reason as I walked in a few moments after her and was greeted warmly. There were no other customers in the store so it’s not as if the representatives were too busy. And after reading some of the other reviews this seems to be a normal practice. As a dealer in fair trade one would assume that the people selling this merchandise would understand inclusivity and micro aggressions and the dangers they cause.

I love this neighborhood treasure! I come by often just for the lavender lemonade. And I love all the unique gifts. The food is always great too!

We were here from out of state and had the most delightful coffee in the shade of beautiful trees. It's a great feeling to spend your money in a Fair Trade store where you know that it will go to people all over the world who are working in a sustainable way and not in some box store that is equivalent to a sweatshop. There seems to be people who don't understand what Fair Trade is on this site, but it is helping people help themselves. Would that every store cared this way. 🕊️☮️🌎

Trade Roots in Westover is my most favorite coffee and gift shop. Besides their tasty lattes and scones, Lisa, the owner, and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The patrons are engaging as well. Trade Roots is simply a very comfortable and interesting shop to spend some time.

Their potpies are amazing, and I had turmeric ginger tea for the first time ever, here. It has a lot of unique stuff inside, and it's a very eccentric establishment. The staff are very personable.

Amazing little neighborhood gem, with incredible sustainable gifts and finds from all over the world. Also, a super cute, cozy and comfy cafe/bar with excellent coffee, wine and finger food. Live music for special occasions. Excellent customer service. Absolutely LOVE this place!

Trade Roots is such a special local store. It's just the kind of place you want to linger-- especially at the cafe (indoor and outdoor seating) that has really high-quality food and beverages. And I love checking out the eclectic fair-trade offerings. The owner Lisa truly travels the globe looking for amazing suppliers.

We LOVE Trade Roots and have been loyal customers since the community-minded gift shop opened. I’m even going there later today to buy a few items. My husband and I are also regular fixtures at the coffee/wine bar where we unfailingly order one latte and lavender lemonade, accompanied by a yummy chocolate croissant. Plus, it’s in Westover! Our favorite walkable place with terrific restaurants and Ayres Hardware Store which is a step back in time.

Very nice neighborhood gem. A little coffee shop, bar, tea house, eatery, and craft shop all in one nice little old building. Nice staff too. Also a nice place to just sit outside and watch traffic and people go by. Will be coming back again…

It's cute locally owned shop that needs to decide what it actually is. Reply to owner: After rethinking you're right -- sometimes one gets stuck into modes and models of defined meanings. It is nice to see that you don't have a need to fit into anyone's model. Bravo!

This my go to place for the unusual, but relevant gift for me or a friend. Love sitting outside over a cafe latte. Cool on these hot days. Anne Tonks

Our FAVORITE cafe — we come here every week! The best espressos and teas, delicious pastries, yummy light bites (the avocado toast is EXCEPTIONAL). The staff are super nice. The proprietor travels the world and imports new foodie ideas so we never get bored. And when we’re done dining, we enjoy the marvelous boutique!

👍👍 Truly wonderful place! My Italian wife was in heaven. They have everything from prepared foods (pizza, subs, coffee, desserts) to a full range of Italian groceries and a nice wine area. Outdoor seating a plus as well. So shop there, dine there, or both!
