Had a very nice reception here. The place is friendly, clean and very open. All staff were very friendly and inviting. The drinks are cold and the food was hot. Everything was delicious. Lots of parking in the nearby garage.

I enjoyed the atmosphere here and that it was kid-friendly. The food was just okay. The lamb burger was pretty good, but a little dry. The kids loved the flatbread.

What a neat place. The decor and atmosphere was on point. The fish and chips were great. Everyone with us said their food was great.

Amazing food and the meatloaf was outstanding. Shepherd's pie was very good as well. Fun atmosphere and courteous staff.

The food at this restaurant is perfectly fine, though in my opinion limited in scope. The meals are palatable, but not extraordinary. The service is wonderful. Every time I've gone there, I've had waitpersons who were not only pleasant, but also attentive and efficient.

Traditional Irish atmosphere. The veggie curry was delicious. Server forgot a few things but may have been inexperienced.

We came here ok a Tuesday night. Some street parking in Shrilington. No one at the hostess stand and no sign indicating to seat yourself. Finally had a server who sat is with menus who ended up being our server. Took about 10 minutes after we sat down before she came back with water and another 5 minutes or so before she came and took our order. We ordered the Calamari and for drinks, I ordered the What's the Craic'n and my boyfriend ordered the velvet devil. The drinks were delicious and they have a good selection of beers and cocktails. Calamari had some kind of paprika or Chilli powder seasoning through the middle of the dish but inconsistent otherwise. Calamari was good and so was the sauce it came with. For dinner, I ordered the Guinness Burger but I substituted the fries instead of the mash. Boyfriend ordered the Beef Wellington. Tough to cut through and somewhat decently cooked. Pastry was still a little doughy and only the Mushroom on the top of the Wellington. Mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were delicious. Guinness burger was good but there was a portion where I got a very burnt taste. Took awhile after we ate to get a dessert menu - we ordered the molten chocolate Lava cake. The cake itself was amazing. Ice cream with it was good but it was really frozen and hard to even get a spoon through. Overall food was ok but the service was slow. I would recommend coming here to get some beers or cocktails.

I really have no idea what place these other reviewers went to but there’s no way it was the same place I’m sitting in. Place is empty on a summer Saturday night for a reason. Their “late night menu” starts at 9pm and is awful. The only good thing is beer that you can get absolutely anywhere else. The bar staff just doesn’t care whether you’re happy or not. The menu was updated a month ago and there’s no updates online anywhere. If I saw an updated menu I would have never come here. We drove 45 minutes for this? Waste of time!!!

Food was pretty so so for the price. My partners burger was the most underwhelming thing I've been served at a restaurant. My Shepard's pie was ok, but it had about an 1.5" of potatoes on top of maybe 3/4 cup of filling. The server was polite but almost TOO attentive and trying to make jokes that's weren't great. But A for effort. Very expensive disappointment.

We have a company lunch there and it was really great. Everyone was happy with their food. The place is large and the atmosphere is great. It has huge bars and lots of open space for big parties. Little more checking in from the server would’ve been great but overall the place was awesome and we will definitely be going back.

We ended up spending almost 3 hours here. It was so easy to do with such good care taken of us and wonderful atmosphere! We enjoyed the shepherd’s pie and chicken curry. The food was delicious! Our server was attentive, but others came by to refill the waters and clear plates and check on us too. The restaurant is beautiful inside, and felt pretty reminiscent of a true Irish pub.

Great food each time we visit. It’s a comfort food spot with good options for lighter fare too. There seems to be something for everyone. We like the variety of seating options and overall location. No complaints!

Great location around an area with walkable shops. Shepard's pie was the best kind of comfort food. All the beer was good. Outdoor seating is best if you don't want the noisey indoor seats. There's a free parking garage right next to it, and ice cream to complete the date night. This place was highly recommended by 2 different people and it did not disappoint!

Food is hearty & delicious, entrees served at right temp (not lukewarm) Staff is professional, courteous, friendly and the atmosphere is inviting, unique & fun all at once... Beckett's is never a miss! Bonus: great location w/parking & shopping options in the square.

I really enjoyed my time here. The food was well-made and the pub selections were incredible. They offer mixed pints and cocktails which are definitely their highlights. Nice ambiance, too.

Great food, service, and atmosphere!!! Highly recommend! I had the lamb burger and it was excellent, perfectly good with a great balance of caramelized onions and goat cheese. The steak fries were savory and crisp! Last but definitely not least the beer was outstanding!

I have eaten here twice now. The first time was amazing. The second time was just not good. I made a reservation for Monday because it was an important day for me. My party was seated near the back which is fine but there was a corn hole tournament going on and the back bar was up to their ears with folks in the tournament. Bartender was super nice but way way overextended. Drinks were good but took a while to come out and at least once the bartender forgot what we ordered. Again, to be clear, I don't blame the bartender, I think we should not have been seated where we were. I ordered the beef wellington and the steak was tough and chewy. The day was supposed to be important and special but it ended up being just average and forgetable. I don't understand why we were put in the back when the front of the restaurant seemed like it would have been better and faster service.

This is literally my regular spot for the past 2 years. Every single bartender, every single server, has been nothing but kind and amazing every single time. Not to mention, their food is just amazing too. The Beef Wellington has become the thing I tell EVERYONE about when recommending this place, as well as their mixed pints. Truly what sets this place apart from every other restaurant in Shirlington is the service and unique atmosphere. It can bounce between an exciting night and a quiet, pleasant evening. Never too crowded and even if they’re busy, the staff will not hesitate to serve you. Just all around amazing.

Great food and drinks. Traditional Irish pub fare and fancier variations. Lots of draft beers you really don't find anywhere else outside of an Irish pub. The service team was great. Went on a Monday night and the place was pretty dead, but understandable. The whole neighborhood area was also superb. A real gem of a find.

Great crafted drinks. Tasty appetizers. Atmosphere sells this place. Sit upstairs if you can. Awesome experience.

Awesome food and great service. You'll be hard pressed to find a staff that works harder to make your dining experience great. The Guinness pours are PERFECTION.

During Happy Hour, I ordered the Cherry Blossom drink and it was delish. I had the fresh tasting Crab cake appetizer which was ok. I believe they had salmon in it and I didn't like it, but since it was hot and fresh, I finished it. Later on in the evening, I tried the mango beer that most people in our party were enjoying and it was refreshing along with the Chicken tenders and fries, which was a winner. Thanks!

I have been trying a few Irish pubs in DMV area because I love Shepherd's pie. I find this place to have one of the best at that. The pub itself has a very nice atmosphere like a proper Irish pub. My friends who came with me also believe their food is pretty good. If you're on DC or MD side, the location is pretty out there but I would say it's worth a trip. Overall, this is a very nice place just to hang out with great food and friends.

I used to like you guys but seriously? $17 for chicken curry to go and you put it in two cups, not even filled to the top. I’ve eaten this inside more than once and I know it is served on a substantially sized plate. Fool me once…

Fantastic Irish Breakfast, so glad this place is so close, I want to go back. Plus their bread is amazing! We sat outside and enjoyed the area waking up. I do kinda wish they opened earlier but I'm probably the only that thinks 11a is late for brunch.

I have enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food is so, so good. I've been about 6 times in the past two weeks, I haven't ordered the same thing because the menu is full of delicious options. The ambiance is great, the staff is great, the food is great. Update: the bread pudding is very good. So is their brunch/lunch menu. The Shepard's pie is incredible. The live music they've had has been very good.

Food was great. Too bad the server didn’t do the cook any Justice. I sat at my table by myself, watching the bartender and 2 servers having a full conversation. My server looks at me and asks if I’m alright. I said I’m good, just waiting for someone to take my order, and he takes it. He brought my food and I never seen him again. The bartender ended up giving me ONE refill of Diet Coke. Should I be charged full price on my drink if I didn’t get but one refill? I guess that’s one way to save money. The best way to lose money is to have poor service. I am sorry for your chefs.

Came here at 5:30pm on a Saturday. Cool vibe and clean space, but service was extremely slow, despite not being particularly crowded. Our waitress spent most of the time behind the bar. We were never offered refills or asked if we wanted anything else. The food was decent, but probably won’t go back.

A wonderful place to be on the coldest winter day in more than 30 years. Excellent home food, down to earth staff who lace conversation with wit and good humor, and reasonable prices to boot. Great atmospherics for a family or friends. Highly recommended.

A solid neighborhood Irish bar! Staff and bartenders are awesome…friendly and fun. It just might have the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had (better than the Dubliner in DC!). Their wings and bar grub are also great. This is more of a lively and open atmosphere so don’t expect the typical quiet, tavern style pub. If you want that head to Ireland Four Courts in Courthouse.

Shepherds Pie was very bland, and had no taste. Staff was clearly overworked and they need more help.
