I love oSullivans (and especially their trivia). I look forward to every Trivia Wednesday there with my friends. The environment is so welcoming and the MC never fails to get laughs out of our crew. Come prepared with a good name (our group thinks long and hard each week 😉). I’ve never felt so included and not overpowered during trivia (compared to other Clarendon trivia’s). The questions are FUN but stump us too. You’ve got good competition amongst other groups but me and my friends really come for the environment that the MC+staff create. Overall the staff is phenomenal and genuinely cares about each and every one of their patrons. Olive and ashling knock it out of the park every. single. time. The manager LITERALLY brought us umbrellas once when we were seated outside as soon as he saw a cloud (and it barely drizzled for 2 seconds). If we show up with a big group and the tables are scarce, they pull them together and make it work. They know the menu like the back of their hands and give us the best recommendation each time. After being in and out this past summer on vacations and trips, the one thing that has remained constant is oSullivans. The best team that you can count on!

We went there on St. Patrick's Day. It was busy. Food was good. We had the potato pancakes, salad with grilled chicken, and Shepherd's Pie. Service was good. Drinks were cold. I would definitely recommend this place.

Scam Trivia Host! Be aware! My friends and I liked going to this bar because of the trivia. However, we’ve caught the host cheating MULTIPLE times. He gives extra points to teams if he likes their name. When we’ve confronted him, he walked away from us. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The system is corrupt!

Trivia situation is certifiably appalling. Host is terrible and subjectively gives out random numbers of extra points at will. Food/beer prices aren’t good enough to come back. Serious people would be well advised to run away as quick as possible!

I really like this pub. It has a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. The brunch has decent food and the drinks are tasty. My friend is British, and he said the fish and chips here are the best he has had in the area. The closest to what he is used to having at home. I love the decorations inside because it makes you feel like you are in Ireland, not in Virginia. Check it out if you are a fan of pub food!

One star only because I can’t give zero. Saw a cockroach in my food. They only have bud light. It’s always served warm.! Also the bouncers are so mean and not even Irish. Said I smelled like bologna?! Then spit on my brand new shape ups by sketchers. Do! Not! Go!

Great spot for a drink and a bite of food. The only thing Irish about it is the paint and decor, but that’s ok. Lots of whisky and wine options too.

Update: Comedy night was NOT funny but it was LEWD and pornographic. Headliner criticized audience for being silent as he said unfunny comments (can't call them jokes). Organizers were horrible as well. I'd rather listen to scratchy U2 LPs at this otherwise good Irish restaurant and bar. Original post from band night: Bouncers were all polite. One opened front door as I approached. Another politely provided directions to restroom One of the two urinals is so low I was afraid I might hit above it. Is this for young people or forced upon the bar by Arlington code busy bodies? Music could have been lower earlier in the evening, before 10, when most people are eating and not yet tearing the roof off. All other staff provided top notch service. It was also noted that they don't keep a copy of the credit card when starting a tab. I still need to get my card from a GWU bar that holds on to it before customers pay; they didn't give it back and I forgot to ask.

O'Sullivan's Irish Pub, nestled in Arlington, Virginia, offers a dining experience that lands squarely in the realm of averageness, with a blend of satisfactory elements and notable drawbacks. My recent visit to this establishment left me with a mixed bag of impressions, as the culinary offerings proved to be passable, but cleanliness concerns, particularly in the restroom facilities, detracted significantly from the overall experience. The defining characteristic of O'Sullivan's Irish Pub is its unpretentious ambiance, evoking the warmth and conviviality often associated with Irish pubs. The traditional decor, complete with dark wood and cozy seating, attempts to transport patrons to the heart of Ireland, creating an inviting setting for a casual meal or drinks with friends. Turning to the culinary aspect, O'Sullivan's offers a menu that is, at best, okay. The food is passable, with some dishes meeting expectations, while others fall short. The menu predominantly features Irish pub fare, from hearty stews to classic fish and chips. While the flavors may evoke a sense of comfort, they lack the finesse and innovation that elevate a dining experience from average to exceptional. The culinary offerings, while not disappointing, may not leave a lasting impression. However, a significant drawback that overshadows any positive aspects is the issue of cleanliness. O'Sullivan's Irish Pub, unfortunately, fails to meet basic standards in this regard. The overall cleanliness of the establishment is questionable, and the state of the toilets is particularly disconcerting. Maintaining hygienic restroom facilities is non-negotiable for a dining establishment, and the lapses in this area significantly impact the overall impression of O'Sullivan's. In conclusion, O'Sullivan's Irish Pub in Arlington, VA, presents itself as an average dining option with traditional Irish pub ambiance and passable culinary offerings. However, the cleanliness concerns, especially in the restrooms, detract significantly from the overall experience. For those seeking an unpretentious pub atmosphere, O'Sullivan's might suffice, but those with a keen eye on cleanliness standards may find alternative options in the vibrant Arlington dining scene that better align with their expectations. A focus on improving cleanliness could potentially transform O'Sullivan's into a more appealing destination for patrons seeking a satisfying and hygienic pub experience.

Live band gets really loud, and also gets packed after 2130! Tons of young people (almost all millenials) and very white as well. Not bad overall. Bar service can be very slow at times.

I didn’t eat here so not going to rate bad for the food. Our server was horrible. She had a really bad attitude and moved my beer every time she pass me. We had a group of 16 and were sat in 2 different table, however, ended up we can’t pay separately but in the same bill. The environment and trivia was fun but I don’t recommend this place since there are so many bars around.

Happy hour from 4-7 M-F. Great deal! The batter on the fish is perfect - crispy and light. Happy with it! Definitely felt like we were in a pub in London haha.

Food is consistently amazing, great options for a pub. Wednesday trivia is always fun and it’s shorter than other places which I like. All the staff are great. Love this place!

A very fun restaurant and pub, I’ve been quite a few times while living in Clarendon. Definitely would recommend stopping by, the service and food is always really good. I’ve enjoyed going with friends for brunch, dinner, or a quick drink after work. Definitely a good vibe and appreciated that they ID at door early so that it’s an adult atmosphere vs some of the other spots in the area.

Friendly service. Great tasting food. All the TVs a sports fan could want. All the good things about an Irish pub in the US. A neighborhood joint. Highly recommend.

The boys and I got together for a round of beers two nights in a row while in Arlington attending my late Uncle's memorial. Andrea was a great server and waited on us both times great service and experience all together! Andrea went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience.

My friend and I went here for the hecklers ball comedy show. The food here is amazing. We got the Irish potato cakes which came with sour cream and lettuce. They were super crunchy and flavorful. Next we got the sweet chili chicken wings which were pretty good, the lox on Irish brown bread which I wasn't a fan of. I like the bread and salmon, but the two flavors together didn't compliment each other. Lastly we had the fish n chips which were a huge portion. The fish was delicious and perfectly cooked, fries were ok. Although I didn't love everything we got, the fried fish and potato cakes are more than enough for me to come back. Service was great considering she was the only person taking care of the entire back area.

Your security is VERY unprofessional and racist. I was a customer there and I watched the security (who were black by the way) kick out and beat 2 black customers. The bartender orchestrated all of this. These 2 guys didn't do anything wrong as I was watching everything unfold. Black people, please avoid this racist place and be careful. They'll treat you like you're nothing! HORRIBLE SERVICE. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Great Irish pub with a large selection of Irish beers and spirits. Have not had the food yet, but with the good drinks, live music/DJs, and cozy atmosphere, it makes a great place to hang out and have fun.

Very nice Irish pub. The Irish beef dip sandwich was great. I had an Irish old fashioned. Nice place to relax after meetings all day

Food was wonderful and there was a great Irish pub atmosphere and decor! Our service/staff was very prompt and staff were very attentive. I went to dinner with my cousin and his two children, and the atmosphere was quaint and nostalgic and definitely not too rowdy or obnoxious for families with children to feel uncomfortable with their dining. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience all-around!!

I've come here many times and always have a good time at O'Sullivan's Irish Pub Sunday FREE Comedy Night! Bring a friend or come alone and prepare to laugh. Amateur and practiced comedians alike will make you laugh. You can even try your own hand at comedy during the "everyone's a comedian" open-mic time at the end of the show each week There's a full bar and food available to make your experience more enjoyable during the comedy show, if you like. To avoid parking pains, the Clarendon metro stop (orange/silver line) is just a five-minute walk from the pub and parking is free at (most) metro stations across the DMV, wherever you're traveling from.

What do I want in my bar experience? More than ever I want to know the beers on tap and Irish bars deliver on this. Add in good eats and nice staff, this place is a winner.

Great place to kick back and have a few beers. Reasonably priced. Located in an amazing area so you'll typically see a good crowd. Food is ok.
