You want to sit at the bar or either the tables at the back of the bar, a much better view of the airport. They have beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows. This location keeps the high standards of the chain from Boston! Kayla was a professional waiter. The clam chowder is cooked to perfection, and Key Lime pie has the right amount of lime. Overall wonderful experience!

Update July 2023: Add the Crabcake Sandwich as another delicious option with loads of lump crab meat and a side of tasty coleslaw. I subbed the fries for steamed broccoli. Update March 2023: Legal Sea Foods is consistently outstanding. The staff and the food are excellent. This restaurante is a highlight of Reagan airport. Thank you to the great staff who make each dining experience such a pleasure. Our excellent waitress was very prompt, friendly and professional. The lump crabcake appetizer was delicous crab with no bread filling, and they kindly served it on split plates for us. The lobster roll was full of tasty lobster meat, and the clam chowder had a light & delightful broth with clams & potatoes. The fried whole-belly clams were delightful with a light, sweet taste. A glass of Allagash White draft beer perfectly rounded out the meal.

Good food, great service and lively music. When we fly out of DCA, this is our go-to. Pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you want a hot dog with chili on it, go next door for half the price. To each their own.

Legal sea foods We order Caesar salad, fish tacos, clam chowder, and a lobster roll. The Caesar salad didn’t have a lot of dressing, but they gave us more upon request; the lobster roll is big and delicious; the fish tacos are good; and the clam chowder was good, but is was not hot enough. Overall, I did like the place and recommend it.

I heard this place had a mean lobster roll and since I’m a self proclaimed lobster roll connoisseur, I had to check and make sure. I sat at the full service bar and had a mule as I waited on my lobster roll. I ordered Connecticut style not Maine. I’m a food purist (says the one who ate a foot long lobster roll soaked in butter LOL). The roll was delicious and had more claw than tail but all flavorful and worth the money. Stephen my server/ bartender was kind and attentive. It was a great stop for dinner before my travels.

Fish tacos!! With plantain!! Out of this world. The crab-cakes are a great starter. After all, we are right next to Maryland.

The clam chowder and crab cakes are always good. Even if the crab cake was a bit salty, I enjoyed the saltwater taste of the fibrous clam chunky pieces. Most of this small cake is fresh crab meat and costs $26 so mindfully taste every bite. The crab cakes came with a side salad and it was fresh. The clam chowder is always consistent at all the Legal Seafood locations in the US with a rich creamy flavor and some clam pieces (I wish they put more clam pieces personally since it costs $11.50 for a standard 8 oz mug full of soup). The atmosphere is not too loud while it’s at the airport. The most noise you will hear is the din of patrons tapping at the bar while drinking and eating. You will also hear pop music at this place which is loud enough but personally a bit loud for me while trying to enjoy Netflix while eating and waiting for a flight. This Legal Seafoods location is also contained in the area with other stores and not amidst gates where you typically hear flight staff calling boarding info on the loudspeaker. Thus it’s nice and not loud. At the last hour I changed my 5 to 3 stars bc the waiter basically stood above me to wait for me to drink my drink and eat my last bite of crab cake to give me a stare to take away my 1 cup and 1 plate and 1 fork and 1 spoon (they already took away all the other plates I left on the side as I knew the kitchen closed and I get it they have to wash dishes … I used to waitress). I understand they closed officially by a few min but there were 2-3 other people who were older men in gray suits sitting with their drinks and not being rushed w a male waiter standing and breathing on top of them to finish their last sips to take away their drink ware and dishes…they were not staff as staff were cleaning up. If I were the only person I get it…This waiter left a bad taste in my mouth so basically I will never return to this Legal Seafoods. I have been a waitress and as the staff are cleaning up and closing out for at least 1-2 hours after closing, it doesn’t feel good when someone stands above you to take away the 2 dishes. 🙄. I have never had that happen to me in any food establishment. I definitely did not expect that from this high priced place with what I thought was class.

Greeted by a wonderful kind waitress. Always pleasant , smiling and took pride in her job. Ordered clam chowda. Been coming here 40 years. It’s as good as it was any time before. Quite frankly, the best I’ve had evah ! Had a grilled blackened shrimp over Caesar salad. Awesome Monica Haywood is a truly special waitress.

Overall: 3.7/5 (dine in) We came on a Wednesday for early lunch so we were seated right away. The food came out pretty quickly too. Petite Lobster Roll & A Cup of Chowder ($38): I really liked the New England clam chowder. It didn't taste too heavy and was seasoned well. For the lobster roll, they offer two ways to prepare the lobster: 1. Poach in butter or 2. Mix with mayo. We opted for poach in butter which you can clearly taste. The lobster was good but not the freshest or juiciest. Legal's Signature Crake Cake ($26): This appetizer came with a seasonal salad which was good. The crab cake was full of crab chunks but I wasn't a fan of the texture. I wouldn't get this again.

The worst Fish and Chips I’ve ever had and at $27, the most expensive dire excuse for a British staple . They have a captive diner as not much choice or competition for them inside an airport! It started with a surly waitress who doesn’t even smile or greet you once you’ve sat down. No interaction with taking your order or conversation - it wasn’t busy! The bartender seems more interested in flirting with the lone traveller girls he’s tending - even offering to “help with the alcohol on company expenses” The attention to detail on everything leaves a lot to be desired on a pricy place like this … even the cleanliness I noticed wasn’t great on the tables or window ledges. No one checked on me or how the meal was, I left most of it as the chips were cold, the fish uneatable and when the waitress came back to take my plate - obvious that it hadn’t all been eaten asked if I wanted anything else, I told her no and that they were the worst fish and chips I’d ever had ….. “ohhh ok” was what I was replied with BUT she came back with my check and had taken $15 off - but personally it wasn’t even worth the $12 I paid for it …. I would not recommend this place for the food or the service at all !!

The burger was done how I requested it. I didn't want the fries so I substitute grill Asparagus which was absolutely perfect not to heavy on the seasoning. The wait staff was nice and keep my drink full but didn't dother me to much. It your ever in the Washington Airport I recommend giving them a try.

Love the clam chowder and lobster roll 🦞 Born in 1950 with the Berkowitz family opening of a fish market in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1968, the first Legal Sea Foods restaurant opened, right next to the fish market. Today, it has 23 outlets in the Eastern seaboard.

Legal Seafood at the airport! Yes! For all the hungry travellers... The amazing clam chowder, crispy calamari, the phenomenal crab cakes... The service was quick and the food was good. What more can you wish for ? I would recommend a stop if you have the time between your flights. The background music was a little too bi-bop-ish for me but I enjoyed the food!

It's a good place to relax before a flight. I sat at the bar and had the calamari and a beer. The service was fast but not pushy. The calamari was delicious and beer was cold. Great spot to recharge before your next leg of travel.

I had such a lovely lunch at the Legal Sea Foods here at the DCA airport. Albin and Jesse provided excellent, quick, friendly, and professional service. The wine was well portioned and tasty, the clam chowder was rich and generous although a bit cooler than I would have liked. I had a great time chatting with staff and guests and will be back next time I am at the airport! Thanks again Jesse for being so nice.

The food is quite good. The calamari was fresh and tender, and the salad had a lot of fresh greens. A great option if you want a proper meal in DCA’s terminal 2.

Was disappointed they didn't carry the gluten free buns for the lobster rolls at this airport location :(. Went with my second choice, the fried clams.. clams were ok, but the breading (gf) and fries were kinda mushy and not crispy.. so nothing really special there.. except the staff, they were great!

Food was quite good (tacos). Service was top notch and food arrived quickly. Atmosphere is fast paced, busy airport. TVs are placed so viewers can watch silently. Bar space was tight, but enough to eat. This is one of the best food options in the airport. Plan on it being busy. But expect quick service and good food. If you have an hour layover, give it a shot, as you'll likely have enough time to eat and walk to your gate. Do consider prep time based on your food choice! I'll stop in here again, for sure.

I always love going to this place. Today was subpar to be Frank about everything. The clam chowder was barely warm. The service was on the slow side. The other tuna was good along with the Greek salad. If I was cuter the service may have improved! But I am not that cute lol! I wish you could eat here without a plane ticket! Overall This is a good place to eat!

The service was great and friendly. They were playing some old-school hip-hop took me back. Food: I ordered the crab roll and clam chowder. The Clam chouder was delicious but it was a small portion. The crab roll was giant but it was the worst crab roll I have ever had. Severely under seasoned. For both items it was like $52

Excellent breakfast...had a great American Breakfast: eggs over medium, breakfast potatoes, bacon and toast - all for a very reasonable price - $14.95. They serve breakfast until 10:00 am. Rather quiet location compared to other parts of the airport nearer to the gates.

It's not inexpensive, but after a tiring work trip, it's a great reward. Very good cocktails, food menu isn't huge, but has some of the best highlights of Legal Seafood. My lobster roll tasted very fresh and well done, not heavy. The clam chowder was exactly as expected from Legal - chunky, plenty of clam and potato, a bit decadent but tasty.
