First time ever at a Russian restaurant! Wish we had one where I'm from. The waiter was very helpful at pointing out true traditional dishes. Had the following Pirozhki with beef filling...filo baked stuffed dough.... Excellent Borscht soup... I love it but this was better than I've had in the past... Full of cabbage and beef chunks! Mantis:. Steamed dumplings stuffed with lamb and veggies... Oh my! I couldn't finish it Ended with a flight of 5 infused vodkas.... If you've never been.. Go... If you have...I bet you'll go again?

This is a great place to dine! We loved everything about this restaurant: atmosphere, decor, the way tables are served with beautiful traditional Uzbek dishes, clean white table cloths, pleasant music, excellent service, and absolutely delicious food! The owner was so friendly and super sweet! Best Uzbek restaurant we've ever been in the US. Thank you RusUz for wonderful experience!

Would highly recommend and eat here again. Family friendly Russian Uzbekistan restaurant with great food and outdoor seating. We had the borscht, lamb shank, and cabbage wraps and they were all great. Service was also great. I've eaten indoors before and there is tablecloth dinner and the decor is ornate and seemingly traditional and authentic. I'm not Russian or Uzbekistan but the food is really good and seems authentic based on the languages you hear when eating here.

Absolutely love this place. Definitely a great place if your looking to have some European food. Wasn’t your average spot, which was exactly what we wanted! Had the beef stroganoff it was fantastic. The flavored vodka was great, they were out of some flavors so were hoping to try them next time we go in.

First time going to this fine dining establishment for my boyfriend’s birthday celebration with friends. Let’s start with covering the food- tasty overall and everyone enjoyed their meals expect the lamb shank was dry. The portions for myself was a bit too big but I get people love huge portions in general. Atmosphere- fancy Russian homey feel. Like eating in a formal dining room at a fancy home. On fridays night they close at 10pm But they turn on bright lights at 9:30pm To tell you to get out. Service- attentive but they rushed all 5 of us. My friends and I didn’t appreciate the service overall. You have been warned! Bathroom- appreciate the honesty of customer accountability on keeping the bathroom clean but everyone one of my friends said it’s like a doctors office bathroom experience with super bright lights. Honestly, I would not independently go back to this restaurant.

Amazing Uzbek & Russian cuisine served in nice dishes at a nice venue! Food was very tasty and the portions although are not large are enough for the price. Tried the Pilov, Manti, Salad Olivier, Honey Cake, and black tee and love them all. The only thing that I would improve was the service. Overall, I will definitely go back to explore the menu and recommend this place to all delicious food lovers.

Excellent service and nice decor. Lots of Uzbek families dining. We loved everything, especially the plov, chebureki and the black pepper flavored vodka. Prices were decent, and everyone who was helping us was really nice. We recommend!

Excellent food, prepared carefully and with appealing presentation. The meats especially were very well prepared, juicy without being greasy or hiding behind tons of spices like other places do. They also have an adjacent store for products from Central Asia

We've been enjoying lunches at Rus Uz for 4 years now, and the food is always absolutely delicious. The taste, aroma and color of the borsch are perfect! The stuffed cabbage is a generous portion of tender cabbage rolled around wonderfully spiced meat and covered with a divine tomato sauce. This restaurant also has a very nice ambience and quiet atmosphere. Everything is thoughtfully done, from the white linen tablecloths to the blue enamel salt and pepper shakers. Update: after all that time suffering through the COVID lockdown, I'm very happy to say that Rus Uz hasn't lost a step! The blini and borscht are as delicios as always, and the service is still prompt and friendly. I also discovered that they have some delightfully dark lagers to pair with the meal. The ambiance is marked by elegant decorations and artwork. The location in Ballston is very convenient.

Not very impressed with authenticity of food and quality of it as well. Presentation is very nice however the plov I’ve ordered was dry. Prices are kinda high but I’m guessing for the area they are normal.

First time at Ruz us. We started with borscht and the traditional potato salad, accompanied with their welcoming bread and sour cream. For their choice of entree, it's quite a healthy plate. We ordered Chicken Kiev and Beef Stroganoff, and they came with rice and a lot of greens. I like the stuffed chicken as it was delicious and not dry at all! Our dessert Baklava was sweeter than I expected, but it reminded me of the Turkish sweets I had before. I guess that was their traditional taste. Overall, I may not say the food was impressive, but all tasted good. I would come here for a casual Eastern European meal. They have a small store at the nearby corner that sells their groceries and cultural goods. If you dine at the restaurant first, they would give you a discount for shopping there!

Sumptuous atmosphere, beautiful wall art, attentive and friendly staff who will make you meal a great experience without annoyingly announcing that “they’ll be taking care of you”. Each of the dishes dishes we tasted was authentic, well-presented, and tasty. We weren’t prepared to drink, but we’ll definitely be back to try a flight of vodka shots which sounded wonderful. There’s a small market next the the restaurant which has lost of Eastern European delicacies. The restaurant provides a 10% coupon for the market with your bill. Definitely check this place out!

Nice ambiance. Seating inside or outside. Good food. Good wine. I have been in Central Asia several times, and this food compares well.

Always one of my favorite places to visit in Ballston-Clarendon area. The food is delicious and the services are wonderful! I am very partial to the Plov. However I also love the Blini, the Shurpa, the Borscht as well as the Manti. I also loved the various drinks they serve. I generally think you cannot go wrong with any thing you order here.

The waitress was very rude from the start. We asked to sit outside since it was really cold inside and they made us sit where it hot air was coming from the kitchen. We waited for our food for a long time; they didn’t give it to us until my friend went in there and complained. We wanted to enjoy our time together but couldn’t. The food was okay. One portion of Pelmeni was a lot so it’s better to order it if you’re with someone. The Ayron was also pretty good and the Lulya Kebab was mid. Overall I wish they could have better customer service.

I’ve come here three times now with my girlfriend, and the food and service have always been fantastic. The food is very authentic, hearty and flavorful with great portions. I’ve never left hungry, and I’ve loved everything I’ve eaten there. My favorites would probably be the Blini appetizer, and the Manti main course, and if you want a drink, they make a great Moscow Mule.

Very delicious. Taste like at home. Waitress looks a little tired or upset. I want to return again.

Rus Uz is by far the most cost effective Russian restaurant in the DC area. The staff speaks both Russian and English, and the food is excellent. Both Russian and Uzbek dishes are represented. The restaurant is clean and features both indoor and outdoor seating. Less than a five minute walk from the Ballston metro station makes it easily accessible.

Delightful Eastern European/Asian restaurants. Served a tasty tangy butter with their warm bread. Soft, well seasoned 'ravioli' with a yummy tomato and cream sauce. Come for the Uz, forget about the Rus.
