Came for brunch and got the eggs Benedict, french dip sandwich, and a latte. The eggs Benedict was just alright- it could have used more hollandaise sauce and the croissant underneath it was just ok. The French drip was excellent and the fries were alright. The pricing felt a bit steep for the Eggs Benedict but a great deal for the French dip.

First time here and Lyons Hall made a great impression. We were promptly seated at our reservation time. The staff was very courteous and attentive. As far as the food, we tried 2 appetizers, the escargot and the squid. Both were great to try. The squid was okay, the sauce and chickpeas made that dish. The escargot was a bit lost in the buttery garlic sauce. Great side basket of bread and spreadable butter. The entrees we tried were the chicken, the beef medallions, and the short rib entree. All 3 were pretty tasty. My cappuccino was right on. Great cup of coffee.

From my (delayed) celebratory birthday dinner since someone special had to work on my actual birthday/ national holiday in France 🇫🇷. Not pictured was the (amazing) escargot 🐌 appetizer or the German beer 🥨. Overall a very happy girl with a French 75 cocktail, escargot, mussels vin blanc with frites & ANXO Nevertheless cidre. My husband and son ordered the pork schnitzel with a side of fried brussel sprouts and the clams and chorizo with a few rounds of beer. There was room for dessert which was a (savory decadence) of the chocolate pot de crème and cappuccino. C’était délicieux!

Lyon Hall is incredible. Everything was perfectly cooked and so tasty. The short ribs, hanger steak, and mussels were 10/10. You can’t go wrong going to this place.

We arrived here for a reservation at 12 on a Saturday, but the restaurant was only about a third full, plenty of tables available so we probably didn't need a reservation. The servers were polite and quick, no issues there. Our food was quick to arrive, I got the lobster omelette and my wife got the burger. I highly recommend the burger, it was much better than the omelette and the salad was enjoyable.

Went for a corporate gathering. The private space was very cramped. Food was average, didn’t have a lot of options, although their service was pretty good and fast. Loved their dessert items and breads. The entrees were average.

We arrived without a reservation on a Saturday night and they were able to seat us which was nice. Unfortunately we chose a spot next to probably the loudest, most obnoxious group of guests in the place. Additionally, the restaurant dimmed the lights a bit much in the middle of the meal so it was hard to see after. Aside from that, the food was good. We got a half dozen oysters, the grilled octopus, the scallop entree and the beef Wellington. The total ~$145.

A good spot for weekend brunch. Lyon Hall has a big menu for brunch with appetizers, omelettes, sandwiches, and salads. I ordered the salmon Benedict and a pork sandwich with coleslaw and both were delicious. All tables come with a basket of bread. Nice atmosphere and service is good.

Very enjoyable European vibe with French and German foods. I love sampling wines from around Europe- a glass of French wine, something from Austria, dabble with a German wine. And on a warm spring evening, sitting outside with beer and a pretzel is hard to beat. The duck was delicious but they have so many good options that it’s hard to choose.

I finally got around to trying out Lyon Hall on Sunday, December 17, for dinner with friends. Dining at 4:00 PM on a game day Sunday is ideal for optimum service, with very few customers competing for attention. Our server, Milton, was outstanding. He was attentive, affable, and eager to accommodate our special requests. The Canadian mussels were large and flavorful in a wine and butter sauce. The charred Brussels sprouts were savory, and the golden frites had a crispy exterior with a fluffy interior. The moderately priced TYDY Sauvignon Blanc paired well. The mango sorbet for dessert was delicious, offering a bright flavor enjoyed with a medium-bold black coffee. After ordering coffee, I recalled seeing French Press offered on the menu, which will be my choice on my next visit to Lyon Hall. The ambiance was welcoming and inviting. The weather was overcast and raining, preventing quality interior photos.

Nice staff and fast service! Visited for happy hour and got some mussels with fries and beef dumplings. Only one cocktail on their HH menu but it was pretty good!

My friends and I went here for brunch. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves. I love a bistro. Everything from the feel to the food makes me feel continental and nostalgic for my time in Paris. Lyon Hall has a nice ambience with lots of versatility in its seating: indoor, outdoor, near a window, booths, high tops. We had the beignets to begin and they came with a dipping sauce (pumpkin crème anglaise-seasonal). The beignets themselves were piping hot and perfectly flavored. While generally pillowy, they were doughier than I typically like. The dipping sauce was light and lovely. For the main, I had the Croque Monsieur with fried egg, so technically a Croque Madame. Generally, I enjoyed the overall dish. Temperature, texture, and flavor were all right on point and the egg was cooked perfectly (which, believe it or not is difficult). The béchamel was flavored well, but would have liked more. The dish would have been too dry if it weren't for the runny egg yolk. The salad was a nice sharp compliment to the Croque Madame and brought balance to the overall dish. (It felt like a very classic bistro dish.) The service was good. Our server was nice and warm, though we did have to ask for refills a few times. I would have liked for them to check in on us more.

We came here for a weekend lunch, and the restaurant was almost fully packed. The mussels were just okay - many of them had sand inside. The Brussels sprouts was fine, but it’s definitely on the much more oil side of all the crispy Brussels sprouts that I’ve ever had. Overall, it didn’t particularly stand out, and I might not come back again.

OVER RATED!! We started our food with the Garden Salad and it was a true disaster!! Tasteless and not fresh (0/5)! The burger was good/ OK. The roasted chicken was good/ OK. The vibe and venue was just OK! So, nothing more than a 3.5 out of 5 starts. Will not be back.

Always great to eat at Lyon Hall. Tons of delicious food. Seafood, meat, and vegetables options in addition to solid drink selection.

Went to this place with all of my family, was asked if we had a reservation with the restaurant half empty. The service was 3 star service and bit slow, the food was 4 stars in my opinion. The sides were amazing and very tasty however the main dishes were ok. My burger came a bit soggy and wet by the half tomatoes they put in it. My wife’s steak was just ok nothing over the top. But would definitely return to try more items on their menu.

What a great bistro. Good food, good atmosphere and service, a great value. And for all ages as my kids often had brunch here or got a burger for dinner. Sitting outside is a great option and really takes me back to Parisian cafes from when I studied in Paris. The burger with the semi-pungent cheese is so good. I rarely eat burgers but this one is worth. If all restaurants could be this awesome!

The schnitzel sandwich was okay, coffee amazing; service was a wee bit slow for Saturday breakfast and there was no crowd.

Came in for some happy hour drinks and appetizers. We got the SJF (vodka lime ginger beer cocktail) which were really good. We also ordered the smoked brisket dumplings & the pommel frites. The dumplings were incredible, like empanadas with brisket with a Smokey sweet BBQ type sauce. The fries were good too. Overall pretty good, and would like to come back for a proper meal!

This was my first time here and I have mixed thoughts about this place. First I want to say the service and outside atmosphere were great, no complaints there. The Fleur de Lis cocktail was delicious, but unfortunately I did not like the orange wine as it was too bitter for me and I had to send it back. The Vin Blanc mussels hot pot was delicious and can easily be split by 2 to 3 people. You almost need extra bread because the broth was so delicious! Unfortunately I didn't feel that way about the filet medallions. The beef tasted old and I was not impressed with the tomatoes and potatoes or the sauce. The dessert menu looked okay, nothing really jumped out at me that I would try but I was glad they did offer a gluten-free dessert. I would still like to come back and try the different flavor mussel hot pots and try some of their ports. I will say that the Cabernet Sauvignon option by the glass was absolutely delicious, and I need to find it at Total wine.

I stopped in for the happy hour specials and tried the Vin Blanc Mussels tossed in garlic, crème fraiche, spinach, shallots & parsley. They were lovely and I always love dipping my bread in the super flavorful broth. I had to wait a bit while the fresh bread was baking but it was m fresh & hot when it came.

The restaurant offers French and German cuisines. A lot of meat options. The restaurant has two levels and outdoor seating. Street parking is available. They offer brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. We went for dinner. It was busy but we had a reservation. It’s a lively atmosphere with dim lighting. We tried the pretzel with smoked cheddar fondue, honey butter, and spicy mustard. I would prefer a softer pretzel but each spread complimented the pretzel well. The pan roasted salmon was good. We liked that they made the salmon skin crispy. The pork schnitzel was hearty. The cabbage was al dente and pickled just right.

The onion soup was great! It’s definitely a must if you visit this place. The service is really good and the people are very nice. It’s a good choice if you want to go with family or friends. Great place to go to enjoy with your French book club.

If you ever come for brunch, make a reservation. It was pretty busy when my friends and I went. Just make sure the front staff forgets you're waiting at the bar for your seating to be available. Overall we enjoyed our food. The crab cake benedict was ok, I wouldn't order it again. However, my friends loved their Brioche French toast and Beef Bourguignon. The service was overall great. The bartender was awesome and our server did everything with passion, so it made the experience much better!

Our second time at Lyon Hall. And this time we brought friends! Everything was just as perfect as the first time. My steak was perfectly cooked to how I wanted it. The cheeses were deliciously smooth and great with the fresh hot baguettes. They had tasty vegetarian options too. Always a pleasure to visit Lyon Hall when we travel to DC.
