Wonderful day out from Yerevan. I walked from my hostel but there are vans or taxis if you don't fancy a 20km hike. Good museum and although the souvenir shop wasn't open there were one of two items at the entrance to the museum. The ruins are inspirational and the views of Mount Ararat are beautiful - depending on the weather, mainly on the haze. WCs, parking and minibuses stop right outside. 1,300 dram for foreigners. The van costs 300 dram. March 2023 prices.

Great archaeological site to visit to appreciate the cathedral that once stood there. The Museum within the site provided good in-depth background of the history.

I visit it in summer, it was very hot. The temple is not big but nice. There are many apricot trees in the site. We let to pick the fruits by the staff. First experience picking apricot from the trees, lovely

Beautiful remains of a temple built in the 7th century and destroyed in the 10th century, that inspired architecture of many other buildings. The area is large and one of the best in town to take beautiful pictures. Great occasion to dress up on a clear day to make unforgettable memories. The museum behind the ruins is also a great visit, with lot of information and interesting artifacts to see.

A bit hidden and not well visible from the main road, but well worth a brief stop.

Saw someone's review saying that it was free entry, it is not, the price for foreigners are 1300dram. There are other pricing for students and others but since we're foreigners we paid for the 1300. If you would like to take a guide in foreign language, it'll cost 4000dram, in local language it will be 2000dram. Professional photography at 5000dram for 5 minutes. The entrance is "free" if you purchased the Yerevan Card which can be found and purchase online. Other than the ruins, you can also visit an inscription museum inside. After the gate you'll have to walk for a distance before you reached the ruins. If you're someone who's into history, it is quite interesting and we spent around 1hr here. Only cash and no card accepted when we were there Before we went through the gate, the staff were asking us if we need a taxi after we're done. We said no. When we're done the staff approached us again with a taxi driver to ask us again if we need a taxi. We refused because our apartment host specifically told us to not use local taxi and only use yandex because it's safer.

A very old holy place in Armenia, near Yerevan, which belongs to about 1400 years ago! It is of course in UNESCO world heritage list. So you have to visit it in your trip to Yerevan. Behind the place, there is a museum that belongs to it, and there, you can read and see the hole story and details. The oldest sun watch in Armenia, is in here 🤠 enjoy it.

We used Google maps to get there and it took us through a grape field, really bad terrain. Ended up to the place which looked in the middle of nowhere and noticed that there were proper concrete roads to getting there. FYI
