Itโ€™s a beautiful, old monument situated in mountain. Heard itโ€™s resting place for traders using Silk Road. The drive through vandenyats pass was so beautiful, the best views you will get in Armenia. Feels like you are in the road to nowhere. And views of valley from the monument is magnificent. There is a very friendly couple selling things in a car. We bought some good homemade wine , dry fruits from them .

Beautiful, well preserved monument. This is a stop over to the traders using the Silk Road to take rest with their animals. Nice views of the valley from here.

Drive in the mountain in Armenia is a good experience, landscapes changes almost every curve and they are widely different. The 50km long drive between Martuni and Yeghegnadzor really worth the rental of the car. In the middle of the road you can find this caravanserai, not beautiful outside as it is inside. Cold and spectral, it has no special description about the activity but the structure let you imagine yourself how this horses garage worked.

Old medieval homestay by Orbelyans, high on the mountains, in the middle of nowhere with breathtaking views. Please note that itโ€™s very cold over there :))

Silk road era inn in a mountain pass. Beautiful view of the valley towards yeghergnadzor and an interesting building. There are a also a few signs around giving some historical background and significance. Definitely worth stopping at but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.

We visited this place in early December and though we didn't get to go inside, the outside itself was superb for us. This was the first time we experienced snow up close in Armenia which made the point a magical surprise for us, the entire family enjoyed this point. Definitely recommended to go only before complete snowfall will start or at the end season if visiting during winter otherwise in summer it would be a beautiful drive with lush green on either side of the roads.

The Drive from Areni to Orbelians Caravanserai is one of the most beautiful trips you can make in Armenia! Just make sure you fuel up with gas before you cross the mountains! The scenerie is epic and the landscape changes every 30 minutes!

One continues to think how amazing I must have been in the old days. PROS 1) gets one back to the history of the Silk Road and its role back in the days 2) on the side of the road as one drives on 3) beautiful scenery, unique architecture and interior layout CONS 1) I wish there were plans or explanations about how did the interior layout served the purpose back in the days

I am a fan of old structures built centuries ago and still standing up to this date. This was built for the use of weary travellers passing at the mountains in the province of Vayots Dzor in Armenia.

One of the most mystical places in Armenia. It's better drive from Sevan region, for using this road will let you see the whole beauty of the area, feel the spirit of old travelars from Silk Road.

There is not a lot to see, but worth a visit. You have a great view of the surrounding mountains. Also, we met a friendly local couple, who sold fruits, jam and sweets.
