My husband and I stayed for 2 nights and overall the experience was good but didn't fully meet our expectations. The rooms are beautiful and have an amazing view, the sauna and Turkish bath are great and the breakfast was pretty good, however there were a couple of details we didn't like and small things we were expecting given the type of hotel and the rate. It seemed as if corners were cut in terms of quality of service: * There is no complementary water in the rooms. There are bottles of water in the mini bar but usually hotels always have water available for the guests in the rooms for free. * We had to wait for around 30 min to get our room the day we arrived. Apparently, there were too many guests arriving at the same time and only 2 guys at the front desk to help. We had to fill out a form previously to our arrival specifying the expected time of arrival. I assumed they would use this to plan for when we reach the hotel: *We felt that some of the staff didn't care much about whether or not we were having a good time or if we needed anything else. When we did the check out no body asked whether we had had a good stay or how we had found the hotel. Ps. There should be a door in the toilet

Amazing place, great service and beautiful location. There are some issues with the execution as in the pools are not climatized I had issues when I checked in and had no water but they did try really hard to many things better. The food is astounding and the views are magical.

We were very impressed by the hotel once we arrived and even more when we saw our room with private jacuzzi. Unfortunatelly with every day the details made our stay less and less comfortable. Starting from the restaurant staff, who did not speak english at all, through very long time of reaction to even easiest requests, to damaged window (what made us wake up together with birds at 5am). At the end of stay they lost our confirmation of payment and made us wait almost an hour until they found it, what was extremely stressful due to plane we had to catch. In general - if You speak spanish and have great patience and tolerance for irritating details, it will be great place to stay. Otherwise, I would recommend waiting until owners start to pay attention to the details.

A truly magical stop on our honeymoon to Colombia. Bio Habitat is an oasis in the Colombian countryside, our "Grand Master Suite" was phenomenal - our own hot tub, pool, and floor to ceiling windows that opened up onto a net to lay in. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was decorated tastefully and was extremely clean. The staff was awesome - they were so friendly and helpful, offering a welcome drink when we arrived a bit before check in and encouraging us to enjoy the amenities after we checked out and were waiting for our taxi. The food exceeded our expectations and the previous reviews I had read - we ordered room service for dinner and breakfast, both of which were presented, warm, and tasty (given that our "room" was standalone and a 5 minute drive from the kitchens, and we had lunch in the restaurant the next day. We were blown away by how delicious our meal was - we had delightful pastas with Colombian ingredients (the smoked trout ravioli was out of this world) and the dessert cake we had was perfectly sweet. The entire space is wonderful and we could have spent much more time there. We highly recommend it!

Five stars. Easy to recommend. Our Grand Master Suite was incredible. Amazing view. Wi-Fi and hot tub worked perfectly. The service and food were great too. We booked the 2 hour cafe massage and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Really surprised to see the negative reviews here. Tip: The local supermarket can deliver here if you need anything for a tiny delivery fee. Recommend the BBC beer and the nido caribeno appetizer. Can’t wait to come back and visit the Bio Habitat Hotel again!

We had the grand suite. Individual excellence from the ladies at the bar, Joanna at the wellness bar, Carlos at front desk. The setup for the private pool and jacuzzi meant that you had to pick between either a dirty pool or freezing jacuzzi. Would have made sense to run the pool filter on a fixed schedule and run the jacuzzi on demand. Also, the heating unit for the water/jacuzzi (gas powered), is directly beneath the hammock area, leaving the hammock area enveloped in the smell of gas. Similar design flaws in the spa- the crystal pool basically has no means of cleansing/filtering the layer of polen/leaves/flies that float on top; entry and exit are dangerous and difficult for most given the absence of a ladder or stairs (little over 5 feet in depth throughout). Spent COP730000 on spa treatments - the spa manager never once inquired about our experience - my deep tissue was fantastic; my wife's hot stone was rather disappointing. Biggest flaw/disappointment however, was the customer service. It felt as though they all recently received news that they would not be getting any bonus or pay raise - because nearly everyone (few exceptions mentioned above) seemed apathetic and disinterested in providing for a good customer experience. Manager was absent during our stay as well; if I had to change the one thing- it would be management. Feels as though it has been absent /ineffective for a while, leading to frustrated employees, thus impacting customer service.

Beautiful place, rooms and atmosphere. The food and the drinks are great. Our suite did not have a door for the restroom which I find extremely weird. The service is the bad part of this place: 2 hours for pizza, had to order a cup of wine 4 times and still never got it. They forgot to bring a bottle of gin I had order. The price per night is higher than in a Four Seasons hotel, yet the service at BIO Habitat is terrible. I would not recommend this place.

This is a 4 Star hotel but I had to drop a star for the really poor communication and staff service. Pros: Really nice hotel and facilities with a good spa (part of the swimming pool, and one of the saunas are currently broken). We would recommend using the spa to sit by the pool rather than the reception area as it is much quieter. We had a double room which we found was quite small, but it had good facilities and being in the jungle was fun! Some of the staff are excellent (Paula), and had good English and good service. The food is great and very reasonably priced, with a lot of selection. Cons: We don’t speak Spanish, and the staff with no English would actually avoid us and didn’t provide a good service. Very hard to communicate. Communication before and after the stay was through WhatsApp and it was a struggle to communicate properly. We weren’t able to book trips through the hotel in advance because of this. Also, check in is at 3pm with no exceptions. Every day all of the new guests would arrive and would be sat around with this big rush at 3pm for everyone to check in. I don’t see why they can’t check people in sooner if the rooms are ready. Some of the rooms (ours) were much further into the jungle with a significant walk to get to them. The rooms are also not bug free, with some gaps in the door. The layout of the rooms and locking mechanism of the door was also unsafe I felt, as you have to unlock the door with your keys. The day trips (howler monkeys) were really fun although much more expensive than if you organise yourself. We stayed for 4 nights which I think was too many. I would suggest to stay for 2 or maybe 3 nights in total, as the cramped room and jungle conditions will get to you after a while.

I spent 3 days at this hotel during my honeymoon. Initially, I was delighted with the modern interiors and the room we got. However, the problems started from the very beginning. Almost no one from the staff spoke English, the lady who served us at check-in was unable to provide any specific information (such as how much it costs to wash clothes). There were plenty of imperfections in the room, most likely caused by use by previous guests. In such a class of hotel, however, such things should be repaired on a regular basis - unscrewed hangers and toilet bowl, non-functioning jacuzzi (we had to ask the staff to turn it on and off each time), broken soap dish. At the very end of the trip, during check-out, it turned out that the hotel was unable to find our payment confirmation. We waited almost an hour until they found it. This was very stressful because of the flight we had booked that morning. In my opinion, the hotel really needs to make many equipment repairs and definitely invest in service training.

It's not often I am absolutely blown away. The staff, the food, the cocktails, the accommodation, just everything. There are different types of rooms. Some higher with a view, some lower in the forest. We stayed in a grand master suite with a private pool and jacuzzi. The accommodation was exceptional. The floor to ceiling windows open up the entire room if you so choose. We ate at the restaurant every day. The food is exceptional. Additionally, in the evening, we would ask the bartenders to create a cocktail simply by telling them which liquor and what flavour profile we were interested in (eg. smoky or citrus etc.). Every night we were treated to the most incredible drinks. Jefferson in particular was phenomenal, and took extra care to experiment with the cocktails (one night he randomly create a coffee bourbon cocktail that we still think about today). Every single staff member from the front desk, to the cleaning staff, to the servers, to the kitchen, were the most hospitable people you could meet. This was truly an exceptional stay. Thank you to the entire team for an amazing stay.

It had the potential to be one of the best hotel experiences ever... it felt too short!!! The room was cold (19 degrees inside); I've called the reception several times to ask for an heating. After 5 or 6 calls and walking to the reception, I was informed that the heatings were all distributed. As a result of it, we had to use thick jackets when we were in the suite. This is not the kind of comfort that we expect from a high-end resort, especially when you pay extra for a suite. We pre-ordered the dinner food, and we still had to wait 45 minutes to get our food. Again, the order was not complete. We booked the sauna for a specific time, but when we got there, it was overbooked. Half of the time we were in the room, there was no running water. After our complaint, we were offered 15% discount for our next stay... After this awful experience, not even with a gun agains my head will I be back!

Property is amazing, atmosphere great, views are awesome. We booked a grand master suite and we were very excited for our trip that we even invited another couple who happen to travel with us and also booked the same room. All great, but I do suggest better service at the restaurant. Also, please make sure your jacuzzi works properly, and before checking someone into a room make sure the entance to room is clean and the pool is clean and full. Both rooms the jacuzzi never got hot. Coming from the service industry, I understand is hard to put everything back to it's place and clean after they had a big wedding, but attention to detail is key specially for outsiders who have a high spectation of your place. Also please pay someone to answer the phone. Again customer service is key to to those traveling from outside Colombia. Trying to connect with front desk was very difficult.

Really cool hotel with amazing rooms and a good vibe! The service was great, although a bit slow at the restaurant. The restaurant is tasty but definitely not at the caliber the rest of the hotel is. There's ample opportunity for growth there. The rooms are beautiful with amazing views to the greenery. You feel you are in a tree house. The only thing I would add is a bit more lamps (the rooms are quite dark at night) and a door to the bathroom so there's more privacy, especially if someone is at the door.

Beautiful place, but lacks in service, unfortunately. High expectations because of the environment and all things nice, but they just don't seem to be able to live up to them/pair them in service. At least, that was our experience. Not sure if we'd return. Breakfast great, with tranquil music, but the day and night vibe music wise.doesn't fit the bill for the tranquility we are looking for. So, it's gorgeous inside and out, but you don't see it if you arrive late, and reception doesn't tell you about it at check-in. The room was pretty with a nice terrace, but cold (18 degrees C and on full airco when we got inside). This area can be very humid and fresh, and the rooms are all windows and concrete, some wood. We called reception several times to ask for heating, and told they would inquire and call us back. But after reminder calls an even walking up to reception, we were informed that the heatings were all distributed. As a result of it, we had to use a thick jacket and (fleece, not a nice woolen) blankets when we were in the suite. This is not the kind of comfort that we expect from a high end place. The bed was big and bliss. We pre-ordered the dinner food, to save some time, and when we arrived at the restaurant at the agreed time, we still we had to wait 45 minutes to get our food, and the order was not complete. Staff were very sweet, the food was nice, but was not up to par. Good side salad and deserts. We booked the sauna for a specific time but when we got there, there were still people and towels around. We ended up not going. This place supposedly boasts a swimming pool and a jacuzzi - water is luke-cold, and albeit you can sit in the jacuzzi if you'd want to, the pool is not much more than ornamental and about 30 cm deep, more poodling for kids-like. We ended up without any water for 2 times, just after we had a great massage in our room, too. And getting up early for the guided bird walk, the guide didn't come as it had been raining and there were little people on the list - right: the hotel indicated that I could just come the next morning to jot down my name, didn't need to do that on the list the evening before... Still did the lovely walk with a fellow guest who was dissapointed, too. We got binoculars from.reception, which was nice. So, all it all, a mixed experience.

Great hotel for your stay in Quindio and area that offers a beautiful setting. Loved waking up every morning to the lush views, going exploring during the day and coming back for a swim. Staff here are excellent and ready to help (yes, not all of them speak perfect English as per some comments, however... you're not back home or at a chain hotel either). Food is among the best you will find in the area too. Thanks for the great and unique stay.

Beautiful hotel. Our room was amazing but also quite pricey. But it was worth it. Our friends had a cheaper bungalow and there were some downsides like missing privacy (bathroom and toilet) and missing mosquito net in all rooms. The staff was mostly super friendly, expecially Daniela our waitress. The food and breakfast was delicious also the view from the hotel. Overall a wonderful experience

Currently i am ratting this hotel based on the customer service inconvenience I am getting put through. I had a personal last minute trip planned to Colombia and have been wanting to go to this hotel with my husband but unfortunately the trip to Colombia had to be changed to a future date due to work related issues. I have been trying to get in touch with someone to try and change my reservation and the only answer I received was telling me that I can only make changes 15 days out of my reservation. We booked our stay 10 days before so pretty much I am getting told I can't get a refund or credit to a future stay. I have been trying to communicate with a manager or higher up but none has answered my calls, email, WhatsApp messages and Instagram DMs. My reservation is for August 11th and hope reaching out through here I can get a response regarding a credit for sure stay or refund. Again my intention is to stay here in the near future but this inconvenience has really been difficult.

The Peñas Blancas room where we stayed was very good, but we take a big risk when entering the glass pool and one of its crystals was broken. We traveled from Houston with my wife and family and we were not able to enjoy the pool, they did not alert us that We were at risk and there was no danger notice with the pool, please be careful and look carefully when you are using the hotel's wet rooms. Another situation was that the sauna always does not work, it was disabled at all times during our visit.

We were first recommended Bio Habitat by family who had been, and it certainly did not disappoint. We were blown away by the amenities, the landscape, the food and the service. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating and it is such a special place to spend a few days. A special thanks to Oscar in the kitchen for his help!

It is beyond my expectation in all areas. The glass cabin is one of kind design and fully embedded in the forest. My unit has total privacy since it is far away from others. Not all the staff can speak English fluently. But they all try their best to accommodate the guests. It is the sweet nature of Colombian ppl I appreciated in my whole trip in Columbia. I have to mention Fernando who speak English very well and volunteered to help us to exchange the flight ticket at airline office in the town for us. It saved us huge trouble to leave resort and deal with Spanish only local ppl. The food and service is overall 5 star. For the tennis players, it is a nice surprise to have a private tennis court which is not mentioned on their website. The spa on mountain is definitely a heaven like experience. They also provide free yoga class by water which I can’t enjoyed more. I read some review about bad service there. It is unfortunate by miscommunication probably. The people genuinely are super nice but English not perfect. My friend forgot her passport in another city and the hotel staff tried all their best to get it back for her. They also very patient with her every inquiry even going through financial payments twice with her. Anyway, I think this hotel is a hidden gem. I will definitely come back to this utopia in Armenia.

Wow! Stayed here for 2 nights for a solo trip and was truly blown away. The tree houses rooms hidden in the forest, the peaceful spa and dining facilities, and the staff were all incredible. Great breakfasts and views across the hotel. The entire hotel experience is very well thought out from the welcome massage at the spa to the daily yoga practices and nature walks across the land. Would love to come back one day, a true oasis in Columbia!

My husband and I had an amazing experience. I’m from Colombia and he is Hungarian he was completely amazed by the nature and the uniqueness of the hotel. I complain about the general costumer service in Colombia, but Bio Habitat took care of every one of my needs. I have a special diet and the service from Paola, Eric, Chef Mike and Catalina was impeccable. My only complaint was the stairs on the way to the rooms need more light but other than that we recommend this place :)

Just spent four nights at Bio Habitat. Loved the helpful desk staff who had great suggestions for day trips to nearby Cocora Valley. Wonderful waitstaff and also want to give a shout out to my wonderful yoga teacher Nancy who leads sessions by the pool in the wellness center. Our room was fantastic with an unforgettable view and our private jacuzzi outside. Ask for the sunset master room. Breakfast was delicious always. Want to come back .

THE MUSIC NEEDS TO STOP. This place is all about touting wellbeing, relaxation and transformation but you are bombarded by electro techno at a moderate volume ALL day. It’s such a pity in a beautiful natural setting that there is such an emphasis on this background music all the time. It permeates the pool and restaurant areas and even reaches some of the rooms such that it’s inescapable. Pro top: if you’re placed in the Cordillera rooms, ask to be moved immediately. There are city views (not trees), a lot of ambient light and the music from the pool area - unless, of course, that’s your jam. The service is hit or miss - very quick and efficient or nonexistent. There was water on the floor of our room when we arrived and the bellman told us he’d send someone over. In the end, no one came and we mopped it up using our own towels. The locale and landscaping is beautiful. It’s truly an aesthetic gem. However, the price/value ration simply isn’t there. You would be better off at a traditional coffee plantation house for 1/4 of the price.

Amazing from beginning to end. We stayed in one of the Salvarios and thoroughly enjoyed being in the middle of nature. Everything was very new and clean, the bed huge and comfy and the outdoor areas amazing. Only thing is there is little space to store/put stuff and it’s missing an option to make tea in the room. The hotel area is breathtakingly beautiful and even has an own hiking path. The staff is so attentive and friendly and food delicious

Holly molly, this is one of my favorite hotels I have ever stay in, the price is worth it.... staff is excellent and all the amenities are outstanding. Will definitely come back again. Will give them a 5 start review if they change the chef. Food is so so for the place.... Kinda a 3 start food restaurant

Absolutely spectacular. We stayed in a Master Suite, absolutely stunning view with a jacuzzi. Relatively close to the super cool villages of Filandia and Salento. The hiking trail is very neat feature. The Wellness Center is an absolute must. Food is solid.

Beautiful luxury hotel set in the hills of Quindio, Colombia. If you're looking for a bit of a private getaway then there's few places quite like this. We spent our time in one of the Grand Master suites, which included a hot tub and a swimming pool, as well as fully openable double height glass walls. It was a pretty magical place, we ended up not leaving the suite at all and had room service delivered. Do note that as it's set in the hillside, some of the suites can be a bit of walk to get to/from, even with their buggy service. Definitely expect a longer wait than usual for your food if you go for room service.

This hotel property is absolutely breathtaking. We had the privilege to experience a beautiful clear view of the Nevados and the Cordillera. Our Aviary room was gorgeous and cozy - we were able to see so many beautiful birds from the comfort of our bed. The restaurant and the bar are also exceptional and offered a break from the typical fried food we had been eating in Colombia. The cocktails were exceptional and the food was delicious - the service is not fast but I see this as an opportunity to enjoy company with whomever you are with and appreciate the wonderful food when it arrives. Unfortunately, our experience was tainted particularly by the gentlemen at the reception desk. These are the people that create the first impression and it was disappointing that the first staff we met did not have a friendly attitude. As I was asking questions about the property and asking about our check-in there was a lack of eye contact as he continued to look at the computer screen. Additionally, I inquired about the bird-watching session and was told by the receptionist that it was not necessary to book a reservation and that it would only be canceled if it was raining. The following day, we woke up to a beautiful day and were looking forward to the bird-watching sessions with the biologist however once we arrive at the reception desk the gentleman indicated that we had not signed up and no other guests had impressed interest so it was canceled...Evidently, we were given contradicting instructions and we were made to feel like this was our fault so I recommend the hotel work on creating an experience that is in line with the property, especially if you only offer one event a day. We felt disappointed that there was little accountability for mistakes as an apology was not offered.

The best hotel and location we had in our trip to Colombia. It was like staying in a middle of forest, every suit is secluded from the others, view is wonderful and there are trails if you want to take a hike in the forest.very recommended for a good relaxing time.
