Nov.25 2023 A simple buffet (not the Fonda restaurant) offered by this hotel must be reserved even if you are staying at its Panaca sister property. Our party was never informed of such absurd protocol, and we were unwelcome after traveling to this location, Manager on site poorly handled the situation with a go back and have dinner at your own location. VERY uncomfortable situation; I will never come back to Heliconias or reserve any type of SERVICES with them. NOT RECOMENDED

Our experience was not the best. But I can also understand that many guests would love this place. We first got a "sandwich-room" between a family, but got another room the day after. The hotel have a lot of bureaucracy; with limited seats at the al la carte restaurant. First on our third day, we manage to get a reservation - but the food there where so bad that we left, and went to the buffet instead. But we also had good meals from time to time. The service is mostly good (we just meet one grumpy lady at the tour office), the rooms are big (but with no coffee-machines). It's also sad that you often get drinks in small paper cups at the bar, when they run out of plastic (!) glasses. This hotel could be so much better with some small changes... The guests are 99,7% locals from Colombia. So my point of view is with "foreign eyes". We stayed for four nights. That was enough.

A disappointing experience. Even though I recommended it to my wife as a good brand, I am sure next time we come to Colombia we will not chose Decameron again. The snack bar staff is extremely rude. Some of the attractions they offer simply do not take place (e.g. yoga, mini golf). And most importantly, the quality of food offered is not as expected for an all inclusive resort.

    1. Even if you are legally an American citizen, the Decameron company has a policy of not exchanging dollars if you were born in Colombia. So I was informed at the reception. 2. Read the fine print!! The contract states that you can use the facilities of the other hotel. But when they arrive at the hotel, they unilaterally change that condition. You have to show him the copy of the contract and it's still a hassle. 3. There is no coffee maker in the rooms. Other than that, great location and beautiful Blvds. Great service but At the level of management not to nice people.

The staff is amazing and the location is beautiful. The resort provides transportation for the events you want to attend. The staff in the buffet is friendly and very polite. They all do their best to accommodate your needs. I would highly recommend them and return. 😄

It wad a fantastic, all- inclusive resort that is a very sensible place for large groups of people, especially if there are elderly people in the group. A wide range of activities are available for all age groups, and the many pools keep you entertained... The food has a great variety, and is decent. You get more quantity than quality, but for the experience, it's worth it.

It was my worst experience ever, my paper wrist band given by the hotel fell in my room before we left to visit towns. When we came back to the room, it was clean but the wrist band was not in the room. They charged me $15 for the wrist band, and also, the lady at the front desk was being rude. The hotel does not have amenities at all, just a small pool. There is not many activities nor trails to walk, so there is not much to do at the hotel.

•No children activities after 4pm •If you arrive before check in time (3pm), you have to pay to use the pool and or eat. •only 15 pool chairs, impossible to sit and relax by pool •staff does not kno how to accommodate international tourist, the hotel is more for locals. •No air conditioning •Beds are spring and old •buffet has literally 8 options In conclusion, if you are used to traveling and having great experiences from places that have experience with actual “tourist”, then this hotel is not for you.

Unable to book same day using credit card, rush to bank and pay after spending 15 mins booking. Arrive at hotel and they don’t have any details. Great. Then have to sign disclaimer for not taking a safe that is extra. Do they have problems with their staff stealing. Got to wear a band all the time so they can track who is entitled to free food/drink. That’s in the basis that the security guard lets people through. Also makes it easy for local towns to spot the tourists - not impressed. Wifi - pay by the hour - seriously unbelievable. Now trying to book tour which is unbelievable painful. Would I come back, not sure at moment as not made it to the room yet. Let’s see how it goes. Ok, swimming pool. Exceptionally small and not a good standard for the location. More than 15 people and it will be cramped. Mini golf course - not quite as translated. It’s a putting style thing. Not pitch and putt. Unable to drink water in room, small bottle of water there and have to phone reception whenever you need more. Room does not have aircon/swampy cooling. Basic cheap fan to push air around the room. Room is quiet until people walk past the window, not much if anything by way of sound installation. Food - not too bad but not much of a selection. Free drink is limited to BBC fraught beer in approx 1/3 pint size plastic glasses. Cocktails are available but overall not as good as they sell it to be. Look at the people who are giving it 5 star reviews, all Local Guides. Not a true reflection given the price of the property. Location is stunning that is one thing that I cannot argue about.

It a good place, but has a lacks of activities and the pool is little. We were told that you could go to the other hotel but because of the situation they were not offering the service

We really enjoyed our stay here at the Hotel Decameron Las Heliconias. The food was excellent both in the specialty restaurant and the buffet. The staff at the restaurant and around the property are super friendly and helpful. They provide shuttle service from the hotel to the park Panaca. We will definitely stay again.

It’s an all inclusive with lots of beauty and places to relax. Just enjoy the walking around the colonial building stop at the bar grab a drink go back to your balcony and enjoy lying down in “hamaca” ( hammock ) . Be sure you ask for a room with patio. Food is good at the buffet . Good variety for a small buffet. All inclusive except for Internet.. be ready you will need to pay for that.. a big downside for international travelers who need to remain connected .

Great place in contact with nature. I got fascinated by all the birds you can hear when you wake up and when you see them in the hotel area and how they interact with guests. I guess the hotel itself can improve on many things like food and drinks or room quietness, but the arquitecture and nature is astounding.

Very cool place to come with your family and have a wonderful time in the pool and in the nights with the shows. In this case it was a show of magic and a show of a very good singer of Rancheras. The rooms and the houses are splendid as they conserve all the good architecture of the region, and it is all very well in this aspect. All the people of the service is very kind and help you with that you need. Awesome to “live” for some days in so wonderful place. It has also good food, but it could be better in the days that you can order. I mean, is that the presentation is very good but the texture leaves you something in mind that it is missing more. Also the cocktails where better before.

😠 Had a nice time at the park. Unfortunately had to leave the hotel earlier then expected and this hotel never returned the money I paid for the extra days that were remaining. I’ve been to many hotels and this is the first time I get I can’t get a refund for time I will not be in the facility. Never...
