Kanyakumari, also know as Cape Comorin during British rule is popular for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. Another nature's gift that makes this place so unique is the Triveni Sangam - confluence of Bay of Bengal, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea. There are several beaches (Kanyakumari beach, Muttom beach, Thengapattinam beach, Chothavillai beach, Sanguturai beach, Colachel beach) near around the town, but most of them are bound by rocks and not an ideal place to play in waves or swimming, except Sanguturai beach which is a white sandy beach in this region with ideal conditions to swim. One of the iconic monuments in Kanyakumari, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial is located 100 meters from the shore and is one of the major tourist attractions in Kanyakumari. The small rock island can be reached by a ferry and consists of two main structures, the Vivekananda Mandapam and the Shripada Mandapam. Thiruvalluvar Statue, the massive 133 feet tall statue is of the Saint Poet Thiruvalluvar, who was considered to be one of the greatest Tamil poets in India. Thiruvalluvar Statue is one of the biggest in Asia and was unveiled on the 1st of January 2000. The pedestal of the statue is artistically designed and is decorated with 10 elephants that signify the various directions. Padmanabhapuram Palace, the old granite fortress was the residence of the Travancore Rulers and was constructed around 1601 AD. The fort complex contains several important buildings like the King’s council Chamber, Thai Kottaram or the Mother’s palace and the Natakasala or the house of performances etc. The fort also has a small museum that contains various artifacts from the older times and various weapons like swords and daggers, paintings, Chinese jars and a plethora of wooden furniture. Kanyakumari Temple is also referred to as Bhagvaty Amman Temple and is one of the 108 Shakti Peetha in Hindu mythology. The temple is one of the major Hindu temples across India and is mentioned in almost all the ancient Hindu scriptures. This temple is also renowned for the nose ring of Kanya Devi, which is very powerful and the glitter from the ring can seen from long distance. Suchindram is a holy place and a town of temples situated on the bank of river Pazhayar. The temples here are built in the distinctive Dravidian style and are adorned with massive gopurams which are a common characteristic of all the Dravidian temples. The highest gopuram is 134 feet high and the inside of the temples sport various exquisite rock cut pillars and gateways.

Best place to see sunset. This place looks cool and very breezy air will come in the evening. Seats are there to sit and see the nature of the sea. We can see sunset comfortably here.

The best thing about this amazing sunset view point is that it's free. The place is quite clean and huge enough for hundreds of people. Although when we went there, it was completely empty except a couple of other people. Most probably because we went there during day time. It's located behind the Annai resorts hotel. You can see the different seas merging from here and the sunset view would be beautiful I imagine. The view during high noon was absolutely stunning.

Good place for a promenade in the evening or Morning’s. Particularly in the evening for the sunset as the name suggests, it’s a nice place for outing. There are tea stalls and drinks available on the spot. If you don’t want to walk you can take your car 🚗 or you can hire local rickshaws 🛺. It’s not far from the main tourist attraction’s of Kanyakumari. You will enjoy the ambiance and fresh weather there.

I had the privilege of visiting the Sunset View Point in Kanyakumari, and I must say, it was an awe-inspiring experience. As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a stunning canvas of vibrant hues. The view of the endless sea merging with the sky was nothing short of breathtaking. It's a place where you can feel the serenity of nature and witness a moment of beauty that words can hardly capture. The atmosphere was serene, making it a perfect spot for contemplation and soaking in the beauty of the world. If you're ever in Kanyakumari, the Sunset View Point is an absolute must-visit to witness nature's mesmerizing artistry.

Absolutely breath taking! You must come to the tip of India and watch the sunset! There’s something absolutely calming about this view. Even if you’re surrounded by 100+ people at a time, it truly is a beautiful experience 😍 HIGHLY recommend! 😍

Massive beach with great view of the Kanyakumari sunset. Lots of place to sit, and many tall rocks for better photo ops. Further down the road, is another stretch of land that protrudes further into the ocean allowing for even better angles.

Sunset point located in kanyakumari is about 1.5kms from the Kumari temple. The place has large parking place for cars. The place has good view of the sunset from here. Although it was rainy when we visited.

Nature at it's best. It will be great view if you have clear sky. And this place can accommodate heavy crowd also . We'll maintained. Parking will be little difficult if you're late. Once sunset is done leave place immediately as it be dark in few minutes.

Very beautiful view. Kanyakumari is the only place in India where you can see sunrise in sea and sunset in sea.

Although they call it a Sun Set Point, its exactly not the place where you can see the Sun Set. It depends on the time and month you visit. You have a lot of places like this here in Kanyakumari starting from the beach and goes up-to Madaikadu, Kolachal etc for Sun Set Views. Ideal place to spend time with family. Not much shops or eatables available. On the main road there are Tea shops and Toilets. Visit here earlier and leave by the same as this place don't have proper lighting and also lots of Transgender menace asking for money. Looks like Govt. is not caring of these places anymore. Not properly maintained, though i feel its the people who are responsible for that. If you love beach view and breezy air, this is the place you can spend time. You can walk all along the road till the end. (Make sure you do it before dark - Photos attached) Be double careful if visiting on Weekdays. Always stay in a group and never go alone to these places and even if you do so, start earlier and leave before dark. (Transgender menace). Little deep down the road, no shops and light also. Auto Service available from Kanyakumari main road (Tri-Veni Sangam Beach). Overall its an ideal place to spend time with family. Recommended Visiting Hours -: Evening 3.30 P.M to 6.00 P.M Since, No proper lighting its recommended to leave before dark

People who are visiting Kanyakumari , this place is a must visiting place. The sunset from Kanyakumari looks amazing. Its always better to plan for this visiting place while coming to Kanyakumari. You can reach here by walk or by auto. There you will find a lot of auto who will take you there from any point. I prefer walking besides Indian Ocean in the evening. The wind and the seashore scenery is really worth walking. It will refreshen your mood.

It was an amazing view of sunset at Kanyakumari. We were on an All India Cycle Ride. We reached Kanyakumari by morning, but we waited till sunset for the epic sunset view of India. The place was very crowded because of weekend.
