Great food experience. Must visit for all seafood lovers. Homely environment with enough seating space. They provide a variety of fish items. They serve meals and tapioca as main food. Curries and fish fries are very tasty and fresh. Must try for fish lovers 👍👍👍

Happened to visit this place in between a travel and obviously reviews made us curious and decided to pay a visit. It’s actually a home and not a restaurant setup little bit away from highway, however map take us exactly to the designation. In the first instance, it appeared like a marriage function is going there as it was that much crowded. We actually waited for half an hour to get seated and learned that during peak hours it’s used to be like that. Coming to the menu, wide variety of options available for the fish lovers and depends on days fishes will probably change. We can visit kitchen and order the items required which will be fried and served as and when required. Even though food looks delicious, serving is not structured near to self service model. Felt like some more cleanliness required to accommodate families. Madhu Chetan is a down to earth multitasking person by managing kitchen as well as dealing with customers. A little bit over rated based on reviews and if not expecting much based on the reviews end result will be satisfactory.

The food especially the fish was really good. But the space available for the crowd is very limited. Very limited parking also available. Try the fried items, the fish curries are all the same.

I had a wonderful experience at Madhu Seafood Restaurant, a cozy place located on a narrow road near Cherthala main road. I arrived at a busy time, but I was lucky enough to find a seat. The restaurant is situated in a spacious compound with trees, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The owner, Mr. Madhu, greeted all the guests personally with his charming presence. I appreciated his hospitality. The menu was full of tempting dishes, and I had a hard time choosing. With the help of my colleagues, I decided to have meals with kalanji curry, philopia fry, and neymeen curry. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and satisfying. The spices and fish complemented each other well. I commend the chefs for their excellent work. The rice was hot and flavorful. The side dishes included payar thoran, kondattam mulak, and a unique curry made with finely chopped mixed vegetables. It was a delightful meal that I enjoyed thoroughly. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood. Make sure to arrive early to enjoy all the specials, otherwise you might miss some of the delicious fish dishes. If you would like, you can also purchase soft drinks and ice cream.

It’s was the time while I was solo travelling in Kerala and I happened to halt in Cherthala for an hour & After searching for lunch spots in google, I ended up being here. This place is a family run kitchen & had some good energy going on. I reached here at The right time just before it started to get crowded during lunch hours. The quality of the food is top & one can find almost all kinds of sea food options here along with meals. The spices used and the meat was really good and just perfect. I am still drooling thinking of the food here. Would surely recommend this place.

I came here after a trip to Marari Beach. This small place seems to be a gem in Cherthala. Serves probably the freshest Kerala fish items that you can imagine. Their neymeen fry is just pure bliss! Same goes for prawns and karimeen.

Pros: friendly staff. They try their best to accommodate and very patient with all. Relaxing atmosphere. Food is OK. Cons: I don't understand what all the hype is about really. The food bloggers have inflated this place so much that the hype is unreal. Does it really the driving of 40 kms from ekm city? No. I mean thee are several places within the city that does similar. The variety of the meals like veg curries are very limited to have along with the rice. Granted it's a seafood place but atleast the sides shiuld be sufficient. I probably wouldn't go there again. Not because it's bad or anything. It's fine but not just worth driving almost an hour each direction for the taste and the experience. A one time experience would suffice. Good luck to the restaurant 👍

Went there during the weekend. The crowd was unbelievable. Food was good. The rice they serve is not my kind of rice. But most people might. The sambar, more curry, side dishes, and…Fish was good. It seem the fish was fresh, and the taste was good too. There seemed to be a lot of varieties. But it was too crowded. So, I didn’t wait to explore more. One Chechi there helped me find a seat and brought me food. It was real good customer service. Would like to explore more on a weekday.

Went there for lunch with friends we had ordered meals, kakka fry , paal kappa , mathi fry anf prawns fry , mathi fry was a disaster, it Dosen't cooked well , prawns fry and kakka was good , paal kappa was oky , and im really very disappointed with their service, we had ordered too many special items and when we asked them for some fish gravy the staff gave us some gravy in a very small bowl (pickle serving bowl) for 3 people , and we asked the staff again for the fish gravy but he didn't bring

Great sea food restaurant. Madhu, the owner is very friendly and helpful. Food is absolutely delicious. Only thing one need to keep in mind is that they use the same oil to fry different kinds of fish and shell fishes. So, beware if you are allergic to shell fishes and other crustaceans

The food is simple yet surprisingly tasty. The shallow fried fish is one of the best I’ve ever had! The host, madhu chettan is a real friendly dude. The place gets pretty crowded, but considering the taste of the fish they serve, it’s not a surprise at all! The road to the place is narrow and parking situation is a little tough, but none of those would stop you from coming back for the yummy fish!

The Madhu's sea food restaurant is an up-coming destination in its own respect. The sea food served is fresh, which is the main highlight of the place. All the food I had from this restaurant met a decent standard. However this is not someplace that I would recommend to go in as a family, especially with kids. First of all, it's really crowded at lunch time during the weekends. The seating facility is rudimentary except for the few tables in the new AC building. Moving on to the food, it's not as spicy as you'd imagine from the pictures, but the masala used is not to my liking. The default cooking is medium and if you want well-done, you need to specify. This for me is a deal breaker especially for sardines and anchovies. The staff are very friendly, however in most of the cases they are overwhelmed with the crowd. Overall, a good place to have a seafood lunch if you are not planning to take your family.

Finally cleared from the wishlist! It’s been atleast 2-3 years since I wanted to have food from here. I was told that restaurant will be fully packed and I was under the assumption it would be a small place which can serve hardly 50 people, but it’s more yet was full!! Except for the approach road, everything else could accommodate the rush! Food was spicy and yummy! We had podimeen, neymeen curry, kappa and prawns. Well trained team who knows the art of cross selling👏 It was a great experience altogether.

Nice seafood spot with a nice atmosphere, though service can be a bit inconsistent due to crowds. Lunch is normal like homemade, but the real treat is their array of fish dishes—prawns, kingfish, sardines, crab, and more. The masala is very much colored Just watch out for the excessive red color on the fish. Seafood enthusiasts must try the flavors here. Find it 300 meters off the highway with ample parking.

A hidden gem at cherthala town. Must try place for fish lowers. Food was excellent. Especially the kalaanji fry and prawn 🍤 fry. The fresh fish food🎣 is the specialty of this shop. My advice is to choose the dishes after discussing abt the price. 🫤🫤🫤. The portion they are serving is bigger. Same the cost. Price is lil high. 🫡🫡🫡. 400/- kalaanji fry 🐟 300/- prawn 🍤. 60/- oonu. (One pickle, olathu, sambaar, mooru) Price is a factor. A homely ambiance. The marination is same for Almost all the fry dishes. 🥹🥹🥹. But that has a unique taste. Recommended. I can suggest a good spot other than this is VAASU CHETANTE KADA (chaalakudy). 😋😋😋😋. 1st in my list. 🙂🙂🙂

There were the dishes that I tried. Pearl spot fish and Prawns. Even though the batter was tasty and spicy enough, it has not reached the fish up to my expectation. Kalangi fish curry is the most demanding one and is the signature item of the place. However, this place is a good choice to explore a wide variety of seafood. Yet another attraction is the open kitchen, there is an opportunity to choose a variety of fish instead of ordering from the menu. The staff is cooperative and service-oriented. The place is crowded at times, but there are parking facilities. With the help of Google Maps, it is easy to find the place.

Overall an average experience. We were a group of 6 and went there around 2:45 PM on a sunday. Even though most of the fish items were available, meals and Kappa were finished by that time. After waiting for around 30 mins, we finally got rice but the side dishes of the meals were over. The service was not that good. May be it was a busy day and they couldn't handle it. We tried prawns fry, podimeen fry, chala fry, kalanji fry and neymeen curry. Prawns and podimeen were my personal favourites. All the fish were fresh. But taste wise, I have had better. Is it worth the hype ? No. Is the food bad ? Definitely not. Will I visit again ? May be.

Amazing place.. homely atmosphere, very welcoming staff, the chef himself serves the food, fish is really fresh, you can feel it in the very first bite.. really good masala, fish done to perfection..prawns will be my all time favourite.. if you want fish egg fry, do call up and reserve in the morning itself.. the place is at madhuchettans house itself, so parking will be a small hassle on a busy day..

Oh what can I say, Madhuchettan is cherthalakarude swantham ahankaram aanu. Food, hospitality top notch. Very affable customer service, they take cash, card as well as paytm/gpay. We ordered Kalanji, Neymeen, Mathi and Prawns fry. Prawns masala is alone enough to eat the rice. Kalanji is a must try fish. Soft flesh and just the right frying gone into it. I was surprised to see even Mathi pan fried. Neymeen is also equally good. They gave us fish gravy to go with the Paal Kappa. Ample space to park, just get there by 12:30pm.

“YUM” ❤️😍is all that comes to mind while posting this. I’ve had such a wonderful dine in experience at Madhoos. ❤️😍The huge crowd at the restaurant during the lunch hours describes the quality of food served. I loved each and everything which We’ve ordered and the prawns🦐 fry won my heart. You can finish the food with the “MORU CURRY” alone!!!🤤So if you are someone who wishes to have a tasty fresh seafood of alleppey, Madhoos is the right place. I swear you are not going to be disappointed.

Oh boy! finding the place felt like a winding maze! The road was so narrow, but at the end to reach an open space with cars parked all around. There was Madhuchettan himself, ready to welcome us. It doesn't have that usual restaurant vibe, more like a busy home-side shack. You've got to play a quick game of musical chairs to snag a seat and place your order. The service there is lightning fast - no waiting around. I ordered paal kappa, thala curry, natholi fry, prawns roast, karimeen polichathe and something else . Oh my goodness, the flavors were absolutely mind-blowing and you will definitely lick your fingers at the end. I can still taste it on my tongue! Madhuchetan is super friendly, making you feel like you've just stepped into a cousin's house, except you still have to settle the bill. 😉

I recently went to this place...such a overrated place it is...we bought, kalanji & prawns fry, kalanji curry...nothing was good...loaded with kashmiri chilli powder and that's it...pls believe all the YouTube reviews and go here...you will be disappointed as us...

This place is 🤌🤌🤌🤌. Things I like about this place. - Amazing food. It's basically self-service. Go get your food from the kitchen. No ordering system or anything. Madhuettan just trust his customers and the people are returning the love. Place is always busy during the lunch hours and the prawns fry is just from out of this world. - He treats everyone equally. Saw some celebs come in during my visit. No special treaent whatsoever. Wait for a table, grab your food, tell what you had at the kitchen, pay for the meal. - They did not put in much efforts to create a high end ambiance and that serves as the best ambiance ever. It's a house, and you are eating home made food sitting in the courtyard. Simple. - Host, Madhuettan was so accommodating that he allowed us to set a table in his porch so that we could keep our puppies next to us. He was mindful to not make other guests uncomfortable. Things I don't like. - They don't serve 24x7. - It is tough to get a table here because the food is too good.

Fresh and tasty food in a homely atmosphere. Little bit crowded.Despite the slight crowding, it is expected as the best restaurants are always in high demand and attract a large number of guests. Here's a corrected version of your sentence with a suggestion for improvement: One suggestion to the management is that the staff service needs to be a little more organized

If You are a seafood lover this is one of the best spot especially for fried items. They serve with an average meal with unlimited quantity but the add on fish verities like prawns fry, kingfish fry, kozhuva fry ( which we tried and also I recommend to try )were outstanding. Fish was very fresh and tender that we can feel when we eat.Prices are justifiable for the quality and quantity served.

All food excellent with flavor of fresh coconut oil and pepper. Really Spicy food but great taste. Shallow fried prawns and fish egg dry fry must try. Enough parking space. Owner is humble and ready to hear all your requests. But Requires better ambience. Good place for seafood lovers, varieties of seafood available, but selection of dishes limited.
