The booking done was cancelled at the last moment by telling us that the support staff got covid. If that was genuine, then we can understand. But they just wanted to cancel our booking to accommodate some other booking. While I can’t comment about how beautiful or VFM, this property is. I can tell one thing. Please don’t trust this people if you are booking online. We booked the property in the beginning of December for the New Year’s Eve and made all our travel plans based on this booking. On 29th December, We got a call from the manager of Ameya property saying that Kerala health department has asked them to shut the property since three of their in house staff got covid. We didn’t have an option since that seemed to be a genuine reason. We searched a lot to find another available resort and as luck would have it, another property (vismaya-review will be written for this) got their booking cancelled since people from Delhi couldn’t travel. So they accepted ours. Vismaya is right opposite to Ameya across the lake and hence from there, Ameya was visible to us. After reaching the resort, we realized that Ameya is not shut and there are guests there. When we tried to reach the manager over phone, he again lied saying they got other staff and hence reopened. When we asked more, he just cut our call. Bottom line. Bookings with Ameya can’t be trusted and hence if you are making bookings from far away places, just keep this in mind. I would never suggest this place for anyone.

Amazing Amazing Amazing - you will be mesmerized with what you see right from the moment you enter the property. Getting there could be a task because the roads are really small , nevertheless you can trust Google maps to take you to the right location. The manager would guide you at every point and he is always just a call away , do call them directly for the best rates rather than booking through other apps. The property is more of a boutique homestay than a resort, very pique and contained with attention given to every detail so that you won't be bored even for a minute. The resort opens up to a beautiful portion of the Vembanad Lake , they have lucious lawns , open bathrooms which are safe and private , the property is solar run and focuses on recycling and sustainable energy, It is lavish too , the property, stay and food are costly but worth it , they just have 3-4 villas and their Shanti villa is the best, a family of 4 could easily stay in one. Meals are all home cooked and made to order and all made with the local produce , rest assured you will get continental, chinese , and Indian cuisines there. You cannot bring in outside food so make sure that you don't order too much, I'm talking from personal experience - the food bill could shock you 😅 That being the only negative thing to say , the staff are really courteous and friendly, food is mostly served at the private balcony you have with each villa or you could walk to the main building and eat from there. Last but not the least me and my family had an awesome and a memorable stay at Ameya.

We have had a delightful visit at Ameya. It is a small boutique hotel in a quiet spot next to the lake. It is peaceful (except for the crows by the pool) and harmonious. Each guests have their own cottage. The rooms are huge and you'll have a private veranda with fantastic views. The staff can organise a delicious dinner for you on the veranda that I highly recommend.

This is the most beautiful place we have ever been to. From Service to Food everything was perfect. The place is very special because every cottage contains old Indian and European art pieces and every day you will get fresh flowers from the garden. The whole property is eco-friendly, they also grow their own fruits and veggies and in the morning you will get fresh duck eggs. The only bad thing about this place is leaving it!

Beautiful place with very cute bungalows, a fresh water pool and a beautiful view of the lake. The food is excellent and prepared on site and there is the possibility of having a massage in a spa in the garden. The manager Anish has been very welcoming and very helpful. We even did a boat tour on the lake with a bottle of wine, cashews and fresh prawns. I highly recommend it!

Superb experience - probably the most tranquil and serene getaway for us. The staff were well trained and professional. They only have a few luxury cottages which makes it exclusive. The endless lake views are amazing facing a quiet side of the backwaters. This is a quaint experience amid nature with a very personal touch from the caretakers - so if you're expecting a five star hotel experience with bellboys then this is not the place for it. Improvement area- continental cuisine can be improved (their Kerala food is exquisite.) Overall this was a one of a kind experience for me and my family. Highly recommended.

Best backwater resort you can get in terms of hospitality, the vibe, the view and especially the food. Appreciate the chef very much for arranging all the traditional and multi cuisine foods on request.😊

Unprofessional and unethical conduct. Had an advance booking on the new years eve with friends. Ameya cancelled the same at the last moment claiming its shut during covid. However, we later found out that this was not so and they had other guests and were taking new bookings for subsequent days as well( we checked ourselves). Dont depend your bookings with them. Would have marked zero star if possible.

The property is a tranquil oasis, authentic and delightful. The architecture and design are true to the region and the vibe, it’s clear that every detail has been carefully thought of. The limited number of cottages for guests means we have a truly personalised and exclusive experience. The personnel are professional and kind, rendering high quality service with genuine sincerity and warmth in caring for their guests. Our delicious and hearty meals were prepared to order everyday by wonderful kitchen staff who are residents of the nearby village. We especially enjoyed the enriching discussions with the property manager and were grateful to the staff for their help in organising various activities.

Had an amazing stay! Probably the best boutique property on the backwaters. With just 4 accommodation units spread apart, lovely pool and a wide waterfront it's a great option to get away from the crowds. The rooms are very spacious, tastefully done in boutique style and has high quality guest amenities. The service and food served are also exceptional. Fully recommend for anyone looking for a quiet getaway and recharging your body and mind!

Ameya was the highlight of our trip to Kerala. The tranquility of this home stay on the lake is very appealing so much so we cancelled a day trip to spend more time relaxing near the pool. Out stay was made perfect by the amazing and attentive staff that looked after us.. Thoroughly recommended

Ameya is an idyllic place located on the banks of backwaters. It is a relatively small but beautiful property consisting of only 4 cottages. We stayed at Lake view cottages Shanti and Ananda. Both cottages had spacious rooms and outdoor balcony. The balcony offered picturesque views of backwaters and canals. Only minor drawback of the cottage was the toilet did not have jet attached. Food was delicious but limited options were available since it is more of a homestay than a resort. Staff was helpful. Overall we had an amazing stay !

Me and my husband recently had a very beautiful and memorable stay at ameya. The resort is very well maintained and the staff was really polite and helpful. The view from the cottage is magnificent and gives a calmness to our mind and body. The food was good and the room and bathroom were neat and clean. We had a romantic candle light dinner at the space on top of the lake and the ambience was so wonderful.Thank you so much Ameya and Sinna Sir for arranging a wonderful stay.

Myself, along with my husband had stayed at Ameya last weekend i.e. in the first week of October’22. Honestly, we were expecting just a usual accommodation for our vacation. But, we were pleasantly surprised with Ameya as a whole…..! The location being so serene and peaceful just by the backwater lake, the property being so green and well-maintained, the staff being so humble and caring, the simple local cuisine being delicious! On top of it the decor is praiseworthy displaying a very good taste behind the interior designing done so carefully! The manager Anish was extremely cooperative and he organised for our pick and drop, also arranged a boat trip for us, and a specially requested Kerala style body massage for me which has relaxed me thoroughly! This has been one of our favourite stays and we are looking forward to revisit Ameya in future!

Quite far away from the crowded place and the view is stunning. Ambience is awesome and the rooms are designed in a aestheitic manner. Best place for vacation

Beautifully maintained property nestled in a quaint corner of a lake. My wife and I booked the endless view suite and the room was spacious with an open shower, and a large patio with a view of the lake. I would say the decor is pretty exquisite and beautiful. The staff is very polite, honest and helpful, especially the manager, Anish. We never had a lock in our hotel room door. The food they cook is clean, delicious, healthy, and hygienic. Like home cooked meals. Combined with the desire to be very sustainable, and in my opinion shortage of qualified staff, they fall short in the service component as per other similar resorts (or B&Bs) in this part of the world. Requests are pretty slow to fulfill, sometimes not on time and have to be repeated multiple for instances. Another thing to note for guests without cars, Tuk Tuks over here, charge you for both ways know no matter where you go. So what should’ve been a cheap, bumpy Tuk Tuk ride is more expensive than deluxe Uber rides in other parts of India. All in all, with a few hiccups, we did enjoy our stay here in Cherthala Kerala at Ameya hotel.

I booked stay at this wonderful resort on Alleppy backwater, totally based on its reviews and pictures. I was totally astonished with their beautiful garden, architecture, and wonderful view from rooms. Only downside is mosquito and lizards in the room.

Love love love the place. The french couple has really put their heart and soul in making it. It is more like a homestay than a resort. The staff have also managed to keep the property well. I wish to come here more often as I feel very very connected. It is highly recommended. Not much known by people though but it is one place to visit when you come to kerala

Really nice little resort with huge cozy cottages! The patio is lovely and overlooks the backwaters. It's really nice and peaceful in the morning. The staff is really nice and helpful. A bit on the expensive side. Being a new resort it doesn't get too much crowd so it can be a bit lonely but otherwise it's a nice place to stay in.
