Information instead of the old airport! Anyone interested in Lanzarote and flying should definitely take a look at the small museum. With free entry, you will learn, among other things, that the Concorde and the jumbo jet B747 have already landed here. There are a lot of interesting exhibits on display here!

If you are interested what the beginnings of commercial aviation looked and felt like - not just in Lanzarote - this is your place. This museum is located in the old Arrecife airport building and provides a true, immersive experience of check-in procedures, boarding lounges and an airport tower room at a time when air travel was a very special experience and airports had the shape of cosy living rooms. Artworks included. The exhibition is a wonderful way to understand how aviation made it to the canaries. Highly recommended - not just for aviation enthusiasts. The staff was super friendly and courteous, too. The museum reopened in January 2022. At the time of my visit Google was not up to date yet about their re-opening. Enjoy the aviation time warp.

One of those little gems you accidentally find whilst driving by. The photo shows the airport as it would have been in the 1950's, the only thing missing is the landing strip. So this is what an international airport used to look like. Then if you turn around you'll see how the airport looks today. The exhibits in the museum fill in the gaps. There are some very insightful displays including the pathway of passengers and luggage through an airport and a timeline showing the aircraft that used the airport over the years and how passenger carrying capacity increased. Overall a nice way to spend an hour or so and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The museum is clean and well maintained and is obviously cared for.

A must see for any aviation enthusiast. A museum housed in the orginal terminal building of Lanzarote Airport. Receptionist gave us a nice detailed tour as we were the only people in at the time. Easy to find, just follow signs for the current airport. It's completely free too.

The guide was very, very friendly and competent. She was able to answer all questions from and around the airport and also had a lot of information about the airlines, aircraft, etc. I can highly recommend this museum if you want to learn about the history of the airport. So again: very highly recommended!!!

What a fantastic place. Don't be fooled by what looks like a small building - there is so much to see. Maria, who was in charge on the day we visited, was very helpful and friendly. It was a pleasure to meet her and share her enthusiasm for the museum.

(Translated by Google) A pity that you do not know the importance of this aerodrome in the takeoff of the Island. This site (and the person who takes it, Teresa) should be a Museum of Recent History of Lanzarote. (of pity the signage of the museum from the highway, and even more of the entrance, where it leads to confusion an old sign that says "prohibited the passage to personnel other people's to AENA" (Original) Una pena que no se le de la importancia que tuvo este aerodromo en el despegue de la Isla.

Arrived too early for returning hire car so popped into the museum for a short visit. It’s a small museum housed in the former terminal building, lovely art deco features. Free entry and lots of interesinteresting exhibits, only downside was that there aren’t any multilingual signs. I didn’t have much time but it would have been good to have read and understood more. Really worth visiting though and it’s easy to find too!

It is a small but very impressive museum. The building is Lanzarote's first airport and the story of it is told. It was built very lovingly and with a lot of effort. Maria was on duty there and gave us a lot of information.

Free small museum, with attention to detail. If you're lucky, the person at the counter will give you a private tour. It's unbelievable how small airports used to be...

It's worth the visit! My son was fascinated by the old equipment and how the airport has influenced the changes on the island in the last 60 years. Fun and interesting, kids will like it too if they are into machines, technology or transport!

The museum is full of interesting pieces with the great value of history related to the facility, the aviation origins and it's legacy in the island. Objection and to be improved; The Piper sat outside for exhivition needs a decent and better care-maintenance as well as the rest of the service vehicles is the stunt.

A charming little museum, much better than I was expecting. We stopped off as a way to kill time before dropping off our rental car and flying home. It used to be the original terminal building and control tower and the history of flight in the Canaries was a good story.

(Translated by Google) Aeronautical museum of the island of Lanzarote, is located in the old terminal, and presents some very presentable units, which collects the historical reference of aviation and the dawn of tourism, with a full Cesar Manrique, along with José Ramírez Cerdad, president of the Cabildo and main collaborator of the international artist, as well as other characters of the time. Little-known facilities, despite their extraordinary value. Recommendable. Instalaciones poco conocidas, pese a su extraordinario valor. Recomendable.

A really great museum about the aviation history of Lanzarote. Particularly worthy of mention is the on-site staff, who answered all questions very friendly and competently. You also get a guide in German who translates all the Spanish text panels. Many interesting exhibits and impressive pictures about the history of the airport. Anyone interested in aviation will get their money's worth here. Especially since entry is free. It is open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parking is possible free of charge directly in front of the old terminal building that houses the museum.
