All boutique 4 room property with lovely views and lots of nature to soak in to It’s a absolutely do nothing n sit n read n watch place . Very laid back that you will find time get still The staff were very friendly and courteous. Rooms were very clean and cozy. They allow well behaved small pets which was great. The food was basic and simple Overall a great experience visiting kayal

Kayal is a magical place. From boating under the moon to watching the backwaters from their sunbeds to food prepared in a homely Kerala kitchen, full of flavours, served like a luxury property with honesty and genuine intention to feed you! 2 nights should be good to experience the little to the great experiences they offer, one more night could be leisure. Location-wise, it is a separate island, only retreat there, so be ready to only chill at one place, which worked for us! Set in an amazing location in the lap of nature, kayal has been built with a lot of heart. The interiors are subtle yet rich. One never gets tired of the lake view at various times of the day and night. The amazing staff and delicious local food makes up for a wholesome, relaxing experience.

We visited the place in 2019 with a bunch of friends. The hostess was very hospitable and was with us the entire time. She arranged a boat ride and a we also had a lovely young girl sing for us during the ride. The place has the best sunset view. The area is very calm and peaceful. On returning from our boat ride we were presented with tea time snacks. We had a wondeful experience.

Tranquil and serene water front resort. Being a small resort with only 4 cottages, it is extremely safe during Covid times without overcrowding. This is my first hotel/resort stay since Lockdown and I stayed for 7 days. Extremely friendly staff. Awesome Kerala food. Overall an amazing experience.

Amazing getaway so close to big city Cochin. Its a quiet tranquil setting, picturesque landscape and amazing staff ... Loved it. Food was awesome, village walk and cooking classes were a totally unique experience. Keep it up Maneesha and Team Kayal.

Perfect getaway from the bustle of city life, with luxury comforts (an amazing bed, awesome outdoor shower, spacious rooms that are tastefully decorated and delicious healthy fresh meals). The natural beauty of this place needs to be experienced and cannot be described! Highly recommend!

As the name suggests it's on an island. They have a ferry boat for visitors for pickup and drop. The rooms are beautiful and clean. They have a restaurant near the back water and also provide ayurvedic massage. The theme of the rooms are different from other resorts. The view is just amazing. The owner was also very friendly and helpful.

If you're looking for that little slice of heaven just off the beaten track then look no further. The aesthetic at Kayal is a mixture of Island vibe coupled with what I would classify as rustic chic with a generous pinch of exotic flair; it's hard to pin the feeling down but it's as if you've stepped into the pages of a travel magazine, but the design is done so well that it feels like the place isn't even trying to impress. And it's not just the look of the place alone that should draw you because the staff is not only friendly, but also attentive and the food is a veritable work of art--generous portions coupled with a wide assortment of curries and local fare are all presented in an array of color that leaves you struggling to decide which to reach for first: your camera or your fork. I don't know why anyone would settle for a houseboat when they could sit lazily in one of the waterfront chairs watching the sunlight dance off the backwater.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! It’s a gorgeous location off the water and was the perfect place to relax with friends.

Very nice place, the food is delicious and home made. here you can find calm. The room are beautiful in the Bali style with the exterior bathroom. We stay one night but we regret to not spend two.

Just came back after a 4 night stay. There are certain expectations from a Kerala Backwaters resort experience - I.E peaceful surroundings, calmness of the lagoon, traditionally appointed rooms, wonderfully cooked local food, fresh seafood variety, happy service people , clean & hygenic, rejuvenating ayurvedic massages, blissful boat rides, a taste of fresh toddy directly from the tree....Well, Kayal Island Resort has it ALL! It is truly an amazing, authentic, refreshing Backwaters island experience! My spouse & I were truly pampered with some FRESH. AUTHENTIC. YUMMILICIOUS Kerala cuisine along with some extremely friendly service by some happy people. The Manager - Saiju is a hands-on all-in-one Leader who does NOT have "NO" in his vocabulary! His only objective is to ensure that the guests depart happily & over satisfied. He is a true asset to the resort and his can-do attitude was truly heart warming. We had the ayurvedic massage every day during our stay and the masseurs were very efficient, knowledgeable and excellent with their massages. Overall, a MUST GO-TO resort for an authentic Kerala, backwaters resort experience! No news no shoes JUST BLISS!

Staying at Kayal was the most beautiful experience. Everything about this place was just amazing. I came across this place by chance on Google maps while looking for places to stay. What I loved the most here was the privacy, tranquility and the beautiful view. The setup was so simple but felt so luxurious. Would also like to appreciate all the staffs at Kayal for the hospitality. One of a kind experience, must visit.
