I've photographed about a dozen weddings and elopements at Sunrise Amphitheater, and it remains one of my favorite wedding venues in the Boulder area. A couple of pro tips for anyone interested in booking it: 1) Spend the $100-400 extra on reserving two back-to-back time slots, so you don't have to worry about rushing in and out of there, having a wedding before yours run late and go into your time slot, or having a wedding show up to start setting up before your time is over. 2) Morning ceremonies by far have the best light here. Anything after 3-4 pm gets spotty, shadow-heavy light when the sun starts dipping behind the trees above the amphitheater, and make your photographer's job much harder. 3) Rent shuttles or a party bus if your guests are coming from out of state. Driving up Flagstaff can be intimidating for people who don't live in the mountains. 4) Know that there's always a chance you'll have some random tourists/hikers/visitors stop to watch your wedding from the top of the amphitheater, even if it's clearly reserved. People are nosy. Hope that helps! It's BEAUTIFUL—you can't go wrong getting married here.

First of all, just getting to the amphitheater is an experience unto itself. The road is an incredibly scenic winding road up the mountain. When we were here (early November) the last leg of the road was closed, so we hiked about 15 minutes up the mountain. Again, incredibly scenic. They even have a little open air cabin with two fireplaces that looks straight out of Lord of the Rings. On the way up we ran across about a 8 point buck who had absolutely no fear of us whatsoever. The amphitheater itself is incredibly cool, with an incredible view of both Boulder and Denver. Worth the hike, worth the drive, and worth a thousand pictures. A must visit!

If you are thinking of reserving the Sunrise Amphitheater for a wedding, scroll all the way down from this review for a "heads-up". I attended a wedding here and it was such a BEAUTIFUL venue!! There were only about 25 people at the wedding which made it nice and intimate. The amphitheater is a perfect place for small wedding events. Although it rained a little in the beginning, the beauty of Colorado is that the rain lasts for 10 minutes then the sun comes back out. Personally, the quick weather adjustments added more charm to the wedding. 💍 My two fantastic friends had the perfect wedding and chose the perfect spot! Also I highly recommend coming here to simply sink in the view! Pro-tip: OK so... My friends rented this spot for their wedding. About 15 minutes beforehand, a group of 5-10 people showed up and went down to the amphitheater. Apparently they snuck in a quick wedding! Very very bold of them. Clearly they didn't rent the spot so just wanted to conduct a "quickie". Keep that in mind if you are planning to rent Sunrise. Fortunately the group left before my friend's wedding commenced. We were going to kick them out regardless.

Was off in the park very near this spot. The views are incredible. Was due east up in the mountains off flagstaff, couple of spots seen here can be driven to for anyone who is not able to hike but enjoys great views.

Beautiful place for a wedding...when it's not smokey! It is over 6800 feet up very narrow, winding roads. The view even when smokey is spectacular!

If you’re wondering whether or not to get married here… do it. We reserved the amphitheater for 3 hours on a Saturday and had no problems with hikers/sightseers. It was a July evening and the weather was absolutely perfect. We paid an additional fee for our guests to be able to enjoy adult beverages, this fee is only $30 if I remember correctly. Totally affordable! The views are incredible! Another plus, the amphitheater speaks for itself (absolutely incredible views) so you don’t have to decorate if you don’t want to! Absolutely fantastic option for a wedding venue. We rented the amphitheater for three hours on a Sunday morning and had an intimate elopement ceremony. Can’t imagine a better place and it was so incredibly affordable. It could absolutely support a much larger wedding if you planned ahead and had some speakers so people could hear sitting up in the stone seats.

If your looking for a great spot for a sunrise drive or hike, this is the spot. Flagstaff rd has amazing views of Boulder and to the west amazing views of the rocky tops. If your hiking here during winter remember spikes. And if your lucky, you'll find recliner made you rock to view it all.

I frequently ride my MTB bike up Chapman road from Canyon road, and will often stop by this place for the outstanding views while refueling. Great hiking trails in the area too. Hard to beat the views this close to town.

All I can say is WOW! If you have never been, you should go. It was absolutely breathtaking. I went for a morning wedding but you can hike, bike or walk here from the very cheap cost parking spaces. Maybe a lunch. There is a very decent port-a-john. Seems kept up nicely. Just a joy to visit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

A wonderful place to enjoy a nice wedding. A few things to know before you visit. If its is an early wedding (morning) bring sunglasses or a hat with a brim, as the sun is brutal. You have to pay to park anywhere on the mountain and by midday the mountain is an anthill of cyclist's and hikers.

👍 Dog parks like this are why I gave the last Park 2 Stars, because it's less than 10 miles from this place, and how bad would you have to dislike your dog not to be willing to drive a few miles to let them run on grass instead of gravel? This park has a very nice path that goes all the way around the...
