8/22 Update: Good news still my favorite! Went Sunday and shared this food with a friend, so now I can review the meat - high quality and so delicious my friend loved the food and is hooked now too! I go often, yet saw this review was over a year ago and wanted to share the consistency update. Still delicious, still clean, still super friendly. And let me add this, you can meet up with others at this Market place and if they are taste damaged and want to try another shop there is a lot of variety, yet i will say Konjo's Fries are even superior! Clean and safe tables and area for eating, they are wiped by staff routinely. Wow The food is so delicious! I love love LOVE the lentils, and usually get an extra order of KIK, tasty yellow lentils for the next day. Miser is spicy, in a great way, and the Gomen Dinich satisfies your required healthy greens quota! The food is always fresh to order, and maybe I should not say this... just slightly too much! I am ALWAYS super full in the best way possible. The staff is genuinely friendly, and they make you feel welcome and help explain any questions. Do not feel shy or intimidated to try something new. The location is super clean and there are guides for social distancing and a barrier when paying.

I've been craving good Ethiopian food since visiting the country and trying their local food. One day I was at Edgewater Public Market and noticed Konjo so I decided to give the Ethiopian restaurant a shot. I asked the staff for recommendations and they were super helpful (and awesome to chat with)! The food was done quickly and tasted amazing. Fresh ingredients, great tasting food and great service from a family owned business. What else can you ask for? If you don't know where Ethiopia is, you can see it in my globe picture :)

I paid $20.51 for what you see in the picture. Authentic flavors and the food does taste great. Unfortunately the injera was old and hard. A big mistake with Ethiopian food because injera is so important with every meal. I asked the guy behind the counter for some awaze, an Ethiopian sauce, and he gave me something that looked like hot sauce. It did have an Ethiopian flavor but was definitely not awaze. Upon reconsidering and changing my review a little, I will venture back to this place. Even though I think it is a little expensive the food does taste amazing and the flavors and spices are truly authentic. Having eaten in the capital of Ethiopia myself, Addis Ababa, the food here is truly good!

Wish they had a second location further north! The food does seem over salted often times, but it's flavorful and the meat especially is of good quality. I go out of my way to visit this friendly restaurant.

Konjo served me my food so fast! I ordered the chicken tibs with lentils - it was very savory and spicy. The injera was really good and not as sour as I’ve had at other Ethiopian places. I was really pleased with konjo, I only wish they served one more injera roll with the meal. Two are definitely not enough which is a good and bad thing, as they serve a good amount of the entree and side.

This is actually my first time trying Ethiopian food and I enjoyed it. I chose the veggie option with the red lentils, curried cabbage, and spinach potatoes. I liked them all but the spinach was my favorite. They come with the softest, special textured bread that you can use to wrap your veggies in. It was a sizable dish and I actually have enough leftovers for tomorrow’s lunch. The person at the counter was helpful, providing me with usable information. The entire Edgewater food court concept is nice and entertaining and parking was easy to find.

Veggie Delight was solid, although not the best Ethiopian food I've had. It's a great bang for your buck though and a really nice plant-based option if you're hungry! I have a big appetite and this dish alone could easily fill me up, and then some.

I got the veggie meal and it was so delicious! They gave me a ton of yummy food. The woman running it was so kind and seemed very excited about the food she was serving. I would not hesitate to come back because of the fabulous owner, large portions, and amazing food!

The food is great but the portion sizes are inconsistent and sometimes it’s pretty bland. I think I’ve been 5 times and twice and it was under seasoned and I always get the veggie platter. The fries are amazing 💯 but unfortunately my food today is just okay.

At first glance I was a bit skeptical of this place considering all the Ethiopian restaurants I had been to would have their own dining area decor etc. The lady at the register created a vegetarian and meat platter for me just how I wanted it and asked for my number so she could text me. By the time I went to the restroom to wash my hands the food was ready and looked amazing. Huge portions and everything on the platter was exceptionally good! I cannot recommend this place enough!

I just moved to Denver from D.C. This is the first Ethiopian restaurant I’ve tried. I didn’t look it up beforehand so I didn’t realize it was going to be quick serve / fast food style. I was pretty disappointed. I ordered sambusas and the vegetarian entree. All the food had been precooked and reheated. It tasted like it was 2 or 3 days old reheated food. It was also lacking in flavor. I am used to eating all of the fresh, homemade, incredibly flavorful Ethiopian food in D.C. so this was…different. Probably won’t be back. Going to check out some more traditional restaurants in the area.

This was my first experience with Ethiopian food. It was very fresh and full of flavor. I would definitely eat here again!

Tasty Ethiopian cuisine at the edge water public market. I had the vegetarian dish. The yellow split peas were my favorite. I would also opt for the carrots and cabbage over the spinach and potatoes next the. They provide a good amount of the bread, which tastes a bit like sourdough to me, not my thing. The small salad was refreshing and tasty and the fried appetizer was very good. The hot sauce added a bit of spice, but wasn’t hot. Great service. Enjoy!

Delicious but spicy. I didn't know what to expect. We had lamb, beef and chicken. All dishes were very good but pretty spicy. We had to get ice cream after dinner! The public market was a pretty cool space. Will have to come back and try more restaurants!

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was so good! I got both the chicken platter and a veggie platter. Each item was full of delicious flavor. I would love to visit the restaurant sometime soon.

Edit- I’ve gotten food here several times and I am in love. Seriously in love. Changed rating from 4 to 5 stars. Really good food! I got the vegetarian/vegan plate and it was very delicious. I recommend the miser and kik add ons. The plate was not spicy at all, maybe you can ask for spice? I didn’t think to. Definitely try this place out.

I ordered Konjo for delivery for the first time, and enjoyed it so much I will definitely be back! I ordered a vegetarian assortment. The flavors were complex and comforting, and each dish had its own character of texture and spices, so it was just as fun to eat with the injera as it was tasty! Plus, the portion was generous! Thanks, Konjo! I am so glad we have great Ethiopian food in the neighborhood!

  • 5/5 Armand D. 2 years ago on Google
Food was excellent, exactly what I was craving. The restaurant is located as part of a bigger food court with lots of different options for coffee and dessert, and lots of outdoor seating. This is just my first stop in exploring all the different Ethiopian restaurants around Denver, but I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Ethiopian food is my favorite, but I don't get to eat it very often. So,, I was delighted and excited to stumble upon this place. It did not disappoint - absolutely delicious and spice level was perfect! The gentleman working there was so nice and very kind. It's a good thing I live so far away b/c I'd be spending all my money here otherwise!

Love this restaurant! As a vegetarian, it's so nice to be able to order and not do a bunch of fancy footwork to explain all of the alterations needed. The veggie combo is just perfection! Highly recommend!

I’ve been wanting to try @konjoethiopianfood at @edgewaterpublicmkt for some time now. It was very good. I had the lamb tibs and a sambusa. The injera was nicely sour and complemented everything well.

Bringing culture to the denver metro area! My husband and I tried their breakfast burrito and were extremely impressed. Due to poor planning, I couldn’t eat the burrito hot and had it about 7 hours later after not refrigerating it, but the flavor was still immaculate and the burrito held up. If you eat here, DONT SLEEP ON THE HOT SAUCE. Such an interesting flavor! And not too spicy, which was good for unseasoned white folk like myself. Thank you so much for a new food adventure!

My recent dining experience surpassed all expectations, leaving me in awe of both the delectable cuisine and the exceptional customer service. The moment I stepped up to the counter, I was greeted by warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout my visit. Their attentiveness and willingness to cater to dietary preferences made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. The menu offered a tantalizing selection of traditional Ethiopian dishes, and each dish I tried was a masterpiece in its own right. The flavors were robust, vibrant, and truly authentic, reflecting the rich culinary heritage of Ethiopia. What truly sets them apart was their commitment to quality and presentation. Each dish was beautifully arranged, showcasing the artistry and attention to detail that went into its preparation. The restaurant's dedication to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients was evident in the vibrant colors and delightful aromas that permeated the air. A hidden gem that deserves recognition for its outstanding food and exceptional customer service. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience that will transport your taste buds to Ethiopia, look no further. Prepare to be delighted, captivated, and thoroughly satisfied at this remarkable establishment.

I’ve been meaning to try this spot for quite some time. Once a month my husband and I are at the Edgewater market for a community event and today was the day to finally try out this delicious food! I got the vegetarian breakfast plate, it was extremely flavorful and fresh. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the side was very tomato forward in the best way. I’ll definitely be getting the burrito next time, highly recommend for a light but filling brunch meal.

Such delicious, complex, and savory flavors. If you haven't tried it or are on the fence, do yourself a favor and get one of the combo plates and experiment with some great food

Don't like leaving low reviews and would prefer to give the opportunity to make it right but just can't drive that far again. Seems consistency is an issue or they're ok giving half cooked lentils to people they think won't know the wiser idk... They were VERY fast and spinach is decent though everything else is crunchy and sad. I would save your 50$ as it is. Response to owner: do the yellow lentils in the attached photo look like how you intend to serve all of your dishes/look correct? If you're not sure how they could be undercooked you may have some inconsistencies to figure out. They don't look like many of the other photos.

Konjo never fails to disappoint. We need more cultured food in America and this is it. The bowl on the right is the entire vegan menu. Sambusa on the left, not sure if that is vegan, you may want to ask. Ask for extra Injera as you have more chances to wrap your food. And if you are vegan order the combo and suggest all 4 items, as you have a choice of three, but the four makes it a lot more worthwhile.

I freaking love that this place is in such an accessible location so more people can give Ethiopian cuisine a try. I work nearby and Konjo is honestly everything I want and need in a lunch spot: quick, delicious, healthy, affordable, and filling. My only recommendation other than trying everything on the menu is to go ahead and get some more injera when you order cause you’ll absolutely need it!

I was on vacation in Colorado last month and had the pleasure of eating at Konjo Ethiopian Food! Let me start off by saying I eat Ethiopian food a lot, and have been fortunate to have some of the best Ethiopian dishes over the years. Konjo Ethiopian Food definitely adheres to my standards! I will go back every time I visit Colorado from now on. I also love the positivity of the team! Keep up the great work and blessings! :)

We had the BEST meal there tonight - sooooo delicious, and everything was obviously super-fresh. Awesome, friendly folks made it an all-around superb experience. Thank you, Konjo Ethiopian Food!!

  • 5/5 Sarah G. 3 years ago on Google
Delicious. My husband and I both had vegetarian combos, and they were everything that we love about Ethiopian food. The berbere sauce is insanely spicy (which we love). I was also extremely excited that their takeout containers were recyclable, and that they honor the request for no utensils. They send the food home in aluminum containers (w plastic lids) and paper bags. And I just noticed the Berbere sauce containers are compostable! We’ll be back!

I came here once before and it was decent enough to make me come back again. I wish I didnt.. There was a non ethiopian man working tonight, I was skeptical because of this but still gave it a shot. The spinach & potato dish had no potatoes in it and overall, the food just had no flavor. Luckily I took it home with me so I could try to throw some spices in it to give it some taste. Im very disappointed, and it looks like I'll have to drive all the way to Denver to get real Ethiopian food.

Got responses that food is great but online menu is a little confusing. Ordered a "Three entrée pan. 2-veggie & 1-meat", which ended up being a single, GIGANTIC meat entrée. Pretty bummed as half of my group was vegetarian so left a lot of hungry people. Why doesn't a three entrée pan include three entrees?

Solid chicken tibs and down to earth dudes working tonight. If you’re an injera lover (theirs is 👍👍) definitely ask for extra if you’re ordering extra veggies/meats. Serving wasn’t enough to sop up the goodness. Glad this place is here!
