Davidka Square is a hub of downtown Jerusalem. It is named after the Davidka, a weapon used in the defense of Israel and Jerusalem. The Davidka is prominently displayed. The light rail stops here and there are many stores and benches for sitting. Also a center for many bus routes and a nearby entrance to the Mahane Yehudah shuk.

This area has a few really great things going for it! The square has a cute garden with a nice water feature. You have Max Stock large store with great range of food, the phone stores (best place to get your phone repaired in Jerusalem... I recommend checking out the conveniences. During the day is the best place to visit, for sure.

The Davidka used in the Jerusalem campaign has been enshrined in a stone monument at the center of the aptly named Kikar Davidka, a public square on Jaffa Road just down the street from the entrance to the Machane Yehuda market. It's worth it to stop by and see the tiny mortar that, armed with little more than a big bang, helped found the State of Israel.

Always an enjoyable place to sit for coffee, with friends, or alone even to meditate. It's the one spot in town that has seating in the sun, when the rest of Yaffo is shadowed by buildings. It's right next to the train stops, coffee shops, Max stock, etc. Since the redesign, it allows more seating, more space between seated areas, natural shade from trees, the sound of water from the fountain within the square, and beautiful foliage.

This is the greatest spot in the city - I won't explain why. If you know, you know.

Beautiful open space with seating, for people to enjoy. Catch a ride on the light rail, get some coffee at Naaman cafe or do some local shopping.

A live inspiring corner of the center of Jerusalem, connecting past and present history of the city together, with the Shook (outdoor Market) nearby. Worth to explore

"Its bombs were reported to be extremely loud, but very inaccurate and otherwise of little value beyond terrifying opponents" The description of the weapon also happens to be a good description of the square. Loud and not a lot happening.

The young people were out here the other night singing and having a good time, very nice, it was quiet the next night. It's a nice area to relax, Zuni the restaurant is located down the block, busy in the day time, except on the Sabbath its very nice, you can walk and not worry about the cable cars, no autos on this street ever, lots of shops food n clothing

Doica is an intersection on Jaffa Street named after the Doica cannon that annihilated the Jordanians in the War of Liberation. The cannon was named there in memory.

I have been staying at the Abraham Hostel for the last 2 weeks which overlooks the square, I have been witness to many things here, From your 'regular' gathering of alcohol consumerers, to people protesting on the memorial - on this occasion a protest against vaccines (of which i too, am against btw), Anyway! I think it fair to state that this place is certainly not quiet, boring, but is most definitely a 'lively' hang-out for different people for very different reasons.

It's a square with an old weapon model and a monument. That's basically it. Not much to do in the square itself, it's a stop on the way to the near market or to the train/bus stop. There are occasionally popup stalls nearby and plenty of shops in the area.

Ideal landmark for locating the famous Backpackers Abraham Hostel. Also occassionally the venue for selling antiques. The park with comfortable benches, shady trees and grassy land is a good resting/ waiting place and drinking place in the e enings for the oldoes/homeless. Davidka with a prototype model of a gun/ tank reminds the horror of the second world war and also remind of the person who invented this gun, David.

There is nothing there just a tram/bus stop on Jaffa street streat and and old story about a cannon that only makes noise [a pice of black metal you wouldn't even now is there.that was used in some war 100 years ago]

This is basically a traffic island with some benches, a fountain of sorts. It's the meeting place of the ultra Orthodox neighbourhoods with the more secular city centre and so you can expect to see lots of black coats and hats together with a few drunks from the bars of the nearby market, Mahane Yehuda. There's a light rail train stop, several supermarkets and a lot of phone related businesses .Nothing to write home about really.

👍👍 In Motza (neighborhood of Jerusalem), there is the Yellin House. The first house built in Motza in 1890. The house is a symbol of the beginning of agricultural settlement in the Land of Israel. It was built by Yehoshua Yellin, the son of David Tevye Yellin, who had purchased the land from the Arabs...
