I stayed at The Cabin Hostel for 5 days during Ramadan. Staff was amazing- Mohamed, Basil and Ahmed were very helpful. I did 2 of the tours that were offered through the hostel. They even helped with my ride to the airport. The location is phenomenal, so many restaurants and shops. However, the traffic from outside can get noisy. I am NOT a light sleeper but I was awaken at times from the honking and the sounds from outside the window and inside the hostel. I was in the woman's dorm and our room had windows. The "dorm" rooms also does not have doors so you can hear people going in and out. It didn't bother me much because I was able to go back to sleep. I also read a few reviews about the cold showers. There is a sign that says it'll take about 5 minutes to warm, but it really took about 10 minutes. I really liked the rooftop area and most of the people that stayed at the hostel were pretty social. I would stay at this hostel again if I return to Amman.

Good location, but there were bed bugs in the room that bit us badly and we asked the receptionist and room service many times to clean and change the bed covers, but no one did!

Alright I am a bit mixed feelings about it. Amazing place but bad sleep. So good things first : - amazing location close to everything - super nice hostel and clean - super manager very kind and helpful But in another hand I would like to give some advices to improve. At the beginning I was very mad and I could give only 1 star for the sleep quality there. But because the owner was so kind and tried to help me, I prefer to leave this as recommendations. The noise at the 1st floor in the room behind the reception is terrible. Even with earplugs. The brother in charge at night talk so loudly to guests at any time of the night, or in the phone. If guests are chilling in the common area you can’t sleep neither. In many hostels around the world, rules are to chill in designed areas, far from dorms to let the people sleep. That’s what you pay for when you book a place at night.. so it could be great for the business to put rules in order to get all guests satisfied. The ones who want to party, party on the rooftop terrace and the ones who want to sleep, sleep well. Also, at the beginning I thought all the mattresses were terrible, I changed for the second floor for the last night and it was so much better. So I feel there is something wrong with the mattress on the top bed, right side front of the window, in left dorm, 1st floor. I was literally sinking in and sleeping on the wood. So I give a good mark for the location, the hostel in general and the kindness of the owner, but for sleeping quality, I didn’t sleep 3 nights in a row and ended up exhausted for my trip..

An absolutely fantastic place for solo travelers. The location is just perfect, in downtown, very near to Rainbow Street and all the tourist sites in Amman. The bunks and showers are great, and everyone at the reception is very helpful. They even have a shisha on the balcony. The local Jordanian restaurants are just across the street. Parking would be a problem, since they don't have their own space. Also, the showers and toilets are too few.

It has the the very best location in the city, right in the middle of the downtown. Because of the busy location and the lack of doors, it’s quite noisy. Bathroom ceiling is moldy, and shower heads are not working very well. The rooftop is very cozy. Beds are clean and very comfortable. Staff is very kind, jesting and hospitable.

Good hostel situated in the center of Amman’ downtown, at walking distance from main attractions such as the Citadel or the Roman theatre. Staff is friendly and utilities are ok for an hostel and the price. Watch out though, the dorms aren’t separated from the common areas with doors so if you’ve a light sleep or don’t like earplugs, it could be a problem.

Great little hostel in a very central area yet off the noise of the main road in the Old City of Amman. Literally everything is at your doorstep, restaurants, cafes, historic sites. It’s like a house and has two floors and a rooftop terrace. It has a shabby chic design and all stuff there has been recycled and looks DIYed. The staff members working there are super lovely. The dorms are basically open, not a separate room with a door, you can pull a curtain from the living room area so I’d imagine you hear everything and everyone passing through. The bathrooms are at the back of the living room, somehow you walk through the male toilet/shower to get to the lady’s. Yeah, the bathroom decor is really DIY, could be more modern, but I was relieved that there was good hot water (not a lot of water pressure). They have few twin rooms but they also have shared bathrooms. The big negative for me was that it was very cold inside - it’s like 10 degrees outside in the winter but no real heating inside the building. I had the AC on and it was set to 30 degrees but even though it was running through the afternoon/evening it barely raised the temperature in the room. Must be better staying there in the summer. In the winter there was no chance to get warmed up, my hands, feet, nose were freezing just by staying in the room.

Excellent hostel to stay in! The beds are comfortable, and the facilities are top notch! High speed internet as well! This hosts are really awesome! Basil, Ahmed and other staff are very welcoming and helpful. They are extremely informative, and speak good English. The place is the middle of downtown, and has loads of eateries and shopping streets all around. There is hot water, and a well equipped kitchen as well. Overall, a well deserved 10/10!

The people working there are excellent hostess, super kind and helpful. The localization is very good, 5$ usd distance from both bus station in Uber. The rooms are connected with the living, and no doors, sometimes people can go through and be noisy but in general is a super quiet hostel. Only negative point is there are 4 floors and the kitchen is in the last one.

Excellent welcome and helpful staff. It does look a bit scruffy and DIY but it's clean and there are lots of places to sit. The best location.

Lovely hostel that’s in a great location in the downtown area, with friendly helpful staff and super cute kittens. Only negative being if you book a private room a few of the rooms are noisy because they have windows onto the street. We were there during Ramadan and it was noisy until very late. Room 4 doesn’t have windows so if you need a good sleep book that room.

MY TEMPORARY HOME IN AMMAN I spent 14 days in Amman for a working trip and I choose this hotel as accommodation. The hotel is located in a very colorful, lifeful, and beautiful neighborhood where you can truly experience the local lifestyle. The room was very clean and adorable. Very good Wi-Fi connection and all the facilities were available and properly working. The people working at The Cabin are so charming and very welcoming. They treated as an old friend from the beginning. If you are planning to pass by Amman (even for a working trip like me) at a reasonable budget I really suggest you spend your nights at The Cabin. Following my original post: So I decided to leave in the morning on the second day,and I requested the refund. (I made a deal with Mohammed in the beginning of February. If I stay for the whole month,I pay 6 dinar per night;if I decide to leave earlier but I still stay for more than two weeks,I pay 7 dinar per night. But when he calculated how much he should pay me back,he insisted that each day I should pay him 7.5 instead of 7 because this is not his business alone. Hi,man, this is not the way people do business. We made the deal. If you were not happy about it,you should have said“no” in the beginning. As I tried to argue with him,he told me “you gave me one star for the review! You could have given me two stars or three stars. You are trying to destroy my business” …. One thing is one thing, the fact that I gave you one star did not mean that our deal did not exist. It‘s not about the money itself. It’s more about people‘s honesty. Later I did reflect upon your words and thought that the one star I gave before the whole argument started was indeed not fair, but your dishonesty made your place not even worthy one star. My original post: Mohammed, sorry to leave this comment, but I think other people, especially light sleepers like me,they need to have a fairer view of your place for them to decide. Pros:in general it‘s quite clean and the room is warm;you have plenty of restaurants, supermarkets and the market nearby;the coffee and tea is there 24/7 for free;you can use the kithen;there is a super cute and dumb cat;the staff there is extremely helpful Cons:there is just Toooooooooo much noise from both outside and inside. It‘s near the main road and you are immersed in noises from taxi honks, motorcycles, music and people shouting;from inside the hostel,There is No Door for the rooms and people talk in the common area loudly. During my initial few days staying there, there were fewer guests and it was fine. Then, more guests came and every day the noise of people talking persisted till around 1 or 2am. Although a piece of paper was posted there reminding people to talk outside when it was late, apparently many did not “notice” or follow it.

Nice hostel, big bunk beds. I like the sustainable aspect of how the interior was built. Friendly atmosphere. Easy to meet people to go on trips together to share cost. Great location. Negative aspects: it's certainly not quiet. Thin walls. Not much privacy as the beds are along the hallway and there are no doors. Bathroom ceiling is mouldy.

+ The location was perfect. Staff was helpful. There was a good kitchen on the roof. Beds had curtains and power outlet. - One night there was too much noise. A group that came in the middle of the night woke me up and disturbed me in my bed. The rooms have no doors and are separated by curtains. For this reason, the noise in the common area and other rooms reaches the bed. Pieces of paint spilled from the ceiling fell on my pillow. It was an uncomfortable situation. Bathrooms could be more modern

The rooms are not comfy, bedsheet with spots ,in shower only very hot water ,no place for towels etc,on another floor cold and hot water impossible to mix in warm, its was very difficult to take a shower ,if you are tired from the trip its not right place to take a rest . Its was very cold and nobody opened air conditioner , only when i asked they are opened but its was worked so bad , sometimes AC was open, sometimes close ,so i couldn't feel warm at all .

I stayed there for 9 days. I loved my experience there and I was satisfied with their service. Great location, you can literally walk everywhere and access great foods from Amman’s downtown. The only downside for me was some of the guests not caring for other people’s comfort by making noise and being loud. But this wasn’t too much and most of the guests were friendly and respectful, and the place itself was really safe to the point where I didn’t care about leaving my stuff around not worrying about them. The staff was also amazing, they were friendly and helpful. Overall, I am recommending The Cabin to everyone who wants to stay in downtown Amman and experience spending time in a hostel where you can meet different and nice people.
