We opted for the 3km buffalo hike. Saw more than 12 types of birds, no buffalos, but that didn't take away from our experience. It is a fantastic day out which allows you to combine historical sight seeing with moderate activity (there is a lot of walking involved). Great for children to have some space to not only learn but to enjoy the out doors. Wear comfortable shoes and take a drink/snack with you although there is a range of things you can buy there including some decent souvenirs. There is also a modern visitors centre and new bathrooms.

An interesting place, especially considering its importance for migrating birds. The gentleman at the reception was very kind and explained everything in detail. The short trail is 1km and the long one is 3.5km. The long trail is for a minimum of 3 people and it includes a guide. This is 9jd per person. The short one is 6jd and without a guide. This is for residents. For non-residents your pay a few extra jd. It's a shame the place is now 12% of its original size and they have to pump water into the reserve to keep it alive.

What a wonderful surprise: a wetland in the middle of the desert. The trails are well marked with signs to help you understand what you are looking at. The best part was observing the birds. There are observation buildings that allow you to watch the birds comfortably while not being seen. The receptionist advised that April and September- October are the best times to see the birds migrating between Africa and Europe.

Amazing nature, if you need a break from your hectic busy life. Unfortunately the water is being pumped to Amman randomly, this lead to desertification.

It is OK but small and not overwhelming. Nice to get out of the city but nothing special if have seen anything outside of Jordan

Unfortunately there is hardly any wet left at these wetlands. They have started pumping water back into the wetlands, which is a start, but they still have a long way to go. Center is very informative and there are still lots of birds that migrate through here that you can see if you time your visit right.

Two trails available to walk and a very nice picnic area!

Very nice staff they let us in just in front of closing time. We took the short trail (like 15-20 minutes of walking), information in English on signs. Nice museum about the history of the Wetland. Worth the money since they use it to protect and reserve this area.
