I came here with a group, hosting a number of people. It’s incredible to arrive at night because the building and the architecture is stunning. However, the hotel is let down by the staff and maintenance. The reception staff were not just unhelpful and sour faced, but rude and unhelpful, even to the point of smirking. On checking in, I asked to step out from behind the counter and explain the lifts and the hotel and the breakfast et cetera to the group - which they refused to do. Even though we arrive late at night, the check and process was slow and torturous, and the bags took too long to get to the room. I had many stains on my room carpet - others staying said their carpets were dirty and maintenance poor. My toilet smelt of sewage - I had to hold my breath. I worked out the water trap in the floor drain had dried out and was allowing odours from the septic sewer into my bathroom. I’m amazed that staff didn’t pick this up. The breakfast was uninspiring and the staff didn’t explain the situation of cooked foods, they made you walk to them to get the tea etc. When my group left they accused two of stealing shoehorns which were never in the room anyway. We made jokes about it on the coach. And another of our group they accused of not paying for her coffee in her room, when she had. Our Guide ended up paying for it as well. This held up our departure. This is a government owned and run Hotel (you can tell) - everyone avoids eye contact, and my group can’t understand how it can be five stars with the terrible service, and stained dirty carpets in the rooms. I will recommend the company does not use this hotel and future despite its amazing location and initial “awe” factor. We have stayed twice as a group at the Ritz Carlton in Almaty - Kazakhstan - now that is a 5 1/2 star hotel !

We've stayed there for four nights, and service has been on top level. The staff are professional. They accommodated all of our needs. We had the panoramic view of the city from our rooms. The spa complex is very well maintained. Best wifi. Also, there is a carpet shop on the ground floor, and the seller is honest, probably the cheapest place for tourists. We got a carpet cheaper than the shops in the city.

Stayed here two nights in Ashgabat. The building is incredible, the beds are perfect - very soft and easy to fall asleep in. The gym is actually good and usable and features a collection of free weights and machines. I didn't get a chance to try the spa or restuarant, but will next time. The staff was also very helpful facilitating check in and out late at night.

Stayed in a hotel nearby but went there to have dinner in the 'Panorama Restaurant' Food: 3/5 stars Service: 5/5 stars Atmosphere: 2/5 stars Unfortunately their panorama restaurant is angled away from the city resulting in disappointing views. The food was nothing special or 'just okay'. You definitely feel that the hotel is a more exclusieve and expensive one, the service in the restaurant is very professional.
