Came here right when they opened so there was no wait. We had the AYCE. There were free appetizers. The waiters responded to your choices on the screen really quick. There were many varieties of meats and vegetables to choose from. The sauce station had many options as well for you to mix and match. Everyone has their own pot and lots of room.

Sept 2021 Excellent hot pot, good food, great service, and fantastic experience! Note masks are required. There were some negatives, but first an overview of the space. The place itself was open, clean, and brightly lit. Though the lightbulb over our table was out, we honestly didn't notice until we were almost done. The induction cooktops for the pots are recessed into the table (easier to see into the pot), with the controls located on the edge of the table (simple on/off and +/- buttons). Each person gets their own hot pot. You order from a tablet mounted on the table. The interface can be a little confusing at times, but easy enough to follow once you get the hang of it. Note the service category, where you can request the check, a refill of water/tea/soup, a different soup base, and other things. Also note everything you order on the tablet is printed onto your check. The pots themselves are very idiot-proof, covered in plastic for easy handling and allowing you to place it on the tabletop without worry. Food portions are small (but you can always order more) and if your tabletop isn't big enough to fit everything, they also have these small portable shelves by your table to put the excess. There are two unisex bathrooms that were clean and relatively dry. The floor gets wet by the sink/hand dryer by dinner time. Note there is an additional sink outside the bathrooms, with paper towels. It's mainly for the employees, but customers can use it too. All the staff are very friendly and they offer hair ties (new, individually wrapped) if you want to tie your hair back. They are usually quick to bring your orders. We only had one time they were slow to bring us our order and we hit the "where is my order?" button. Otherwise, they are also quick to take away used or empty plates. Everything was very good and delicious. Some notes about the food. The spicy soup base, even the less spicy one, are not for the faint of heart. They are SPICY. I suggest only getting it if you REALLY like spicy. And if it's not to your taste, you can switch it out for an extra $1. If you order a half-and-half soup base, it comes in a special pot that has a built in divider. Very good at keeping them separate, unless one boils over into the other. The crab sticks come individually wrapped in plastic, so be sure to take those off before putting them into the pot. Probably the one, definite negative was the milk tea. First, note the Bubble Tea category is deceptive. They do not offer bubbles (boba). We ordered a taro milk tea and a lychee tea. The lychee tea was decent, with a good (but not very strong) lychee flavor. The taro milk tea was just disappointing. There was barely any milk/cream and it was VERY watery. The taro flavor wasn't very strong either. Do NOT get the milk teas. Overall, very good hot pot and will definitely come back (went twice before posting this review).

Great experience, they had a nice space for a party of 8. Appreciate the appetizer area, that's a nice touch and gives you a bit of variety. Wide range of drinks which is nice but some are not included in AYCE price. Amount of food they bring is very inconsistent, some are for 8 people and others are individual. Hard to gauge how much to order. But the staff is very nice and bring everything quickly. There's a 90 minute limit but they didn't come enforce it though it wasn't busy either. Overall a good experience and I would recommend! Minus one star because of weird portion size and a bit less variety than I would have liked. Desserts are nice too.

The hotpot was good and I think that having all you can eat us pretty cool. I think I prefer the bigger single pot when doing hotpot rather than the really small ones. I'd say this location has a lot of options of things to go inside the hotpot. If you're very hungry you won't be disappointed by coming here.

Came here for all you can eat hotpot, while it wasn’t amazing it wasn’t bad either. Their broth was actually spicy when I got the extra spicy and they had good mountain yam which I liked a lot. The part I didn’t like was that it took a while sometimes for the dishes to come out and unfortunately the meat was kind of mediocre which in my opinion is the most important hotpot dish

This could have easily been a 4 star restaurant with its quality ingredients, reasonable price, homage to chinese culture, and cool factor (they use a robot to deliver drinks!). Unfortunately when I went the service was lacking, not because the staff were bad, but because there were too many customers and not enough staff to attend to orders. This caused my orders to be significantly delayed; even though everyone around us got their food already, we only got our hot pots and meat. The rest of the things we ordered (veggies, seafood, etc) arrived 30 min later after we finished eating most of the meat. The hot bar was also never refilled, probably because the kitchen is swamped with the amount of people there. I spoke to the staff and it sounds like normally there's not many people visiting. Hopefully when you visit, your experience will be much better.

The food was so good and staff were all really friendly as well. There was a 30 minute wait time, but it was well worth it—we left completely stuffed (but happy)! :)

If drive, you need to park your car in a nearby garage and it had costed us $8 when visited. However, you can get a 50% discount ticket from the restaurant cashier for the garage across the street. There are lots of food options (vegetarian or not) to choose from and it's all you can eat (but, you might be penalized if you didn't finish what you've ordered). You make orders from an order machine, which is quite neat and convenient. The wait time from the orders are submitted to the items are available on the table probably takes less than 5 minutes, which may depend on how busy the restaurant is. You pay lower price if you visit for lunch in the weekdays. Otherwise, you will pay the rate for the dinner/weekend with extra items on the menu to order from.

The interior design of the restaurant is phenomenal and the service is reasonably fast. One of the best AYCE hot pot around. They serve a wide range of food and the workers are very considerate of the 90 minutes time frame.

I've eaten a lot of hot pot around the world. Most Americans don't know that in many parts of Asia, hot pot is as common as a family Sunday dinner and hot pot restaurants can be more numerous than McDonalds. In fact, it is not uncommon to zip into a hot pot restaurant and have a quick lunch. I've also eaten at a lot of hot pot restaurants in the U.S. and in most cases you find a lot of unauthentic things. That is why Hot Pot City has now become my favorite. Before getting to the food, I'll mention the restaurant itself. Unlike most hot pot places, this is a place to take a group or a date for a pleasant evening. It's big, but not huge. It's well-lit, nicely decorated, and decently spaced out. It has open areas and more intimate corners. The pleasant, low-level background music compliments the nice ambience. It is also impeccably clean (unlike most hot pot restaurants). The tables, floors, and restrooms are spotless. The tables and booths are spacious and well-maintained. Unlike some hot pot restaurants, the induction heaters are recessed into the table tops and located further away from you. I mention these things because the majority of hot pot restaurants seem to aspire to vibe somewhere between a sports bar, a Waffle House, a Chuck E. Cheese, and a karaoke bar. This is none of those things. It's a very nice, sophisticated, bistro setting. OK, now for the food. Simply: It is among the most authentic I've come across here. Mind you, there are hot pot traditions in a lot of Asian countries and there are lots of variations. Still, the ingredients and condiments reflect much of what you would find overseas. Incredibly fresh. Hot Pot City (HPC) is a fixed price, all you can eat. As of this writing (5/3/23), weekday lunch is $22.99 and all other times during the day and week are $33.99. (Children get 50% off.) Not the cheapest hot pot out there, but by the time you finish reading this, you'll know why it's a better value than most. Like many hot pot restaurants, you order food, drinks, refills, and summon your waiter from a simple touch panel at the table. The menu variety of hot pot ingredients surpasses even larger hot pot restaurants. A choice of TEN different soup bases, including an option for half and half. Traditional thinly-sliced premium beef, pork, and chicken are included, along with an array of traditional offal. (Hey! Don't knock it, til you try it!) Similarly, shrimp, fish, squid, octopus, mussels, and clams are also included as are the traditional soup favorites beef balls, fish balls, lobster balls, "fish tofu", imitation crab stick, mini sausages, and SPAM. One notable item that you rarely see on any hot pot menu are fresh, handmade pork and cilantro meatballs. (There are also 12 special traditional meat and offal selections available for an additional charge.) Likewise, they out-do most other hot pot places with a choice of NINETEEN different vegetables, four varieties of tofu, four varieties of noodles, rice, and even Chinese youtiao (deep fried bread sticks). Compare this to most hot pot places and in most cases they simply can't come close to matching HPC. BUT, there is still a lot MORE that comes included with the price. There is a modest, but nice six-item hot/cold appetizer bar included. On the day I went there, it included cucumber salad, chilled spicy Asian chicken, fried rice, lo mein, spring rolls, and French fries. Fresh kimchi is included and there are 5 special hot, made-to-order appetizers, at an additional cost. Hot tea, iced tea, and soda are included, at no extra charge. Bottled juices, herbal tea (Red Bull), coconut milk, and soy milk and available for a low additional charge. Specialty tea drinks are also available for under $4. Premium Asian beer, sake, and rice wines are available, by the small and large bottles. Guess what? Dessert is included, too! Black sugar ice pudding, shaved ice, "snow fungus soup", and self-serve vanilla & matcha ice cream. When you add it all up, it is the most complete, value-added meal you'll ever find.

This is the best AYCE restaurant I could find in DMV. They got good varieties and meats are better than any AYCE restaurant in the area I’ve been to. Sauce bar had good tons of options Highly recommended the brown sugar something dessert after hotpot!! So refreshing! The fungus dessert and ice cream were just ok tho. Service was fast, welcoming and helpful.

Great little place, no wait to be seated. Selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables is good quality. There was brisket, tripe, flounder, and squid. They have some other items on the minue like duck blood so good cooked in a spicy hotpot broth, so good!!! This sort of place is great with 2 or more people so you can try different items and dishes. Note: Price may vary, not all items are on the all you can eat menu, and have a separate cost per serving.

Went on a Saturday for lunch with friends. We were able to sit right away. Hot pot soup base were really good. Meat, veggies, and other assortments selection and quality were excellent. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was delivered fast. We all ate too much as usual but Happy with the experience. The only minor disappointment was not enough selection of the appetizers included. BTW, Google lists this place for $. Their price has gone up. It's more like $$½ now, but still worth it.

We went as a group to celebrate my friend’s birthday. Makes sure y’all punctual because they won’t seat you until all your party come. There isn’t any waiting area, so it was cold standing waiting by the door. You have 90 mins window, and they def will handed you bill once your 90mins comes.

It was good but I prefer the traditional huge pot in the middle that everyone shares out of, feels more homey and social that way. They also didn't have the sweet chili sauce that every other hot pot place I've been to had. I'll have to remind myself to bring my own sauce if we go back. The ordering pad was nice, the portions were huge though so be careful how much you order. All in all it was a good experience.

Overall solid hotpot buffet place. We haven't been to other places recently but it's sad to see that they don't have thinly sliced lamb nor spinach. The beef brisket is thin as is the Angus beef. You can eat for about two hours and get free parking at the closest parking garage if you validate at the restaurant and stop by Regal to get an extra valid validation

This has become my favorite hot pot spot on the Pike. First off, you can make reservations by calling in. Highly recommend if you plan on dining Fri- Sunday nights. AYCE runs you around $34. You get fresh produce, quality cuts of meat and delicious seafood. Our food and drinks usually come out under 5 minutes. The restaurant is well run with so many servers helping us and making sure we had a great experience. The quality of the broths and sauces here are so rich. I've taken 2 groups of friends here in the past 2 months and they love it. You leave not feeling too full and MSG running through your system. Even with some of the tables having limited space they have this small cart with multiple levels to leave your uncooked food on. Parking here is really easy to find with street and also garage with 2 hour half off validation. I love the Tom Yum and bone broth. You do have the option for having 2 broths as well. The service and food quality here has always been consistent. Highly recommend Hot Pot City if you want authentic Chinese hot pot.

A pretty good hot pot restaurant in Rockville town center. All meats and vegetables were relatively fresh and seafoods were bad either. The regular spicy broth was really spicy compare to other hot pot places, so I would recommend making it less spicy. You order everything from the iPad, which was straightforward and easy. Staffs were very attentive and the restaurant was clean. If you are in Rockville town center and craving some hot pot, this is the perfect place!

Hands down the best Hot Pot in the area. I came here countless times and it's safe to say that the food/service is incredibly consistent. What also makes this restaurant special is the ordering process where you order via tablets from each table. Highly recommended 🤙
