Visited 9.23.22 Restaurant has great food, plenty of choices, and the waiter (Reza?) was attentive and very nice. Parking is ample too. Free bread is very good.

Pros 🏆 Great food Great atmosphere Good service Kind staff 😊 Not too long of a wait Handicap accessible ♿ Handicap parking ♿ 🅿 Cons Parking Went here for a date, food was great, company was awesome, had a great time and lot of laughter. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken breast and it was great the caprese not so much. 😊 If you like the review and/or the photos/videos, please hit "like 👍" below to let me know, it is much appreciated 😊.

I’ve been to this restaurant on many occasions. Last week I was there for lunch and today was for dining out. I never had any issues here. Service is always top notch. Lunch menu is smaller portion than dinner. My only con is if you’re picking up food there’s no parking. Crème brûlée is my favorite dessert here.

I never get tired of this place. If I lived close by, I probably come to this place everyday 😊 I always get the sea bass spring salad. This is the best salad I’ve ever had. It comes with homemade raspberry vinaigrette dressing, slices of fresh naval orange and strawberries, candied walnuts, and lightly breaded sea bass. I can’t have dairy so I usually asked without the goat cheese. The price is very reasonable. The mussels caprese is seasoned with garlic, white wine and lemon juice. This one is so delicious. The pizza is really good too, unfortunately I can’t eat the cheese. I wish they serve pizza with vegan cheese option.

After I tried to search for nice Italian restaurants got a while in my area for while, finally I found Fontina Grill where is good choice. They are chosen in top ten best restaurants in Montgomery county, MD recently. I have no question why. It is not too formal restaurant but make you feel impressive and comfortable. Inside is clean, organize, nice decoration. Outside restaurant makes me feel like a Cafe. I decided to came here because I really want to try Spagetti Cabonnara with blackened chicken brest that I couldn't find this dish at most Italian restaurants around here, for some reason, also pesto pasta dish (with grilled chicken breast). But Fontina Grill have both. They still has a lot of choices of Italian food in their menu including pasta, sandwich/burger and homemade pizza. Absolutely I will come back and try all of them soon after I was very enjoy my meal today and service is fairly good. I spent around $51 (plus tax and tip) for two lunch dishes with free bread appetizer. The price seem a little high but you get what you pay, I guess. Not a big deal though because they were quite big portion that you can even take some home for another meal. The only thing that might bothered me was the parking quite limited.

Our first time at the restaurant and everything was great. The seafood pasta was amazing, the salmon entre was superb and lastly the beef pasta was delicious too. The service was great as well but the food is little pricey. We were seated at the patio and with weather being pleasant, we enjoyed the food and the ambiance. I definitely recommend this restaurant for good Italian food.

Solid choice for casual Italian food. Pleasant outdoor seating in a quiet area. Complimentary bread was top notch and unlimited! However the white truffle pizza was far too cheesy.

A nice, cute restaurant in a posh neighborhood. Big restaurant, but tight walking thru the aisles. Good food, seasoned not too much, but just right. I had the chicken chesapeake. I thought there would be more crab in it... Not. They literally take crab and sprinkle it on the pasta. I would come here again, but won't order that.

I am basing this purely on the to-go ordering, specifically the pizza. We are regular dine-in customers and will say the food is always pretty good. However, if you order pizza to go, you might want to try someplace else. The last three times we have ordered pizza to-go from Fontina, they have screwed up the order. The most recent was on Friday, 10/27/2023. I ordered two small pizzas, both with double pepperoni. The pizza my wife got with onions and sausage had pepperoni covering all the pieces of pizza. My pizza with double pepperoni and olives had maybe two pieces per piece. The guy working the to-go counter tried convincing me that the sausage pizza would get more pepperoni. That made zero sense to me. He offered to have them make another pizza, which would be 10-15 minutes. I did not have time for that, and it should have been right the first time, especially with the last three pizza orders we ordered having at least one pizza incorrect. The pizza at Fontina is not inexpensive to begin with, and they do cheap out on toppings, but if you get double something, it should be double the quantity. I won’t be ordering pizza to-go from them again, which is sad because they were our go-to pizza place.

This is my first time visiting this restaurant. Although it is Monday evening, I still make reservations online. The atmosphere is good and the restaurant is clean and tidy. We ordered a New Yorker pizza and it was good. The dish, Cioppino also did not let us down. The only disappointment is the Crusted Rockfish. The fish itself is ok but the noodles are bland. Overall, the food quality is good. Probably will return again in the future.

This restaurant is known more for its pizzas. The bread and olive oil were tasty. My eggplant parm could have been a bit better. It felt thin but maybe that was due to it being a lunch portion. The carbonara was tasty. The restaurant is a great gathering place for brunches and lunches. It also has a vibrant bar scene.

Best Italian you'll find. Everything is so flavorful and even the bread to start with is sooooo good. The staff is so friendly and always take time to talk to my son when I bring him. Great food, and great staff. This is a little hidden gem more people should know about.

Went to Fontina Grille for dinner to celebrate my sisters birthday. Second time here. Food was great ! Even my sister enjoyed her meal . Waiter gave excellent service. We were full from the bread and appetizers that we couldn’t finish our entrees. Definitely recommended .

Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Food was fresh and the portions were fair. Pizza crust was fresh and had great crunch. The sausage on the pizza was a little heavy. Fettuccine Alfredo had great flavor and creamy sauce wasn't broken. Sunday hh from 3-6

I gave it five stars overall but must say the tres leches wasn't good and the strawberry syrup only made it grocery store kind of dessert. Grilled octopus was good, fried calamari was average, flaming shrimp was delicious. Maybe because it had more seasoning then everything else I tried. Sangria was fine. Note that the kitchen closes at 9 on Saturdays.

The appetizer we ordered were not fresh or tasty. Zero flavor. The muscles had a very fishy taste. The broth was not good. The bread they served was not fresh the chips they serve with the dip that we got was also stale. The calamari was very rubbery. Overall appetizer quality was a 1. Entrées they did better the fettuccine Alfredo was decent. The shrimp risotto was just mediocre. We were really disappointed in the quality of the food. This restaurants been a staple in King Farm for years. Hope they can tweak things again. But service was great. Server was wonderful.

Fantastic service, Jazz themed decor and great food. It is too dark inside for my liking, but overall nice and welcoming ambiance. We ordered Grilled Salmon, Lasagna, and Marsala Veal. We all liked the food. We were helped by Reza and he was exceptional. Thank you! Lots of parking right outside the restaurant.

Ordered the Seafood Rose and it was very delicious. Also had the carrot cake and that was good too. Portions were a nice size. Staff was efficient and attentive. Overall it was a good experience.

Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. Food was fresh and the portions were fair. Pizza crust was fresh and had great crunch. The sausage on the pizza was a little heavy. Fettuccine Alfredo had great flavor and creamy sauce wasn't broken. Some places have the oil separate from the sauce. Will go again.

An authentic Italian restaurant in Rockville. Good food and ambiance. Parking may be hard to find on the main street during peak hours. Check the street by the main entrance. Food is great and staff is courteous. Go for dessert. Thank me later.

This place is absolutely fantastic. When you walk in you're greeted with an upbeat welcoming attitude. Many people frequent this place regularly which is a testament to their quality. I eat here often and I have never once had bad service or food. They truly care about their customers. Their food quality is outstanding and the restaurant is always clean. On many items they will let you change the type of sauce as well as other minor changes. The atmosphere is very nice as is the decor. These people go out of their way to serve their customers and even hosted and helped plan a small wedding reception for my daughter within the restaurant. I can't say enough good about this business.

Absolutely Disgusting! And highly disappointed. I got the chicken Chesapeake and the chicken wasn’t even seasoned nor the jumbo crab so the whole dish tasted bland. I couldn’t even eat it. And the side Cesar salad had TWO croutons and no cheese. Would not recommend or eat here again.

Might replace our regular place. Plenty of seating inside and out. Quick efficient staff. Some excellent food. The calamari was a hit, cooked perfectly with not a hint of fish. Ryan enjoyed his pizza. Lee liked the Rockfish. The cesser salad was ok... But the Tuna on it was better. Nobody would say the antioxidant martini wasn't "Vodka Forward". Everyone was too full for desert... But that didn't stop us. I really liked the chocolate cake. Ryan wouldn't share his carrot cake. Lee said the tiramisu was worth the visit alone. Definitely recommend.

Can't count how many times I've driven by Fontina Grille, but today I finally stopped in to eat. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, with some unusual offerings on the menu, including a Wild Mushroom appetizer, and a Steakhouse Pizza. We also had the crispy calamari and a tasty meatball sub. I'll definitely return. Right now they have tons of covered outdoor seating. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant.
