Wonderful illuminating & inspiring stay. We had a 3 day stay at Swan and it was a true pleasure, a wonderful experience to treasure and we feel privileged that they share the amazing knowledge and teachings so generously and patiently. Yoga and Vedic knowledge is extremely precise and is normally inaccessible but they share so authentically and accesibly to us. Waking up to do 6am meditation in a beautifully illuminated room in the forest to the sounds of nature is a wonderous experience. The asanas and exercises ranging from yoga exercises, breathing pranayama to concentration meditation with flame focus all unveiled a glimpse of the depth of knowledge before us. Everyone was so friendly and we are grateful to Gyan Mitra, all the teachers and Brijesh and Victoria for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended if you are looking to learn and experience a glimpse of a higher path. 🙏🏽🕉️

The best experience in my life at Swan❤️ I completed 200 hours Yoga Teachers Training Course. It was very interesting informative course. The Yoga philosophy classes and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali classes were amazing and mind-expanding. Also we had morning meditation, asana classes, Yoga-nidra, karma Yoga, Shatkarmas - cleansing practices and Havan with Kirtan - it is a very spiritual part. The place wonderful! The center is surrounded by palm trees and greenery. Staff prepared delicious pure vegetarian dishes. The dishes were very diverse, healthy and nutritious. Also I had a consultation with an ayurvedic doctor and had massages treatments. Highly recommended! So I very like this place and I miss so much! Hope to see you again! Thank you very much Gyanmitra, Shivendra, Dayamurti and all staff! Hari Om Tat Sat 🙏💙

Thank you Swan yoga retreat. We went as a couple and had a fantastic time! It’s like a little slice of paradise with all the greenery and wildlife. We did the weekend retreat and it was perfect. The staff are very attentive and we always felt very included in everything. The asana sessions are tough (we are beginners) but the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and guided us through everything with explanations. I definitely feel my understanding of yoga has expanded and I hope I continue in this journey! I certainly feel inspired. The cottages are lovely, there is no ac so they can get warm, they have fans. The yoga studios and other common areas are beautiful. The experience of morning meditation hearing the birdsong as the sunrises is just unforgettable. The staff helped us organise taxis etc and were very responsive through WhatsApp prior to our arrival. I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s definitely catered towards the more experienced yogi but an amazing experience for a beginner too.

We spent 8 wonderful and deeply spiritual days at SWAN. This was combined with amazing Ayurvedic healing food 😊 We felt welcomed and part of the SWAN family from Day 1. We came expecting yoga workouts and ended up with a life changing experience. We learnt about happiness, history, yoga asanas, detox, Ayurveda and meditation. We also learnt how to chant mantras that help in calming the mind and bringing positive healing vibrations into ourselves. Thank you Gyanmitraji, Shivendraji and Dayaji 🙏

I went to Swan Yoga Retreat for New Years Eve. It's not just yoga retreat, its a beautiful experience. If you are looking out to experience nature and slow life very closely, you might want to give a try. What I really loved is, its dense green and when you get up in morning you can feel that calm inside you. I could sleep sound, the food was amazing. The place has this positive vibe and people are caring. They listen and go miles to make your stay beautiful. I took few Ayurvedic treatment, it was amazing. After I came back, I started to miss being at Swan. While writing this I already planned my next visit. Sony

India is a country of diversity. There are a lot of beautiful things to see. I have always had a liking for travel and explore the spiritual heritage. I heard about Swan a few years back and finally when I got time to visit Goa, I knew this would be my first choice. I had seen plenty of photographs of this place and when I saw in reality I was touched to see the perseverance of nature. I came with my best friend, we stayed in a standard cottage. It was very nice and spacious with sitting area outside. This place is so simple and beautiful. Though I could not attend all the asana classes because of my physical health issues but I attended other sessions like yoga nidra, yoga philosophy & happiness analysis. The havan was most remarkable. The yogic practices and meditation are done living in between this serene nature, it is one of a kind experience. The teachers teaching here are blessed with wisdom. I learned so much from them. The place felt home, the people working here never made me feel that I am a guest, I felt like I'm living with my caring family. They also have Ayurveda facility with a doctor. We had consultation and treatments and felt it was very traditional and authentic. Also, being an Indian and foodie, I’d say I had the most delicious and healthy food at swan. I wish I could have joined their cooking class to learn the amazing and simple way of Ayurvedic cooking, next time for sure. I enjoyed fresh coconut water and fruit juices at the juice bar. I learnt a lot about healthy lifestyle and bought copper water bottle from the boutique they have. They have a temple in which they perform havan, bhajan & kirtan that touched my soul. Since we like to see different places, they also arranged a taxi for a day tour in Goa on a holiday. I found everybody smiling and they always say Hari Om to greet you. Now a days, A lot of fashion yoga studios are open in every city in India, but this is very simple yet worth getting a true yoga experience. We also celebrated Diwali with all other guests and swan members. We originally booked for a week but liked it so much that we extended our stay for another week. You will be filled with knowledge and lot of energy when you go back home. I am already back in my home and feeling the energy inside. I will definitely go back next year for a longer duration and perhaps do the Panchakarma. Thank you swan.

The most amazing Yoga Experience at Swan yoga retreat I had been looking for a yoga retreat to increase my knowledge about yoga and meditation in Goa. I found Swan online and i thought to give it a go. I chose the two week yoga intensive course. I met different teachers and i was amazed by the amount of information they have about yoga and i was taught how i can apply it in our daily lives. In the beginning at the morning meditation it was hard to concentrate but after 3-4 days it was very calm and i learned to go inwards. Gyanmitra is an excellent teacher. Talking about teachers, you have to meet Om. I was astounded by his knowledge about all the things and his way of teaching. They have a temple where we learn the chanting of mantras and perform a fire ritual called havan. A special class of Nada Yoga was taught by Om. They have this way of making you learn in a traditional style where you know the roots of yoga. The other guests were nice and sweet. All the staff were helpful. They have got beautiful cottages in and around nature. I stayed in the standard room. It has a beautiful porch. The food was above my expectations, i am a non vegetarian but after eating the vegetarian food I didn’t feel the need to even think about meat. It has not been long and i am missing the food already. For the people who are looking for a yoga holiday in India or in Goa you must come to Swan Yoga. Overall my trip was very nice. I am planning my Yoga Teacher Training and I’ll be there soon.

I completed 200 hours yoga teacher training at Swan in December 2023. I did the training to deepen my understanding of the full breadth of yoga, rather than with any set intention to teach. I received far more than simply knowledge. The wisdom I received has completely changed my perspective on life. I am so honoured and grateful to have received the ancient wisdom of yoga from the amazing gurus that live, work and serve at Swan. Through a beautifully curated schedule of meditation, asana, yoga philosophy, yoga nidra, mantra chanting, studying Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and weekend fire ceremonies, I have begun to understand that our true existence goes far beyond this body, this mind and this life. The learning at Swan is entirely experiential and when you start to stretch the boundaries of your mind and body, you realise what you’re capable of. The staff are the warmest souls, who welcome you in with absolute love and care. The gurus are wise, knowledgeable and committed to their spiritual mission of passing on the teachings of their ancestors. I have to give special mention to Swarnim who manages the place and looks after all guests with the most impressive patience, efficiency, kindness and sense of humour. Swan won’t be for everyone. If you want to be an asana teacher in the ‘West’, you’ll gain some very good experience of that, but that isn’t the focus of this course. If you want luxury beyond everything you actually need to be comfortable, stay elsewhere. If you’re averse to a strict schedule, perhaps think again. But if you’re prepared to be disciplined, open-minded and challenged, then this is the right place for you. In return, you’ll get a life-altering experience, you’ll be held like family in this ashram-style environment, fed wonderfully healthy food, bestowed with profound ancient wisdom and coached to become the best version of yourself. Surely there is no better gift? See you again soon Swan. Hari Om Tat Sat. 🙏🏽

I came to SWAN for the three-week 200h Yoga Teacher Training (November 2023). Here’s what I hope is a balanced review of the experience: Run by teachers trained at the renowned Bihar School of Yoga, this YTT goes very deep into the fascinating yoga philosophy and lifestyle. Beyond the formal teachings in the classroom, the ashram-like schedule (albeit a “light” version) allowed me to truly disconnect from my normal rhythm and try out a new way of living (early wake up for meditation, 2 deliciously healthy sattvic meals per day in a communal setting etc). I have left SWAN feeling deeply inspired to pursue yoga as a spiritual path, which I know will not only benefit me but also my own yoga teacher path. I also met only amazing souls there (both SWAN teachers and guests), which is a testament to the great energy of the place. The YTT was, however, more of a yoga immersion / philosophy experience than a teacher training per se. After three weeks, I feel deeply inspired by yoga, but do not feel like I have gained any additional practical skills to become a yoga teacher in the West. The asana (physical posture) classes were joint with other non-YTT guests, and we were only given 30min after each class to ask questions regarding asana practice. There was no curriculum to guide us to become asana teachers, and minimal focus was given on alignments, adjustments, and teacher practice during the three weeks. I also expected the campus to be better maintained than it was and to provide basic amenities (like toilet paper). The place is a bit run down (with blue plastic tarps over each roof, bits of uncollected trash etc). SWAN is a beautiful gem with potential to become even greater with a bit more care and intentionality given to its class curriculum and materials, as well as to its campus. Thanks to SWAN for a truly unique experience which has left a great mark in my yoga journey.

I had an incredible experience at SWAN and feel blessed to have discovered this gem. The people and teachings are deep rooted and traditional, yet taught with the awareness of the modern world and its challenges. SWAN introduced me to yoga in totality and made me look beyond the physical asana part. Philosophy classes, the healing mantra chanting, meditation, yoga nidra, different cleansing techniques and the highlight, two weekly Havan ceremony’s (with Mantras and Kirtans to chant along). The campus is surrendered by beautiful nature, lots of birds, stunning flowers, a ‘fake beach’ area to sunbath or just hang out. Also you open your eyes to the sun rising and the birds singing after every morning meditation. SWAN is not luxury and therefor a really comfy place. The ayurvedic based food is not only delicious, but also made my skin glow after a few days. The place is run by Indian teachers and Daya, Gyanmitra, Shivendra and Swarnim have impressive knowledge and experience in all areas of yoga. Yet SWAN is a place that’s keeps your feet on the ground and lets the guests be themselves and get the experience they seek. So no matter if you want to dive deeper in yoga or are just looking for some relaxed days in a yoga retreat. I can only recommend it and not thank the staff enough for gifting me such a unique experience. Hari Om Tat Sat & see you soon! 🙏🏼

I stayed in Swan on two occasions - in January 2018 and May 2019. I totally love the place and their drive to spread the message and teachings of Yoga. I am sure each time I visit Goa, Swan will be a must visit & stay for me. It's set on the edge of the forest and is in complete harmony with nature, inspite of being very centrally located. All the popular beaches of North Goa are within 15-30 minutes scooter rides away. Inside Swan, it is absolutely calm and silent most of the day. The classes and various sessions are conducted professionally and on schedule. The wholesome vegetarian food served at Swan is tasty and nutritious and as good as home cooked food. On both my visits, I stayed in the cottages (two single beds) with attached bath. These bamboo and wood cottages are simple but very functional. The common areas and yogashalas are my favorite spots at Swan, and one can lounge around them the whole day, meet other guests and enjoy the nature around. When no one is around, one hears only the rustle bustle of trees and dried leaves and the chirping of insects and birds. On Saturday's and Sunday's they host a Homum prayer ceremony in the evenings and is open for all. Apart from the wonderful and open minded people who run the place the draw of the place is its simple, yet harmonius design that respects the nature it's part. Exactly how a Yoga retreat should be. It's not a five star retreat if that's what you are looking for. But the experience is five star.

I stayed at swan for 21 days panchakarma and already on the second day decided to prolong my stay. The place has a peaceful and home away from home like atmosphere that is beyond words. Gyanmitra is an incredible teacher, he is very knowledgeable and his teachings are very pure and authentic, there is no pretending or trying to create a certain image as I have sometimes seen in other yoga places. I enjoyed his classes a lot. I was welcomed from the first day with an open heart and was able to heal and learn in so many ways during my stay there. I did not only get the panchakarma I went for but also got to experience and learn more about what for me is the essence of yoga. The ayurvedic doctor (Dr. Siddhesh) and my therapist (Surya) were also absolutely wonderful and very competent, as was the rest of the staff. The food was delicious. I will definitely go back and will always look back on my time at swan with great love and gratitude🙏🏼🤍

Best Ashram Experience. Living here and practising yoga for two week made my stress go away. They have yoga asana classes twice a day. Those 90 mins sessions each will make you realise your limits. 2-3 days and you will get a grip of it. I even learned a few asana and now i practise on my own. Early morning 45 min meditation Initially it was hard for me to sit around all that time, your knee sleeps but you come through eventually. Delicious vegetarian food. They even offer food for vegan people. Interesting theory about Yoga in the yoga philosophy class. Easy to understand and clear your doubts. The yoga of sound was new to me. I have recorded mantras that I hear and chant along. It brings me peace. The staff is good. They helped me with the luggage even my flight was in the night. Super Ashram Experience. Thank you for everything.

The best yoga teacher training in goa with traditional Indian yogis The reason for selecting swan for a yoga teacher training course was not easy initially considering many yoga places in India trying to grab your attention through their online presence at different platforms. However, after doing more detailed research i found that most of the yoga schools in Goa are managed and taught by foreigners who cater to westerners. After gathering more information, i found that most of the yoga teachers have themselves very limited qualification and experience. Also, i find that quite amusing that why would anybody from the west or outside India would go and learn from a westerner in India, the motherland of yoga, rather than real yogis from India herself. So, my choice was swan for various reasons but the most important was the presence of authentic Indian teachers who were highly qualified with many years of yoga teaching experience. The email exchange with swan was fast and friendly. When i landed at goa airport, i was picked-up (arranged by swan) and that was smooth. Perfect team at swan. My deluxe cottage was very spacious and clean but no luxury and i was not there for luxury. The whole place looked perfect for a yoga teacher training where you listen to the chirping of birds in the morning, in the middle of nature with their own vegetable and herbal garden. i got to know about swan foundation and how they are spreading the right message of yoga and helping many underprivileged around their village. The teacher training started with special chanting of mantra and a fire ceremony for all the participants. i immediately felt connected with a positive feeling. we got to know from the introduction sessions that all the yoga teachers lived within the campus of swan and just not a visiting teacher. swan was a place of sadhna (spiritual practice) for them too. The classes were held from morning till evening with breaks in between. There were different teachers covering various topics of yoga and everyone seemed so natural and compassionate to share this knowledge of yoga with the participants. Each branches of yoga was dealt with detail, be it meditation, asana, pranayama, yoga nidra, history, philosophy, hatha yoga, patanjali yoga sutras, bhagavad gita, tantra, mantra and karma yoga with a special session on yoga and happiness. Friday was weekly off day at swan and we could visit some nice beach and sight seeing was also organised for interested students. The four week passed so quickly but i never felt so rich in my life with the proper and correct understanding of yoga and practice. The vast topics of yoga were covered in a friendly but disciplined manner. The wisdom of all the Indian yogis made me realised how blessed i was to choose swan. The course also had lectures on Ayurveda which was very enriching and the pulse diagnosis with the ayurvedic doctor helped me know my own body constitution in a much better way. The ayurvedic treatments, which was optional, were also done with utmost care by expert therapists. i believe no body can write about swan without mentioning the amazing delightful vegan & vegetarian food we were served each day. Each day was different preparation, freshly prepared and rich in healthy ingredients and taste. they also cater to people with dietary restrictions and everyone enjoyed every single meal. i have been practising yoga for many years but i must admit that what i learnt from this course was never available to me and i can’t thank swan and the teachers enough. i feel i have a much better understating of yoga and it guides me how to live my life in harmony. Some of other students in the course had previously done few yoga teacher training course already, some were yoga teacher themselves but everybody felt that swan teacher training was the best for them. When i compare my life before and after the course, i can say that i made the right choice and i can whole heatedly recommend swan to anyone who wish to learn authentic yoga from traditional Indian yogis.

So grateful for this week at Swan. It has been special in so many ways and really exceeded my expectations. It was an authentic/pure yoga experience, with local traditional indian teachers which really gave me a glimpse of what yoga is about. Practicing meditation, asanas, pranayama, chanting, ceremonies and learn yoga philosophy was really great for my mind, i feel so relaxed and i will definitely bring these pratices in my everyday life. The delicious ayurvedic food (and cooking class) and daily massages have been great for my body. The place itself is really special, you can really feel its energy and everyone working there is really purpose-driven and friendly, i felt taken care of. I really hope I'll have the opportunity to came back next year. Thank you! PS. the entire place is eco-friendly with an ashram style but clean & spacious infrastructure in a natural and peaceful environment. The experience is really pure and authentic so if you expect a luxurious-like retreat i don't recommend this place to you.

I've had a fascinating week with the Swan yoga retreat. Being located in the peaceful green atmosphere with delicious home-cooked meals every day was soothing. Mr.Gyanmitra is a great yoga teacher, and is well-experienced, understands, and accommodates everybody's unique capability. Yoga Philosophy teacher Mr.Shivendra's sessions were eye-opening and gave me a new attitude toward yoga. All his lectures were intriguing. I've taken some of their Ayurvedic treatments, and it was super refreshing. All of their staff members are well-experienced and do a great job. Also had an opportunity to explore some local marketplaces and beaches in Goa. And most importantly I got a chance to get to know some of the most interesting people from all over the world. Thank you so much SWAN for making this happen.

Pretty good place, deep in the mountains and jungle. Different feel but disappointed as they don't have any staff for the welcome nor any staff to attend the waiting guest to bother to ask them for water. Just a feedback.

I stayed at SWAN end of 2018 and the days here, the learnings, changed my life (literally). By getting deeper insights into the philosophy of Yoga in this beautiful nature, with the best teachers, I decided to walk this path myself. I couldn’t be more grateful for everyone here. Plus: the food is just soooo so delicious! Can’t wait to be back! ✨

SWAN is a really special place run by an equally special team. Leave expectations at the door, stay curious and open minded, engage, take it all in, and you’ll leave all the better for it. This was my 2nd visit - as last time, I blended Yoga with Ayurveda (this time Panchakarma), hoping to deepen my awareness, understanding, & experience a little in the time that I had. In practice, your eyes are opened to the Hatha system in its totality - ‘yoga beyond asana’ is one of SWAN’s mottos, and perfectly summarises the experience they’ve created in Assagao. If you’re interested to immerse yourself in all aspects of yoga - including physical, spiritual & philosophical - SWAN is in my mind a perfect destination. The site & environment is beautiful, natural & eco-conscious, the food is delicious, nutritious & varied, the people running the show at all levels deeply knowledgeable, kind, charismatic & inspiring. My 1st Panchakarma experience was also spot-on: I felt very well taken care of by Dr Siddesh & the therapists / practitioners who guided me through the process on a daily basis. A transformational & revitalising experience for me. Grateful to all of the karma yogis at SWAN for playing their part! I’ll be back.

Everything is arranged top-notch, the program is well put together and the staff is very friendly. Food is also great. Areas for improvement would be new beds (which are very hard) and facilitating an online payment system with, for example, a credit card or the like. so you don't have to make international bank transfers with all the hassle and costs that come with it. All in all, definitely recommended if you want to do a yoga retreat in the north of Goa!

We spent 1 week at SWAN and absolutely loved it. My girlfriend and I were both new to yoga however the teachers did an amazing job adapting the classes to our beginner level. We learned a lot. The food was amazing and after spending 1 month in India I could honestly say that it was probably the best food we have had. Would recommend this place to anyone.

We booked a yoga retreat for 1 week and ended staying a weekend longer. If we had the time we would have stayed even longer! What an amazing calm space to clear your mind and the food is delicious + super healthy. Swan teached us a nice day rhythm which we try to keep up now! We really loved how swan went into the yoga philosophy and teached us authentic hatha yoga. Don’t expect the “instagram yoga” but rather a good understanding of yoga and a solid foundation to take home. Don’t get me wrong, the classes will still be challenging. We will come back and would recommend you the same! Namaste 🙏🏽

Visiting swan has been one of my best decisions. It helped me not just connect with nature but also to true me. The spiritual vibe and living atmosphere provided here helps you gain calmness, peace, realisation and satiation. The staff and amenities couldn’t have been any better. During my stay here, I got the opportunity to enjoy and learn the best of asana from the best of teachers. The meditation sessions helped me improve my mental health and be more aware. While staying at Swan I also got to meet some amazing fellows from across the globe who had such wide and fun perspectives to share. Swan is also very close to beach barely 15-20 mins away, allowing you to enjoy it as per your convenience. For any and everyone who is looking out for a calm and peaceful getaway amidst the lush greenery, swan is the place for you!

As a beginner to yoga, I found it challenging, but just the right amount. It was good to understand yoga as a whole because before I thought it was just asana. All of the staff were lovely and possibly the best thing was the food! And that's coming from a meat-eater.

This was my first time in India, I came for a seven day yoga retreat at swan retreat and i had a great experience. Soon after 3-4 days, i felt the change happening in my body and mind. Early morning meditation, perfect yoga classes, amazing food and comfortable beds. I never had such good sleep in a long time. I am a yoga beginner and back home i just practised asana twice a week and here at Swan the teachers told me about the history and philosophy of yoga. Fire ceremony and the singing was too good. Thank you swan teachers for such a spiritual environment. Be back soon!! Love, Tomi

I was at the Swan earlier this year for a Yoga Ayurveda Rejuvenation week and it was one of the most incredible experiences. I came there exhausted and with imbalanced vata. After one week, I got my inner glow back and my energy started to move again. Everything was amazing and I met such an incredible people there. A place for your mind, body and soul nourishment.

The best yoga experience of my life and ayurveda added the extra flavour. I learned so much about yoga and I thought I already knew enough about yoga as a practitioner of yoga for the past seven years. Went for a two week yoga intensive program to challenge and deepen my practice but came back gaining a more meaningful understanding of yoga as a lifestyle and not just a thing to practice. It turned out to be a spiritual and rejuvenating yoga retreat. i also got to know about my dosas, an ayurvedic term, after the consultation with the ayurvedic doctor and that was also very insightful and the massages were great too. I wish to thank the whole team for creating an amazing Swan and creating awareness about the meaning and purpose of yoga combined with a well designed daily schedule. The entire campus is so peaceful, the teachers who come from the same tradition, are very knowledgeable and kind, they have organic vegetation and the food served was so delicious each time. I have promised myself to be back next year for a longer duration and perhaps do a yoga and ayurveda teacher training course.
