Museum a little apart from the circuits that we do in milan. not very far from the Navigli, we were charmed by the interior of the museum. the tables are very well lit and explanatory notes are available near the tables. one out of the 3 exhibitions was chargeable. you have to think about getting your free tickets at the ticket office for the other 2 exhibitions

It just so happened that there was an exhibition of Roy Lichtenstein when we were in town. He is mostly famous for his pop art, but Lichtenstein even made sculptures, cubic prints, 3D-materials and textiles. It was very enjoyable since the exhibition was only attended by not more than 20 people while we were there. We had plenty of time to see each piece without being disturbed by a huge crowd. It's well worth a visit and the entrance to the exhibitions, both permanent and temporary, was really gorgeous designed.

I stopped by here to see the van Gogh exhibit currently taking place. The museum itself is beautiful on the inside! The curves on the main lobby before entering the exhibits are great looking. Very fascinating seeing a quick glimpse of van Gogh on the outside before going to the main exhibit.

This was a wonderful museum to visit - not to mention great Instagram shots of the main stairwell up to the exhibits - but also one that is well-curated and unpretentious. We visited the Mondrian exhibit and the permanent collection which was very well curated considering it is largely about European colonialism. I think this is one of the most thoughtful ways to present on colonialism throughout the world while bearing in mind the trauma, impact, and way forward to a better and more inclusive society. Well done!!!

Cool building and nice exhibition about surrealism. Too bad you need separate tickets for each exhibition, even the permanent collection.

I went to the exhibit of David Lachapelle and it was very nice. The building itself is impressive and breathtaking when you walk up the stairs. The exhibit was interesting and well put together. Loved the gift shop. So many cool things!

I went specifically to see MACHU PICCHU exhibition. It was a great experience and beautiful exhibition. It is only there for a short while I think, but either way, Mudec has a cafe, a shop, toilets and various exhibitions. Worth the visit.

Amazing art center. We were lucky enough to see the temporary exhibition (surrealism) on top of the two other free ones.

Beautiful museum. We went there to see Van Gogh, Rodin, Deloittes photography winner and the standard exhibition. The layout of the museum is great and most of the visit was nice. We used the cafe as well. Van Gogh was really worth the entire visit. Rodin was boring.

Nice arkitekture and the exhibition had an educational, practical layout. It was very expensive internationally to go in for such a small place to visit. Unfortunately, the staff in the ticket office was a bit unfriendly and the high price did not even include a guided hearing aid to be able to hear e.g. English about the objects and paintings.

Wow. One of the best looking museum I’ve ever been to. When I visited there was a temporary exhibition of surrealist art (Magritte, Dalí etc.) very beautifully arranged. Then there is the smaller permanent exhibition of Milanese cultural history, very interesting as well. But the place itself is very neatly arranged in an old industrial building with modern touches.

A nice looking and well organized museum of contemporary arts. Expositions are usually very well curated and entertaining. Attendance is usually not massive and the building features very large spaces which makes your visit more enjoyable. Facilities are clean and curated, including the underground parking (rather expensive but with large slots) and the cafeteria.

Only went to see the permanent exhibition, which was free. There’s a decent range of cultures explored, with explanations in English as well. However, some of the explanations seemed to be written with a colonial perspective in mind, with not much highlighting the damage done to those cultures. There were a few rooms that did incorporate those perspectives from people living there, but that was about it. We spent about an hour there

A neat modern art museum with a niche rotating permanent collection. Not a huge fan of the current exhibit, but will look forward to future exhibits

The entrance to the permanent exhibition is free. It presents inspirations from global cultures in Italian art, a large part is devoted to the times of colonization of Africa. All displays are accompanied by explanations. There are no information brochures.

I went to see the Robert Capa exhibition, stunning! I felt immersed in his life, also with the ticket I was able to see the permanent exhibition of the museum, really interesting, about colonialism and trade in Asia and Africa, something you don’t see very often. Will come back for sure.

I have visited the Disney exhibition in this museum. It was nice but overcrowded after the lunch. The building is very modern, the shops upstairs and, especially, downstairs has some interesting things. For very requested exhibitions you can book your entry also online adding 2 euro, but the places are limited.

Mudec - Museum of Cultures in Milan. A well designed exhibition space in an old factory, a very nice and modern place. 1. Visited the permanent free exhibition The Permanent Collection - dedicated to European colonialism, where I learned about the history of Italy, especially colonialism, and this topic is rarely touched upon anywhere. I think this is one of the most thoughtful ways to present colonialism around the world, taking into account the consequences, the trauma, and the path forward to a better and more inclusive society. 2. The second exhibition that I came to in the same museum by chance, without planning in advance - Vincent van Gogh pittore colto. The museum is modern, but the solution to the exhibition, in this case Van Gogh, was magnificent. A fantastic exhibition with a historical chronology explaining the artistic development of the artist. About 40 exhibited works brought from the Dutch museum. I learned that Van Gogh had a passionate interest in books and reading, and that the artist was also fond of Japan and collected large quantities of Japanese prints, which are also presented at the exhibition. Excellent work by the exhibition curators, delight and gratitude.🫶🏼

I visit museums and art galleries in Milan and an important point for me was the Tina Modotti exhibition but I would love to see the others. Monday is a day when many of these cultural sites are closed. But I did a google check and was glad that MUDEC is open in the afternoon. I drove to the other end of town. Everything is closed deaf. Only the doorman. "On Google? Nah, it's out of date." A reputable museum, modern, presenting contemporary art does not understand its profile on Google? Poor and unprofessional. I do not recommend this team.

I only visited the permanent exhibition which is for free. The architecture is beautiful and that’s worth the visit, the content of the permanent exhibition is interesting. Only I believe they could have work harder in the exhibits. Not enough interaction and quite boring displays. Given the small size of the permanent exhibition they could do much better. Unfortunately I don’t think it is at a European level. Staff is nice, I went with a 1yo and everyone was helpful and access is easy.

Me and a group of my friends went there for a Van Gogh exhibition, paid a full fare and stayed disappointed. Few of the Van Gogh works are showed, the second part of the exhibition decicated to Japan. What disappointed us more, is that paying a full fare fee doesn’t allow you to see the other halls. There were two other halls that we were robbed of, they stayed to buy another ticket. Not doing that, thank you. Would advise visiting another place for the Van Gogh works.

The building and museum are really nice, but during our visit the staff was the issue. When buying the Tickets, we were the only ones in line and after 2-3 minutes I asked the guy if he could kindly stop chatting with his colleague so that we can buy some tickets. He then just asked what we wanted to see without explaining anything. We replied "Chagall" and paid. After that we found out the hard way that there where many different options and we could only enter the specific Chagall exhibition. When we tried to visit another one, we had to interrupt a member of the staff that should have been checking the tickets, from her chat on her phone discussing her dinner plans. She was not interested and just waived us away indicating that we could not get in there... She did not stop talking on her mobile phone for a second... Nice museum and building but check beforehand for ticket options and prices... Horrible staff

This is the 2nd time in the year I’m visiting and the 2nd time I’m rejected at the door. In February they said they didn’t accept visitors past 6pm. So this time I came at 5pm, and was just told at the door that from this September on they close on Mondays. How many times do I have to try MUDEC?

The museum itself is so pretty - the "Dalí, Magritte, Man Ray e il surrealismo" exhibition was also gorgeous. The museum space was adapted for it perfectly! Super cute museum shops too.

Wonderful museum. I was there for the permanent exhibition and the Machu Picchu. The Permenant exhibition is very nice, especially the african part. The Machu Picchu exhibition is just stunning. Its atmosphere is so magical, and i learned a lot about the Inca people, and it fits well for adults the same as for children. The colours, sounds, and feelings are great Btw the stairway to the second floor is beautiful. If you're visiting milan, you should definitely go visit this place!

We've paid 12 euros to see the exhibition of Tina Modotti, thinking the ticket would give the opportunity to visit the entire museum (even because all the information is available in one single website). Big bad surprise: these 12 euros were only for Tina Modotti. It was interesting, but we consider it super expensive. No information was given at the ticket office.

I was wandering around Milan when I stumbled upon this museum. When I came in I immediately realised that I should buy a ticket when I looked at the interior (the stairs that lead to the exhibition). But as it turned out, the museum is free which was a shock to me, as it is extremely unusual for Italy. Well, it was worth it. I learned a lot about Italian history, especially colonialism, and this topic is rarely addressed anywhere. Also the shop and the cafe are really nice

I went to see the Disney collection and found out about this awesome place. The architecture of the building is nice and they organize the most creative, young and modern exhibitions in Milan.

Be sure to ask for a free ticket for the permanent exhibition too.

A great modern museum: spacious, with good light, important exhibitions like that of Chagall, a stylish shop and a place to eat. Air-conditioned, which is important during the summer heat. Recommended.

I often return to Mudec because of their interesting temporary exhibitions: Disney, Chagall, Mondrian, LaChapelle - all of them absolutely worth seeing. The only minus is that the tickets are a bit expensive and that's why I'm giving 4 stars. The permament exhibition, however, is free of charge, so if you don't want to spend money I reccomend visiting at least that one!

The exhibition on robotics focused on the historical development of robots, rather than state of the art. Moreover there was a bias to Italian developments. Maybe this is why the state of the art was not represented well. Robots are everywhere and although they tried to be philosophic at moments, they did not delve into how ubiquitously spread robots are and they did not well discuss what is a robot and Artificial Intelligence in a modern context. I think we are in the midst of a revolution. Robots are not coming they are here. Been used in warfare since Obama. They are flying our plane and can drive our cars, but they are just not humanoid.
