LINCOLN
HOME
NATIONAL
HISTORIC
SITE-
Saturday
was
a
beautiful
day
to
go
on
a
walk
through
Lincolns
old
home
in
Springfield.
This
was
an
interesting
tour.
I
enjoy
putting
the
pieces
of
the
past
together
and
learning
about
how
society
did
things,
then
vs.
now.
What
worked
and
what
didn't.
How
things
worked.
It
is
so
interesting
seeing
the
"progress"
we
have
made.
Some
good
and
some
not
so
necessary..
This
tour
was
free.
The
walk
through
Lincolns
home
was
guided.
It
is
best
to
schedule
your
tour
ahead
of
time.
After
that,
we
were
able
to
walk
through
a
few
other
homes
by
ourselves
and
check
out
the
neighborhood
around
Lincolns
home.
There
is
a
cute
little
garden
and
a
couple
bee
boxes.
I
did
get
bit
a
few
times,
so
make
sure
to
bring
the
bug
spray
or
wear
pants
and
tennis
shoes.
The
parking
is
$2/hour,
but
on
the
weekend,
street
parking
is
free.
Dogs
are
allowed,
just
not
in
the
homes.
Strollers
will
be
left
outside
of
the
homes.
No
food
or
drinks
are
allowed
in
the
homes.
There
is
a
fun
gift
shop
inside
of
the
visitors
center.
So
feel
free
to
leave
with
a
souvenir
of
your
visit.
