Food was absolutely amazing and done to perfection... garlic Naan bread is to die for. I would like to thank Conrad (our waiter) for a fabulous job. He was so polite, very friendly and took the time to answer our questions and explain some of the dishes to us. He definitely deserves recognition. I also noticed that everyone worked together as a team and made my experience well worth it!

Traveling all over the United States, I have yet to find a place that we love this much! •Location Setting• The location is a lower lighted. It consists of booths, tables, and cross-legged seating. We usually pick a booth for the more intimate experience while we enjoy the food, with me making all the noise of enjoying food while eating. •Customer Service• We are always met promptly at the door and seating rather quickly. The staff is always kind and one, in particular, we have grown to love. He always makes it fun for the kids and excellent service. One of the things he says is "Rice Rice Baby" when he delivers the rice, and the kids are just dying for this moment and chant it randomly throughout the week. •Food• SAMOSA (VEGAN) GARLIC NAAN BUTTER CHICKEN (GLUTEN-FREE) LAMB KORMA (GLUTEN-FREE) BAIGAN BHARTHA (VEGAN, GLUTEN-FREE) CHICKEN SIZZLER (GLUTEN-FREE) Man, those kids can eat a lot now! Everything was fantastic once again. The food is cooked to perfection, steaming hot. If you want to see what a real Tandoori chicken is like, try it out here and have your mind blown away. I love that they have such a high standard of food service. If you love spicy food, start with a medium heat unless you are well versed in Indian spices. I enjoy the Medium for some dishes and hot for others. To keep it easy for the family, we usually do most of it mild with one spicier dish. It's always a good idea when first trying Indian food for the first time to get it as mild as possible, or at least one dish mild. Unless you have loved spicy food your entire life, then have at it and let me know what you thought about the spicier level ;). If you ever have a chance to get the buffet, I highly recommend it. This was my first experience with this cuisine. Not only was it great dining but a history & culture lesson. The waitress was so helpful and patient with our choices. The atmosphere was enjoyable because of design details, music playing and cleanliness of restaurant.

Courteous and prompts wait staff - including one who told us a really cute joke that we LOVED - and the food was delicious in great proportions. The spices in everything especially my lamb / in my curry were fantastic and I enjoyed everything from that to the naan, the samosa, to even the rice on its own. I 1000% (yes, thousand percent!) recommend going. Besides, their tabletops are beautiful. ❤️

Well, I've found my favorite Indian food in CR! Taste of India was outstanding, and I've been wanting to back every day since. I like to start with familiar comfort foods for my first visit, so we got the Lamb Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan, and some Lassi. Every dish was delicious and hands down the best naan I've had. I asked for my Tikkas spicy and boy did they deliver. VERY glad I got the lassi to cool down! Can't wait to come back for other dishes and their lunch specials! EDIT: Came back to try the Lamb Biryani, Chicken Curry, Kadai, and Gulab Juman and man does this place not miss. Every dish was packed with flavor, and you MUST end your meal with some Gulab Juman. I could have eaten a dozen of these soaked milk dumplings. The service is also incredible; they make you feel like you have three waiters at one time. Thanks for another great experience!

Delicious food. Best Indian food I have ever had. I highly recommend the Butter Chicken. Any dish they make, you can get it mild, medium, or hot for spiciness. If you are not used to spicy hot, get the mild. It is already spicy. If you like things spicy hot, this will not disappoint you. The one thing you need to be careful for are the chairs. They are very wobbly and need either fixed or replaced. I was worried about my chair breaking the whole time I was there. The food is well worth it, though. Staff is efficient but not the friendliest I have ever had. It may be due to a language barrier. All in all, I highly recommend this place.

Best Indian food in the Cedar Rapids area. Service is great and the atmosphere is excellent. Highly recommended for authentic Indian cuisine!

My fiance and I visited here recently and came away impressed. We each ordered a mango lasse (very tasty) and shrimp biriyani (good flavor, authentic taste) with the right amount of spice for us. We also ordered an appetizer and dessert. Both were good. Waiters were solid. The best part was I felt like the prices were fair. Will be back.

If you are ever have a hankering for Indian food I usually choose this one. Price is right and dishes are simple. Atmosphere is more dim to try to keep a more relaxed environment. Some of the staff can be a hit or miss. Sometimes they check too frequently making you less comfortable at times.

This place is FANTASTIC! Got the recommendation from a friend very familiar with Indian food, and he said this is the best in the area, including Iowa City. You really can’t beat the lunch special (although it’s a limited selection of entrees). Great food at a great price. My favorite was the butter chicken. The naan is also very good here, even the plain naan. 10/10!

Lunch buffet was decent. About 10 different entree with both meat and vegetable options. Nothing really stood out, a few chicken dishes, naan, biryani, and vegetables. No seafood or lamb options. Very pricy for the lunch buffet tho. The Kheer was really good! Also, if you have a party of more than 7, they’ll seat you at a traditional but uncomfortable table. Gotta cross your legs while you eat.

I don’t know what’s going on lately, but you’ve raised the prices multiple times in just the last 6 months, and I am super disappointed. I have been eating here for years, always get the same exact thing and the total was always $27. In just the last 6 months my cost went from $27, to $29, to $34, and now $39! Now my total, for the same exact meal is almost $40... ridiculous! Not happy. Please stop with the constant price raises. :( Also, I don’t know if there is new management or what, but the turnover in waitresses is crazy. I honestly don’t know a single person that works there anymore, and I used to know almost everyone. I miss your old workers! They used to know me and my order by heart, and greet me very kindly at the door. Not anymore! I don’t get treated like a regular anymore, it’s a shame. Other than those two terrible things, the food is still the same, and it’s spectacular, so coming from someone who eats here a lot, take it as it is...

I enjoyed their vegan options which are clearly marked on their menu. Specifically, I enjoyed the Gobi Manchurian, the fried eggplant, and the Aloo Mutter. The service was incredible; there was constantly someone checking on my table to make sure we had water and the food came out nice and quick!

Food was absolutely delicious. I feel that the rice portions could be larger. Definitely not enough rice for our curries. They were happy to bring more, but we did incur an additional charge. Service was fast. Food was fast. Restaurant atmosphere: although some parts are well-worn (seat cushions), the restaurant was clean.

A++++ From the moment we entered until we left it was an amazing dining.experience. We were seated immediately. We had 5 different servers coming by checking on us and offering help in any way. The food was terrific. Prices very reasonable. Go by and treat yourself!

Service was incredibly slow. We were given a lunch option of 4 different dishes. I can only assume this was all made ahead of time and simply dishes in the bento box and then served. It took almost 40 minutes to get our food. Food was tasty and hot, but the service will hinder my decision to come back. Especially since there are other top notch choices in town.

I always enjoy the food here. They understand that not everyone wants to feel the burn. Mild is mild, medium has some kick and ...well, I'll never know beyond that. Service could be a little better, they really don't come back to check on tables until it's time to get the check. I believe Sodas are from a can so no free refills.

BHUNA CHICKEN (GLUTEN FREE) 7/10 nice creamy texture Boneless Chicken Thigh marinated with spices and slow cooked with Tomatoes, Onions, Ginger, Garlic, and Yogurt. CHILI GARLIC NAAN Traditional leavened bread topped with Green Chili, Garlic & Cilantro baked in clay oven. 10/10 crispy and flavorful. Perfect level of spicy VEGETABLE PAKORA (VEGAN,GLUTEN FREE) Mixed vegetable fritters, served with Tamarind & Cilantro sauce. 10/10 The tamarind sauce is delicious paired with these crispy veggies ALOO PAKORA (VEGAN,GLUTEN FREE) Deep fried sliced potato dipped in house special batter, served with Tamarind & Cilantro sauce 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy.

Good ambiance, food selection, taste and location. Service was decent however could be improved. Paneer and Daal taste was authentic. “Medium spice level” is Indian hot e.g. may be too spicy for some.

The food was wonderful. We all had curry dishes, chicken, lamb and fish. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The Naan bread is great with a meal to soak up the curry sauce. The seasoned rice is a freshly prepared and a complement to the entrees. The appetizers were good too.

Had the butter chicken and vegetable makhni. Tried the chicken korma today and it very good too.

The wait staff was very nice and the food was delicious. The only reason they’re aren’t getting 5 stars is that was quite a long wait, but the food was worth it. If you want amazing Indian food and you don’t mind waiting, this place is worth a try.

Very friendly and helpful service. Had a great talk about the TV show Stranger Things. The two host helping upfront are great representatives for your business. I will be back and the food was very flavorful.

Whoever the man is that brings the food to the tables is an incredible person. He has so much fun and you can tell he genuinely enjoys his job, which is rare to find in the restaurant business at the moment. He was friendly, conversational, and greeted everyone with a smile. This restaurant has an excellent atmosphere, expansive menu, and welcoming staff all around. I’ve been before, and I’ll be continuing to return. They are worth your time and business!

Everything is always super good here whether you're dining in or taking out, great vegetarian options too! I got the paneer tikka masala today (in the picture), the paneer is great (it's soft cheese that's been fried in the tandoori oven) would highly recommend anything with it

Indian food is somewhat rare in Iowa. Meanwhile, this place sets the bar high for every state. Excellent and attentive service, some of the best authentic recipes I've ever tried, and terrific prices. I drive an hour to go here and never regret it.

I have had good experiences with the food here until 2021. Was very authentic and sufficiently quantitative. However, I have experienced unreasonable degradation in the quality of their food since the start of 2022. The quantity has gone down as well plus little more expensive. Also, they don’t care about the spice level despite of asking to make mild or medium spicy. When we open the box at home and taste it, we have to trash it with tears.

This place used to be really good. 3 stars only Because the food is so good. Since the change in ownership 8 months ago I have had so many errors in my take out orders. In addition the last time I pointed out the mistake (always check before you leave) the gentlemen at the front seemed generally irritated that I would say something and in addition. When he came back with the rest of the order he basically tossed it to me a dripping with attitude.
