Honestly the best Indian place I ordered from in a while. I had the butter chicken and my boyfriend had chicken curry and It was amazing. Their naan is fantastic! I was surprised to see the dining area almost empty when I went, maybe people just don't know about this place?! Anyways I 100% recommend ordering from them!

Love to see Bangladeshi brother serving halal for his community. Brother Ahsan is lovely guy. I was overwhelmed with his hospitality. His tea is real chai from Bangladesh. I took their chicken, mutton and lamb Biriyani as well. You can try on the way back and forth through I80.

In the mood for Indian food? This is the place to go! They're great because they ask your spice tolerance every time, regardless if you've been there before. If you're accustomed to spice I think the 8 or 9 with curries would be pretty spicy. If you're looking for a very mild spice 5 or 6 is a good place to start. I highly recommend getting naan(bread) with any sort of curry dish from here and dipping it in said curry. I usually go with the onion kulcha or the garlic naan. Sidenote: The rice refills are free. Sharing dishes here is also easy to do here, in case you want to try someone else's.

Nice selection of Indian food! Would have expected a bit of spicy flavor to it!

Ordered delivery through DD. The food was pretty good, except the merchant put my mango shake inside the bag of hot food so it was pure liquid and warm. I'd suggest not doing that anymore..

India Cafe did great job catering my event for 80 people. Foods were very delicious and carefully cooked. I got lot of compliments from my guests. They went extra mile to meet my demands. I highly recommend them for small and large orders.

Really enjoyed coming here. It's small but the food was good and it's close to the school. I stopped by both days that I was here. Recommend.

It is ok, but I won't praise it. Pakoras were supposed to be fried to crispy but all soft as they were put in steamy buffet trays. Naans were serviceable but also did not look exciting. Standard dishes like curry and tikka masala were alright as well. Lamb was the only dish I enjoyed. Place was clean, and owner was pretty chill.

I was visiting some cities in Iowa and I stopped for lunch. They have daily buffet with halal food, 12.99. The buffet was good considering small town restaurant. They had some veg, chicken and beef items. The owner was very friendly. It was not very crowded. There is no free parking nearby as it is a college town and the restaurant is at the center of downtown. Overall recommended considering a small college town restaurant but there are some scops of improvement regarding food quality.

Food was buffet food but not bad and the service was good. Atmosphere was very quiet and subdued - almost like eating at a library.

Has the best lunch buffet in Iowa City. Try their chicken tikka masala with dal or their tandoori chicken with naan. For dinner, try their biryanis.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at India Cafe and I must say, the food was absolutely outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the spice levels were perfectly balanced. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a five-star dining experience.

Quite light on the Indian seasonings, I would say it’s a bit watered down/Americanized. The pakora is battered and fried broccoli florets, cauliflower florets, and potato chunks. Tandoori chicken was juicy, however, lacked the flavored, and butter chicken was acidic and average tasting.

samosas were greasy. Grease running out of them. Very little flavor to the other dishes. quite disappointed as I love Indian food.

Ordered delivery - garlic naan and spicy lamb curry. Hands down - the best I have ever had! Super soft naan, just the right amount of char. They asked how spicy I wanted my curry - I asked for 8/10 - they nailed it (I like my food REALLY spicy, so I would probably rate this a comparative 6). There was plenty of lamb in the curry - they didn't skimp. Delivery was quick, and the temperature was still very hot when I received it. There was nothing to complain about about my order. If you haven't eaten here you are wrong. Keep up the great work!!!

we ordered food from here. The rice was definitely not fresh at all. The lamb tikka masala was not hard. We ordered 2 meals from here and they only gave us one container of rice with them. Food quality is bad overall, and the it’s not fresh.

After sitting for 5min while waiter prepped 2 tables with only 1 other customer in the whole place, I had to ask if the buffet was the only option today. He asked if we were dinning in as if we had nothing else to do that day but to hang out in a booth. He then realized that some of us like to look at menus and provided a couple for us to check out. The food had somebody's hair in it and chicken was dry. At check out, the register read $25.72; when asking about our change after paying cash, he said he entered it wrong and it came out to be $26 even with tax...yeah right. I'm sure 28 cents or so off of each customer adds up day by day, it's clear what the priorities are with this place, lesson learned 🙄

This samosa I got from there looks and test like made out of leftovers food. Don't even deserve 1 star. I suggest every one to try Haveli restaurant in Coralville.

Very disappointed. Food was cold and tasted like it was leftover that was warmed up. Very stale, very spicy but no flavor.
