Our journey to that place will be one of our bests adventures in the Jordan, o maybe even in our lives. It's really hard to describe how awesome it was. No tourists, just us and the local people you can meet. It's possible to drive near the castle however it can be problematic for weaker cars. But it don't has to have 4x4. The simple car can do it as well. The view is just amazing. We have met a local person who was taking care of its lambs and goats. He show us the way to the castle and makes us some delicious tea at the summit.

Despite its extreme location, many archaeological remains and textual sources bear witness to the importance of Sela in different periods. The surface pottery has revealed a long occupation of the settlement from the Iron Age, Nabatean, Ayyubid/Mamluk, and Late Islamic/Ottoman periods. It’s a long climb up but the view is very nice, there are stairs to the way up.

Awesome spot deserves to hike up to see. Hiking up wasn't easy, it takes time and rest from time to time. I did it and shot my ama5 blue lines. It's now visible to the world and to those can't reach it .

Love this place, hidden jewel off the beaten track, getting there isn't easy still you can do it in a small front wheel drive vehicle, the hike to the top takes less than an hour and there are some amazing scenery around, spring and fall are best times for the visit, there are no entry fees or specific working hours

For the adventurous travel. A hidden gem with an amazing history. Compared to other sites in Jordan maybe not to much to see but the nature and the hike is well worth it

It is impressive, but quite challenging to reach. But it worh! They took advantage of existing rocks and it is quite invisible from below. But do not go near edges and always look your step ant take care to have a good grip. You can start from the parking lot (Yes, there IS a parking lot, but the last 2-3 km to it are on a single lane road with traffic in both directions) going around the big rock that has a small cave and soon you will find modern stairs (rocks and concrete), sometimes mixed with ancient ones (cut in the rock).

Ruins of Babylon time castle. Can see caves, sacred altar, water tanks and ceramic pipe systems. Also graves and bridge shaped as lion head with teeth.

Civilizations of the ancient world advised a lot of water and good dress to enter the monuments and the castle you have to walk about an hour up and down there is only one entrance to the castle and landmarks

A gem from the ancient times. Although there is not much to see from the old Babylonic settlement it is worth to hike to the top because of the amazing view
