Just really awesome! I was only in Athens for a week but my lessons were my favorite part of my trip. I'm Greek and my family is from Greece (but I was never taught to speak) and so it's really important to me to be able to speak properly and what really made me so happy was that they wanted to know a little about me and why it was important to me. The lessons were very professional and took into account what I already knew...it was so helpful and everyone there felt like friends. I definitely recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn Greek in a professional but very friendly atmosphere. I'll be going back as soon as I can.

I just finished a two week course on the beautiful island of Syros, attending a Greek language course with Omilo. They are a very professional team of teachers and organizers who offer the perfect mix of Greek language instruction and culture. If you are in love with Greece and want to learn how to communicate in Greek with interesting fun people from all over the world who share your passion, this is your course. During class the teachers helped me to overcome my fear of speaking, and afterwards we enjoyed the beach and the sea, and had lots of excellent food in great company! I highly recommend this school!

Can't speak highly enough of OMILO. I have been to many Greek language schools in Greece but there is no comparison. The teachers are non plus ultra, highly skilled, knowledgeable, endlessly patient and fun. Learning Greek is not easy but they make the process hugely enjoyable and you can choose between varied locations for taking your course. All levels are available from zero to advanced. And other (cultural) activities are organised with no pressure whatsoever to participate but, of course, we all do because they are wonderful. The learning curve is always vertical in the most delightful way!!

excellent and truly easy to learn from the audio stories and written materials. I listen every day at home at a time suitable for me, I listen in the car too. the reading of the stories by the Omilo team is so well done and is critical to learning new words in context and the correct pronunciation. Well done, keep the stories coming.

OMILO EASY GREEK PODCAST SERIES I had an extremely hectic day today, just around all day without any sense of accomplishment. I had a good 20 minutes to relax a bit before I get home from work. Walking home is always a refreshing activity for me, especially after a stressful day. However today I longed for something that could provide a sense of achievement. I put on my headphones, opened Spotify and clicked on the Easy Greek Stories. This will work. Learning Greek, my favourite language, always cheers me up. I found this podcast a couple of month ago. Although Greek is not as popular as French or Spanish, there are quite a few podcasts available for Greek learners. Before finding the Easy Greek Stories, I tried several similar podcasts, but I none of them were the right level, I am at intermediate level, and I was looking for something, that I can understand but still learn new words, expressions while listening. The Easy Greek Stories offer exactly what I wanted. The stories are easy to follow, they are read at two different speeds, first slowly, then at the normal pace, the way Greek people talk among themselves. The histories are straightforward but entertaining, they all have a personal touch in them, as if a Greek friend would talk to you about their life. They always include a bit of extra knowledge about Greek food, customs, traditions and culture. The tricky words are repeated at the end of the story, so I can effortlessly practise the pronunciations. I was able to buy the textbook from the Omilo Language School’s website, who produced these fantastic podcasts. You can simply use the podcasts without the textbook but I found them very useful: a great resource for my Greek studies. These podcasts have become a part of my life, if I don’t have time to have a proper Greek lesson, I just listen to one of them. I can listen to them while walking, cooking, ironing or while having a cup of tea in the afternoon. If I have more time, I can use the textbook to learn the new words, complete a couple of exercises and read the text to check my comprehension. I cannot recommend the Easy Greek Stories enough, especially for intermediate (A2, B1 and B2) learners. Every time I listened to them, they take me back to Greece, the readings are so good, that the stories come alive. They are very well structured, carefully written with lots of extra information. They are free on Spotify and the textbooks are exceptionally great value for money. Highly recommended! Thank you OMILO for supporting my Greek learning journey with such an excellent asset!

I attended the Omilo course in Lefkada in May this year. It was a great experience to improve my Greek and have a holiday at the same time. The hotel we stayed in was about two minutes from the beach so a great location. I really enjoyed the classes. We had two teachers everyday and my group had three hours of teaching in total per day. The teachers Eva and Myrto were very enthusiastic and engaging and I definitely feel that my Greek has improved. In the evenings, the hosts Maya and Dimitris would put on various activities e.g. Greek dancing, visiting another beach, watching a film etc. It was a good opportunity to meet people from all over the world with a common interest in the Greek language. Thank you so much to the Omilo team! I hope to book another Omilo Course in the near future.

My experience of Omilo in Nafplion was one that I’ll always remember. The week was well organised and the Omilo team were extremely professional, the teaching was excellent and all the lessons were interesting and fun. From the very first lesson I was able to relax and with encouragement from my teachers my confidence increased daily. To participate in an Omilo course is to be involved in something quite special. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone who attended and felt that my level of Greek had improved by the end of the week. I will definitely book another course and I look forward to returning to Nafplion soon, as it’s a beautiful city. Thank you to all of the Omilo team, Best wishes, Lisa, UK, Nafplion 2022

Many things can be said about Omilo. Most of those who have done a course here will agree teaching standards are high, that the owners realize that following a course should also be fun, and that it is helpful if lessons not only concentrate on the greek language, but also on greek culture. In September of last year I was lucky enough, after a 19-year hiatus, to have classes with lovely Marina, who even with one arm was still up there with the best of them (I hope the arm has healed nicely and completely by now). There was also Eva, who in many ways is the successor of Dora, which is high praise indeed. And I'm not even mentioning the people who are the driving force behind it all. But it should not be forgotten the Omilo project is not only about languages and enjoyment, it is also about love, because it is run and staffed by loving and caring people. That's why so many of us are repeat offenders (with some coming back more than 10 times). I hope they will stay in business for many years to come! The good thing about Syros (where some of the courses take place) is that you most likely will go via Athens. If you do, it is highly recommended to spend some time there: in little more than a week, I was able to attend concerts of top stars like Yiannis Parios, Manolis Mitsias and Eleonora Zouganelli, and that is only the musical side. What a city! Didier, Belgium, 5 courses (and counting).

Omilo Greek Language and Culture is just amazing! So lovely and competent teachers, I learnt a lot in the small classes (especially talking!) and I also liked the culture programs in the evenings very much! Syros Island is very beautiful and I had a very nice time with the other students. I definintely will take other classes with Omilo in the future!

Since a few years my study-buddy and I practice Greek together via Skype. Now that we have reached a certain level in grammar, reading, writing and speaking, we find it important to make listening a spearhead. Because listening and understanding what is being said is the most difficult thing in a foreign language. But we want to practice in a fun way. Omilo's Podcasts offer us that opportunity. They are fun stories, to listen to at different speeds. The stories are spoken by professional native speaker in a very nice way, so nice to listen to, and the exercises in the Notebook give us the depth we need. In addition, we also have a lot of fun with Figame sta ellinika. Fun listening exercises and varied challenging assignments. This keeps us motivated to keep improving our Greek. Thank you, Omilo!

I had a fantastic experience at the Omilo Athens class! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the teachers are very skilled, and the lessons are structured so that you never get bored -- lots of active engagement and variety, breaks, and flexibility to work on what students need. The school also plans outings -- meals, tours, etc., led by the staff and really well organized. Ελπίζω να επιστρέψω σύντομα!

I would like to share how much I love your materials! Really and truly, I learn so much from them. Sometimes I'm too quick to read them once and move on, when I should stick with one story longer, practicing it longer. I have just about everything from your site. I really enjoyed the easy short story #12, about Φάνης και Ντίλαν. It made me laugh. You stories are more interesting than any of this type available online. From them, I get not only practice in Greek, but insight into how people interact in Greece. Customs, norms, etc. Frequently, the story will be about a person who is not from Greece, mixing with the locals. Interesting and humorous discoveries are made! I am inspired to visit specific places such as Maroussi, Navplio, and others by the stories and additional info, maps, videos and links to area culture. Thank you for all the work you all do to help us learn the beloved Greek language! You are very good at what you do!

I recently purchased the Easy Greek Stories Podcast. I am an intermediate level student and these stories are just at the right level for me. I understand quite a bit of the text but they also challenge me to learn more. I listen to the podcast whilst looking at the Greek text. It really helps me with the pronunciation of words as well as expanding my vocabulary more. Another feature I really like is that the podcast narrates the whole story slowly first then repeats it at a faster pace. I highly recommend these podcasts and accompanying texts.

I did a summer course in Syros last August and it helped me a lot in order to gain fluency (my Greek is at an intermediate/advanced level). Not only were the classes both fun (each and every teacher has a great sense of humour) and interesting (forget about the usual food/weather/weekend plans talks), but you could also feel the effort that they put into the evening activities! I believe that they are the best choice for any intermediate/advanced greek learner out there: just take a look at both their blog and their podcasts and see for yourself! Of course, this is also true for beginners: I wish I had them from the start...I would have reached my current level in half the time! I think that their classes are the perfect mix of new vocabulary/grammar/speaking activities as well as an invaluable way to learn more about Greek culture. I’m looking forward to next summer! Χαιρετίσματα από τη Μαδρίτη!

Thank you Omilo for such a beautiful week in Nafplio! Nafplio is such a special, beautiful, place. To be there at Easter was very special and magical, especially on Good Friday and Easter Saturday when we all gathered and walked with our candles through the town to honor Epitaphs. I've never had an Easter like this and will never forget it. Omilo are very good at bringing people together. I met some lovely fellow students. The Easter celebrations were at the end of the week, so it was especially lovely to enjoy the celebrations with new friends. The classes were excellent. The teachers are very professional and a lot of fun. The whole Omilo team are very warm and very welcoming. They make sure that everything is so beautifuly arranged and presented. This is my second holiday with them and it won't be my last! It was a real gift to spend this time in Nafplio, and I feel my Greek language has improved a lot, especially in confidence and listening skills. If you love Greece, the Greek culture and language - I thoroughly recommend a holiday with Omilo!

Wonderful school! Perfect combination of serious language work and culture immersion. I have been with Omilo twice now (a two week and a one week course). The owners and the teachers are exceptional as people and as teaching professionals. The mix of grammar and communication enables you put what you have learnt to practice and provides for different learning styles. The culture programme shows you the real Greece from unexpected angles in all its variety. I am so grateful for their professionalism and humanity 🙏🏻

Good evening to all fans of Omilo, the best Greek language and culture class in Greece (not that I have tried others, but after several years with Omilo, I see no need! ☺️). I have an idea that I would like to share with you: I know many of us are worried that we may not be able to go to Greece for this year's classes (although we can of course still hope), and here's my suggestion: For courses that cannot be held in Greece, I hope Omilo will organise equivalent courses online, and I encourage all Omilo fans to sign up to them and pay the same course fee as we would if we could go to Greece. Let's continue to learn Greek, do all we can to support our beloved Omilo and look forward to going back to Greece as soon as possible! <3

I finally made it to Omilo-Athens in October/November for the 2 week course, due to the uncertainty caused by covid. Not knowing what to expect, I was so very impressed with the set up, the structure of the Omilo courses, the teachers, and the time and effort the whole team took, to enable us have a great time, at the same time as learning. All of the teachers are extremely professional, nothing is ever too much, their enthusiasm and knowledge is endless, every question you could possibly ask is answered with grace and you are never made to feel like you have asked a silly question. I definitely  recommend Omilo .X

My OMILO experience was so much fun! In 2018 I took the one week course on Syros and learned so much and felt so inspired that I returned in 2019 and did the full two week course -- highly recommended! The teachers are thoroughly qualified, very patient, supportive, and adaptable, meeting you wherever you are in your Greek learning curve. The other students are a fascinating mix from all over the world, many of them returning year after year, which is the best possible testimonial about the quality of the OMILO program. As a teacher myself, I am a huge fan of good teaching. The four-hour per day instructional format with casual, optional activities on many evenings was perfect. You get an immersive, intensive brain-full of Greek in class, then practice your conversational skills while relaxing in a beachside taverna in the quiet village of Azolimnos. Or take an easy 10 minute bus ride into Hermoupoli, the charming regional capital, where you can stroll through marble-paved streets and chat in Greek with the locals. My slow, mistake-filled efforts were greeted by appreciative smiles, as waiters and shopkeepers became enthusiastic on-the-spot tutors, excited by my interest in learning their beautiful language. Everyone at OMILO, students, teachers, and staff, is extremely friendly, and I think that's because they're all just so happy to be there :)
