A
traditionally
styled
lodge
off
Mombasa
Road
next
to
Small
World.
Its
located
within
the
The
Swara
Plains
Wildlife
Conservancy.
It's
easy
to
get
lost
if
you
follow
Google
Maps.
So
just
try
and
locate
Small
World
and
then
call
the
lodge
or
ask
for
directions
from
Small
World.
The
turning
off
Mombasa
road
is
very
steep
and
challenging
to
exit.
The
road
to
the
lodge
itself
is
okay
and
any
vehicle
can
pass
it
during
rainy
or
dry
weather
season.
There's
an
abundance
of
wildlife
at
the
Conservancy
such
as
Wilderbeest,
Ostrich,
Antelopes,
Warthogs,
Zebra
among
others.
Be
sure
to
practice
general
wildlife
park
safety
measures.
The
lodge
welcomes
you
with
an
inviting
and
majestic
entrance
that
flows
into
a
courtyard
with
a
variety
of
gaming
options
(football,
volleyball,trampoline,
pool,
table
tennis,
darts,
archery,
bicycle
riding,
and
more)
curio
shop
and
restaurant.
Some
of
the
games
are
free
as
a
complimentary
if
you
take
a
meal
at
the
restaurant.
There's
a
pool,
but
it's
very
small.
You
can
enjoy
a
bonfire
in
the
evenings
at
their
fire
pit.
Conference
facilities
are
available
for
those
travelling
for
business
purposes.
They
have
several
accommodation
facilities
and
a
bar
area.
The
accommodation
cabins
are
quite
basic
and
built
in
a
very
cheap
manner
with
thatched
roofs
and
wood
finishings.
It's
best
suited
for
the
traveller
not
looking
for
luxury.
The
place
is
quite
dry
in
September
/
October
and
can
get
windy
because
it
is
located
on
a
flat
plain
though
well
wooded
with
surrounding
acacia
trees.
Remember
to
carry
some
warm
clothes.
Food
is
well
done,
however
the
menu
has
no
prices
which
is
quite
odd.
You
have
to
consult
the
waiter
on
pricing.
Their
meals
are
priced
at
KES
2,100
for
residents
for
a
3
course
meal.
If
you
want
other
options
consult
your
waiter.
There's
meat
barbecue
options
on
weekends
too
but
you
have
to
ask
the
waiters
for
details.
The
drinks
menu
though,
has
prices.
It
is
a
small
facility.
Staff
are
nice
and
friendly.
The
sunsets
are
spectacular.
You
can
enjoy
a
game
drive
with
a
guide
at
only
KES
1,000
if
you
use
your
own
vehicle.
Be
careful
when
leaving
especially
in
the
evenings
because
the
directional
signage
faces
visitors
who
are
arriving
at
the
facility
and
it
doesn't
face
those
leaving
the
facility.
There's
a
chance
you
could
get
lost
if
you're
leaving
in
the
dark.
