Beautiful fort complex. Must visit place. There is a nominal entree fee to see the fort. Once you are inside there will be a guide who will explain everything about the fort, history and all the systems they had back then. Use of all the spaces. The fort is under renovation so you will see many things restored and some are in the process. Beautiful old painting styles. Beautiful architecture. Great rain water harvesting system back then! Also it is not crowded. So you can see it without any disturbance. It’s quiet and peaceful place.

36 acres, the fort was in a state of neglect till the 1980s. In 1985 the fort was placed in the care of the Mehrangarh Museum Trust. The fort has gradually been restored to its former glory with the support of four grants from the Getty Foundation, two from the UK-based Helen Hamlyn Trust and contributions from the Mehrangarh Museum Trust. The Palaces and historic spaces display period furniture, objects and an amazing group of wall paintings. In 2002 the Fort of Nagaur won the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for Culture Heritage Conservation. It was also shortlisted for the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2011-2013. The Nagaur Fort hosts the World Sacred Spirit Festival every year

Ahhichatragarh Fort is vast and clean as managed by Mehrangarh Trust. Car is allowed to go in fort. Inside parking is better and cheap compared to outside parking. Guards cum Guides are soft spoken and helping. Really good with old touch and peaceful fort. Fort’s speciality is its Rain Water Harvesting and Cooling by Air and Water even in Old Times. Don’t expect too much as compare to Mehrangarh Fort. Nagaur City is a great disappointment. Sufi music festival is organised every year. By visiting this fort, you will take a long walk and spend quality time with your loved ones.

Great! fort, but because it is a private property and for some reason it is the most low maintained fort I've ever seen.May be because of some family issues they are just paying attention to Mehrangarh fort's development .They even took almost all of the heritage stuff to Jodhpur, and the little bit they left here is extremely low maintained even they haven't made show cases for the heritage things and left them to decompose into the soil, even King's (Rao Amar Singh Rathore) potrait isn't show cased..So I am making a humble request"Please Pay attention to this fort too this place have potential of being a world heritage site".

Nagaur Fort is one of the best hidden gems in the City of Naguaur in the Jodhpur Bikaner Highway. The Kings Chanbers in the palace right in the centre of the fort is worth a visit. It would take approximately 2 to 3 hours to see the Palace and take a guided tour. There are options to stay in the palace as well. The best part of the fort is that even though it's in the centre of the city of Nagaur, it's very quiet inside the palace with almost no honking and distractions. The fort overall needs more restoration work, but the palace is a must visit.

Visited this majestic and beautiful fort palace in 2019. The name Nagaur stems from "Nag" meaning snake. The fort is said to be built by the descendants of the nagvanshi kshatriyas. The fort was conquered many times and the ownership passed on to several kingdoms. Ultimately the fort was reclaimed by the royal rulers of Mewar and now is under the Mehrangarh Trust. Nagaur Fort is among the most beautiful forts we ever visited. The efforts they have taken to restore the fort interiors with natural materials is noteworthy. The palace displays genius architecture of the ancient times including Persian water bath, underground fountain in an arid region and cooling systems, among a few. Haadi rani mahal, Abha Mahal, Deepak mahal, open fountain area and the gazebos are among the most striking structures of this huge fort. A part of the fort has converted into a luxurious heritage hotel. In spite of the maintenance and the efforts to keep it alive, the entry fee isn't high, unlike the Mehrangarh Fort of Jodhpur. Generally, you don't need a guide within the premises, but we did hire one, who was a staff member of the fort administration and showed us places that were closed to public. Do add this under rate gem to your travel itinerary if you are around Jodhpur or Bikaner. You will fall in love with history.

The fort is getting restored by various art institutions. You’ll find beautiful architecture with amazing paintings. There are tour guide available, you can opt for that. The place is good to visit during winters. The mechanism of water conservation during that era is fabulous. As Rajasthan is very less prone to water, there the architects of that time has profoundly use the local material to keep the place cool and conserving water
