We love our primary care provider and the staff in the clinic. However, I recently brought my minor son to the ER for what I considered an emergency situation regarding mental health. Dr. John Woods was not compassionate to the situation at all. He informed me the ER is for "true emergencies" and I was tying up his emergency room and making my problems his problem. He was rude and he made the whole situation 10x worse for my son and I. When it comes to the health and safety of our children we should always be welcome in the ER. Even if we are being "hypervigiliant" I think it's better to be safe than sorry. It makes people less apt to seek medical attention for mental disorders when they are treated like this. I understand North Caddo doesn't have a "mental facility" and I in no way was asking for him to be admitted there. I was simply asking for help to get him in patient care. I will do everything in my power to never use this emergency room again. Every time we have it has been a bad experience. I will say the nurse we had was pleasant and I appreciated her kindness. Mental health is just important as physical health. He has no compassion for kids suffering from this and his attitude is awful. He seems to have a very arrogant attitude, looks down at people and thinks mental illness is a made up disease. I would never recommend taking your family members here to the ER. It's sad to think this man is "Chief of Staff". He shouldn't be a doctor with this mentality. His behavior was unprofessional, unacceptable and undermines ERs as a safe place for mental health emergencies. This is the reason many kids with mental disorders get no help until something bad happens.

Doctor John Woods is the worse doctor I’ve ever encountered. Doesn’t care about kids. No manners and a bad attitude. Definitely reporting him to the Medical Board for his rude behavior and lack of professionalism. We waited for a while and finally got into a room. The rooms have tv’s with no remotes. He walked in and pulled the cord out the wall to turn the tv off. Very rude guy and seems to dislike his job. He stayed for 4 minutes and didn’t give the kids any medicine. Both kids are sick and only 1 gets tested. RSV and flu have been going around and apparently they must be trying to save on test since they would only test 1 child. I would rate them 1/2 star if I could.

I love this hospital! I understand that it is a small-town critical-access hospital, so they can't do everything, but I know that they give better patient care than any of the hospitals around, and the nurses and staff truly care!

In May while visiting relatives in Louisiana, (I live in California) I became very ill with some sort of stomach virus. Couldn’t keep any food down for the entire time I was there, finally a family member took me to North Caddo Medical Center. From the time that I entered the facility every staff person that I came in contact with were very professional, accommodating and showed genuine concern. The wait time was excellent, far faster than my home state (I was totally impressed). From the receptionist when entering, nurse practitioner, the phlebotomist and the on duty doctor, Dr. John Chandler, the care that was displayed was outstanding. If I could give this facility 10 stars I would. Staff at North Caddo Medical Center please continue to do an awesome job. Thank you for such a positive experience.

Actually, Dr Woods is a very caring and competent doctor. He is above reproach and if anyone has a problem with him, more than likely it is a misunderstanding.
